A story about the female lead's redemption.
This is a passerby's perspective version of the synopsis.
The Fengyue Brothel is, after all, a brothel. What good people could possib...
Before meeting He Yi, Huo Shuwen was indifferent to matters of love and relationships; only those close to him could touch his emotions.
But he had no close relatives, only a master.
He only had his master from a young age.
He didn't know who his parents were.
I don't know where I'll end up after my master's death.
A smart young man dressed in shorts and carrying a long spear wandered aimlessly through the martial arts world. When his master died, he cried bitterly and then gave him a grand funeral.
That's all he can do.
The boy standing in front of his master's grave looked up at the sky. A distant cry of an eagle caught his attention. He stared at the black dot with his peach-blossom eyes for a long time until it disappeared from sight.
He felt that he was this eagle now, or even worse than this eagle.
Even eagles have a home, but he doesn't.
A carrier pigeon flew in from afar, its wings flapping strangely, sometimes flying low and sometimes soaring high.
The boy looked closely and realized, oh, that eagle was chasing it.
He reached out and let the carrier pigeon land on his shoulder, then chased away the hunting eagle.
Few people in the martial arts world could contact him. He was an old friend of his master's. He had something to do and could no longer serve as a bodyguard for a wealthy family in the capital, so he recommended him to go.
Let's go, we're just killing time anyway.
The moment Huo Shuwen stepped into the capital, he felt it was a bit noisy. He was clearly a handsome young man, but he had to wear a sour face.
—Knock knock knock
The boy knocked on the gate of the He family mansion.
"Who are you looking for?" the doorman asked.
"I'm taking Uncle Sun's place as a bodyguard."
The gatekeeper informed the steward, who then led the boy to a secluded courtyard and said to him:
"From now on, you'll be here. Your main responsibility is to ensure the safety of the second young lady. Also, don't let her go out and wander around."
In fact, most normal people understand what a housekeeper is.
Their intention was to prevent the second young lady from leaving this courtyard.
But Huo Shuwen understood the literal meaning.
Not wandering off means not getting lost.
Um,
that's all.
That was the first time Huo Shuwen saw He Yi. The girl was in the water, having just been rescued by servants.
After just one glance, the boy dared not look again.
How did it grow like that? How was it born?
He Yi wore a plain dress, with only a jade hairpin in her hair, which was not of very good quality. She had two strands of hair on her temples, and the rest was loose behind her.
The key point is that she had just come out of the water, and the servants pulled her out and left.
Her hair was wet, dripping water, and trembled slightly when the wind blew.
When Qiu Shui glanced at the boy, Huo Shuwen felt as if he had been electrocuted.
However, this young girl isn't doing very well. They're all colleagues; they rescued you and then abandoned you.
She has terrible interpersonal skills.
"Are you the new guard that Father sent?"
hold head high?
Huo Shuwen was taken aback.
But he didn't show it on his face and immediately replied:
"Yes, the butler said I'm here to be in charge of the second young lady's safety."
"Are you the second young lady?"
He Yi nodded, and another gust of wind blew by, making He Yi tremble even more violently.
Huo Shuwen couldn't understand why the young lady of this wealthy family was treated worse than a servant. Perhaps this was a unique situation within the powerful and influential circles of the capital.
Normally, Huo Shuwen would have turned around and left immediately; what did it have to do with him?
For some reason, he inexplicably took off his cloak and draped it over He Yi.
The boy snapped out of his daze when his hand touched He Yi's wet clothes.
What is he doing?
He then turned and left.
He Yi, sitting blankly on the ground, tilted her head curiously as she watched Huo Shuwen's retreating figure.
Until the boy's figure disappeared,
He instantly dropped his pitiful, easily bullied demeanor and turned cold.
She took off the cloak and went straight back to her room.
"Ayi, look, this is the hairpin your father had the servants bring over for me today. Doesn't it look beautiful on me?"
The woman sitting in front of the dressing table did not notice her daughter's unusual wet appearance, but instead continued to examine her reflection in the mirror.
"mother."
"I've told you so many times, you have to call me Auntie."
He Yi gave a cold laugh.
"Ha, there's no need. My stepmother doesn't even bother to see me."
Looking at her beaming mother, He Yi couldn't understand how anyone in this world could be so willing and happy to be someone's concubine.
"Oh dear, why are you all wet?"
He Yi's mother turned around and saw her daughter's disheveled state.
The girl lowered her head, remained silent for a moment, and then said:
"Mother, I always do this after Father comes to visit you. Don't you know?"
Upon hearing this, a flicker of evasion crossed the woman's eyes. She dared not look at her daughter, and forced a smile to change the subject.
"You silly child, you're all wet and you don't even wash yourself. I'll have them boil some water for you now, my good boy."
After saying this, she called over a servant. In the short time it took to prepare the water, the woman wanted to check her new hairpin in the mirror.
He Yi shook her head and took a deep breath.
How boring.
She never wants to be like her own mother in her life.
After the girl finished washing up, she opened the window to let the cold wind blow on her. The entire He family kept a close watch on her, mainly because she was not allowed to leave the house.
But as soon as He Yi opened the window, she saw Huo Shuwen sitting on a tree branch, eating something in his hand.
The boy leaned against the tree trunk, one leg bent and placed on a branch, the other leg dangling down, the red ribbon on the sword hilt at his waist swaying in the wind.
...
"You shouldn't be out in the wind. You just fell into the water during the day. If you're exposed to cold wind now, you'll get a fever tomorrow."
He Yi was still staring at Huo Shuwen when the young man suddenly spoke.
