Chapter 164 Three Days of Deception

Day 1 - Morning Light

The light that had just seeped through the gap in the curtains climbed onto the edge of the bed when Yu Jiuyuan woke up.

The man beside her had his back to her, his shoulders taut and straight, even his breathing carried a deliberate air of distance.

She knew he was still angry; the words "Who were you wagging your tail to again?" were like a thorn stuck between them, and he hadn't softened all night.

She quietly moved closer and gently touched the back of his hand with her fingertips.

Rong Shenghan didn't move, but his knuckles curled up almost imperceptibly.

"Baby." Her voice was still sticky from just waking up, like a kitten rubbing against his back. "I made you some soup. You were tired yesterday."

He still didn't turn around.

Yu Jiuyuan sighed, then simply turned over and straddled his waist, her knees pressing against the soft mattress, and leaned down to kiss the back of his neck.

As the strands of hair brushed against his skin, I could feel his Adam's apple bob.

"Stop fooling around." His voice was hoarse, as if covered with a layer of sand.

"Just kidding." Yu Jiuyuan bit his earlobe, her tongue lightly tracing the bump. "It's your fault for ignoring me."

She reached out to unbutton his pajamas, her movements as slow as peeling a candy wrapper.

Her fingertips traced his spine, each vertebra taut, until she touched the shallow scar on his waist, the one Ji Luoqin had left last time, which now became her point of attack.

When the kiss landed, Rong Shenghan finally let out a muffled groan.

Yu Jiuyuan, taking advantage of the situation, slid her hand down her waistline, her voice sickeningly sweet through her cotton pajama pants: "Shenghan, don't be angry anymore, okay?"

He suddenly rolled over and pinned her down.

The morning light fell right into his eyes, and his surging anger was wrapped in an intense, irrepressible desire.

"Aren't you good at begging?" He pinched her chin, his tone as cold as ice. "Beg one more time."

Yu Jiuyuan smiled, a sly glint in her eyes.

She didn't speak, but tilted her head back and kissed his lips, her tongue prying open his teeth in a gesture of proactive flattery.

Her hand went around his waist and pressed against the back of his neck, forcing him to sink even deeper into depravity.

He didn't move, letting her take the lead.

Until he grasped her wrist, his breath coming in short gasps, his voice hoarse: "Move yourself."

This is indulgence with a punitive connotation.

Yu Jiuyuan smiled, biting her lip, her waist swaying gently, as if she were performing a solo dance.

The morning light spilled over her collarbone, casting shimmering spots of light on his taut jawline. An ambiguous mist hung in the air, turning the unspoken "I'm sorry" into fragmented breaths.

Afterwards, she lay on his chest, tracing the outline of his abdominal muscles with her fingertips, and suddenly lowered her head to kiss him.

He kissed her from her navel to her ribs with a devout and delicate touch, as if smoothing out the wrinkles in his heart.

"What do you want to eat for lunch?" She looked up, her eyes sparkling. "I'll make it for you."

Rong Shenghan pulled the blanket over the two of them, his voice still indifferent: "Whatever."

But his hand quietly wrapped around her waist.

Day 2, Afternoon

A light rain was falling outside the window, pattering against the glass. Rong Shenghan sat on the sofa reading documents, while Yu Jiuyuan nestled on the carpet doing a jigsaw puzzle, her knees pressed against his calves, like a pet guarding its owner.

"This place is not right."

She held up a puzzle piece and brought it close to his eyes. The ring on her pinky finger shone with a pale blue light under the lamp, the color of his calming emotions, like the sky after a rain.

Rong Shenghan glanced at it, then pointed his finger at the bottom right corner of the puzzle: "It's upside down."

She said "oh" and obediently corrected him, but deliberately brushed her fingertips against the back of his hand.

His hands were cool and smelled of ink from paper. She took them in her hand and traced the outline of his knuckles with her fingertips.

"Are you still angry?" She shook his hand, her voice soft as a whisper.

The sound of a page being turned was interrupted. He didn't look at her: "No."

"You're lying." Yu Jiuyuan got up, knelt on the sofa, and breathed into his ear, "You didn't hold me while I slept yesterday."

He finally looked up, his eyes filled with a mixture of helpless indulgence and lingering awkwardness.

"Yu Jiuyuan," he pinched her cheek, "Are you that free?"

“Yes,” she laughed candidly, “my job is to make you happy.”

Before she finished speaking, she suddenly leaned down and kissed his palm.

It was a very light touch, like a feather brushing against him, and then the tip of her tongue gently brushed across his palm, carrying a warm, moist sensation.

Rong Shenghan's breath hitched, and the document slipped from his lap.

He suddenly grabbed the back of her neck and kissed her hard, carrying the pent-up frustration of the past two days.

The sound of rain outside the window blurred into background noise, leaving only the intertwined breaths of the two people, weaving a dense web in the quiet living room.

As he pressed her down onto the sofa, she suddenly grabbed his hand and placed it on her waist: "I can do it myself."

Like yesterday's replica, but with an added sense of unspoken understanding.

Her hair fell onto his chest, swaying gently with her movements, and her pinky ring occasionally brushed against his skin, causing a slight tickle.

Looking at her reddened eyes, he suddenly felt that all the surging jealousy he had felt was the footnote to the tears welling up in her eyes at this moment.

“Baby,” she whispered, kissing his Adam’s apple, “you see, I only wag my tail at you.”

These words were like a key, instantly unlocking his tense nerves.

He suddenly flipped her over and pinned her down, kissing her fiercely and urgently, as if he wanted to knead all the grievances and resentment of the past two days into this kiss.

When the rain stopped, Yu Jiuyuan lay on him and watched him pick up the documents again.

Sunlight peeked through the clouds and fell on his profile. She suddenly noticed that the red on his ears was even more vibrant than the stamp on a document.

Day 3 - Dusk

During dinner, Rong Shenghan drank some red wine, his eyes slightly red with intoxication.

Yu Jiuyuan watched as he put down his wine glass, suddenly got up and left the table, leaving behind the words "Wait for me" before running upstairs.
