A story about the female lead's redemption.
This is a passerby's perspective version of the synopsis.
The Fengyue Brothel is, after all, a brothel. What good people could possib...
Huo Shuwen spent the whole day in the woods, hunting a roe deer. The trap he'd set a few days ago also caught a baby wild boar. When he went to check on it today, the boar was already stiff. More importantly, he'd gotten a nice little thing for his daughter.
His body was laden with prey, and without hands to guard the door, he shouted from the entrance.
"Ah Yi, open the door, I'm home."
He Yi went out to buy groceries, leaving Huo Xiaocheng and Erhei at home. The boy opened the door for his father and saw a piglet on his right shoulder, a roe deer in his left hand, and something moving on his back.
"You're back? Where's your mother?"
The man entered the room and looked the boy up and down.
I thought to myself, "Hmm, I'm not missing any limbs, I look alright after going out for a walk, and I seem to have matured quite a bit."
But he didn't say it. He felt there was nothing to talk about with his son. What was the point of two grown men being so lovey-dovey? He had already given his son enough care and attention when he was a child.
Huo Xiaocheng also grew up on his father's shoulders when he was a child.
But now that his son is of age, he should fulfill his responsibilities as a man and learn to support his mother and sister.
He would watch from behind, just like when he was a child and he watched him learn to walk unsteadily.
"My mom went to buy groceries, Dad."
He took the roe deer and wild boar from his father and continued...
"This is my friend, Erhei. He saved my life this time."
Huo Shuwen nodded to Erhei, who, seeing Huo Shuwen's somewhat cold expression, felt a little scared. Erhei bowed ninety degrees to Huo Shuwen and said loudly...
"Hello, Uncle!"
The man was taken aback, feeling that this kid was a bit reckless.
"Your friend is coming to stay for a while. Go and prepare this wild boar; have your mother cook it for dinner tonight."
"Uncle, no... there's no need to spend money!"
"Eat up, eat up, my dad has spoken."
The only thing he and his father could agree on was adding more food to the family's meals.
Huo Shuwen put the basket inside the house and changed his clothes. He Yi was already busy at the stove.
"Ayi, I'm back, why didn't you say anything to me?"
The man looked pitiful as he spoke from behind He Yi.
The kitchen was so small that there was no room for anyone else to stand once the man arrived.
"We have guests at home, I'll talk to you again tonight."
He was fooled by her pitiful, lustful appearance, and she played the victim every day. One day she'd bow her head and tell you she wasn't good enough for you. The next day she'd ask you, with red eyes, if you were interested in the son of the Vice Minister. In any case, she was always right.
He Yi didn't want to argue; this feeling of being valued was very important to her.
Everyone has flaws in their personality and always tries to find compensation in others. He Yi found the person she was looking for.
"I brought back a little brown bear for our girl to play with," the man said, showing off his achievement.
"Why would you bring that thing?! Doesn't it hurt people?"
"It's okay, it's only this big."
Huo Shuwen pointed to the sugar jar, and He Yi was relieved to hear this.
"You could have just found her a puppy to keep, but instead you gave her that thing."
"That mother bear, I don't know why she gave birth to cubs now. These cubs are very weak, and she thought they wouldn't survive, so she abandoned them. I found them."
Ah Yi is the most soft-hearted, and when she heard that the little bear had been abandoned by its own mother, she didn't say anything.
There are plenty of families in the capital who keep tigers and wolves in their villas. So what if she has a daughter? Even though they don't have much money right now, it's just another mouth to feed. Would a family be dragged down by a little bear cub?
Looking at his wife, Huo Shuwen's cold eyes suddenly became lively.
"You've seen Erhei, haven't you?"
"Yes, I saw him."
"That's Cheng'er's savior. Don't keep a long face at the dinner table later, understand?"
"good"
Before meeting He Yi, Huo Shuwen was like an eagle soaring in the sky every day, looking down from above, and nothing could move him. He could be a famous swordsman in the martial arts world, or he could be a bodyguard of a nobleman in the capital.
One day, the eagle encountered his nest.
Huo Shuwen began to feel a sense of crisis. He felt that someone was always trying to take away his territory, that he was not good enough for her, and that he was not good enough to be a cultured person.
Fortunately, his nest also liked him.
He will remove all obstacles in their path, and if they are lucky enough, they will be together forever.
Huo Shuwen is very content with his life now. His wife gave birth to a daughter and a baby, making a perfect family.
He will try his best to be a good father and watch them grow up.
However, he wouldn't give in to the brat when he grew up. Everyone's a first-time human being, so why should he give in to him?
This might be the amazing magnetic field between father and son.
There were six dishes on the table: braised pork, stir-fried pork with pickled cabbage, chicken stew with mushrooms, radish stew with pork ribs, cold pig's ear salad, and roasted pig's trotters.
When the dishes were served, Erhei felt he couldn't control his drooling.
He Yi untied her apron, washed her hands, sat down next to the man, and said...
"Hurry up and eat, stop looking!"
Huo Shuwen placed a piece of pork rib on his wife's plate and gestured for the two boys in front of him to start eating. Luckily, he had brought back a wild boar today, otherwise these two boys would probably have eaten half a vat of rice.
He Yi enjoys watching others eat the dishes she makes, but both father and son are quite restrained; even if they love the food, they can't eat much.
Erhei was different; he naturally had a bigger appetite than others, and with He Yi's delicious cooking, he practically buried his head in his rice bowl. He grew up on the grasslands, and his mother told him this when she died.
"You are a citizen of Yan. No matter what others say about you, you are a citizen of Great Yan."
