Staring at my phone screen, tears streamed down my face uncontrollably.

Su Shenglin waited for me to come in, closed the door, and followed behind me.

I felt a chill run down my spine. I glanced back slightly, but then lowered my gaze, not daring to look up at him.

But I knew he was definitely watching me the whole time.

After Li Yunwei entered the living room, she called Chen Wanzhen, who was busy refilling tea and water, away: "Let's go downstairs and see what food is available outside, and bring some back for Jiang Wan."

To make her performance more convincing, Li Yunwei even turned to me and asked, "You haven't eaten, have you?"

I shook my head: "No."

"Mr. Su hasn't eaten either, has he? I'll bring you some back from a nearby restaurant, is that alright?" Li Yunwei asked him again.

"No need, you can take it to Jiang Wan." Su Shenglin said again.

Every time he spoke, my tears felt like falling even more, and I don't know why.

Li Yunwei and Chen Wanzhen went out, leaving only Su Shenglin, my sleeping son, and me at home.

The little one must have been tired on the plane; he was sleeping so soundly in the cramped stroller.

I went over, tucked the blanket around the little guy, and sat down next to him.

"How...how did you know I was coming back today?" I didn't dare look at him and asked casually as I sat down.

Su Shenglin didn't answer, but looked at his son and asked me, "Aren't you going to explain?"

"Explain what?" I finally looked up at him, my heart skipping a beat.

"What are you trying to explain? Or do you think this has nothing to do with me, so there's no need to explain?" His tone remained gentle, and he even spoke very softly because the child was sleeping.

But I sensed that he was angry.

I felt a little nervous, looked away, and whispered, "It was an accident. I didn't expect to get pregnant. We had already broken up for a while."

"Is this your reason for keeping it from me?" He clearly did not accept this explanation.

I pursed my lips, frowned, and felt troubled.

I know he likes it; you can tell from the photos Li Yunwei just sent me.

"If you like it, that would be great, then there will be another person who loves him. However, you can't fight me for custody of the child."

I looked at him again, my gaze becoming more resolute.

I know I'm in the wrong, but when it comes to custody issues, I have to be assertive.

"You didn't tell me because you were afraid I'd fight you for custody of the child?"

"That's one factor."

"..." Su Shenglin took a deep breath, turned his face away, calmed down for a moment, then turned back and suddenly said, "I want to take the child back to Su Garden."

"What?" I exclaimed in surprise, and stood up abruptly. "I just said, you can't fight me for custody."
