Chapter 170 Not a Single Armor Left

When Li Jia charged into the crowd for the second time, there were still more than a dozen people in the ambush. The cars were empty; everyone had abandoned them and was advancing rapidly towards Liang Bo and the others! Li Jia reappeared behind the group, quickly picked up a UZI lying on the ground, checked the remaining bullets in the magazine, and then used one of the cars as cover. The gun fired a scorching flame as the enemy was completely unprepared.

Half of the dozen or so men were dead before they turned around and began indiscriminately scanning the area behind Li Jia's car. After a long while of frantic scanning, there was still no sound from behind Li Jia's car. "Go check it out!" With a command, three men carrying AK-47s cautiously approached the car.

When they were three or four meters away from the car, the three of them spread out in a fan shape and surrounded the car. When they reached the front of the car, they suddenly started and pounced on the side of the car, aiming their guns at the place where Li Jia had been hiding, but the place was empty!

The three men quickly sensed something was wrong, as a high-explosive grenade suddenly came from under another car and landed right under the car in front of them. "Get out of here!"

There was no chance to retreat! The three men watched helplessly as the high-explosive grenade suddenly exploded in front of them. As the car flew into the air, the three men were sent flying, but they were already dead when they landed. The car exploded again in mid-air, and the tires and debris scattered in all directions, instantly hitting four or five people who fell to the ground.

Li Jia's figure leaped out from behind the car on the other side, performing a forward roll and drawing an A47. She then unleashed a barrage of bullets at the remaining enemies. When she ran out of bullets, only two enemies remained. Just as Li Jia vanished back into the bushes, two crisp sounds rang out, and the two men, still holding their weapons, collapsed to the ground almost simultaneously. In the distance, Angel casually tossed her MicroGalil aside.

Looking at the chaotic battlefield, Li Jia nodded to Angel and gestured for her to go get the car. Li Jia herself turned and walked to a perfectly intact Cherokee SUV, opened the door, got into the driver's seat, started the engine, and drove towards where Uncle Liang was hiding.

On the other hand, Angel also chose a large jeep parked some distance away and drove up to Uncle Liang. "Get in!" Angel said softly, looking at Uncle Liang's face, which showed sadness, anger, and relief.

Uncle Liang glanced at Angel in the car. He nodded with a complicated expression. Then he carried his younger brother, who was lying to the side groaning in pain, into the car. Angel turned the car around and returned to the highway leading to Florence.

Meanwhile, Li Jia drove down the mountain. Emily and Xiao Long, protected by two other henchmen, saw the distant battlefield where explosions were still occurring. After the fighting subsided, the group was eager to know the outcome, especially Emily. Ignoring Xiao Long's objections, she insisted on running down the hillside. A car approaching from afar had only its low beams on, and its interior lights were also on. Emily immediately recognized Li Feng inside. Just as Xiao Long was about to drive off, she stopped him. "It's Li Feng! It really is him! He really came to protect me!" Emily shouted excitedly, throwing her bag aside and running to the stopped car!

"Xiaoyue, are you alright?" Li Jia got out of the car, a faint smile on her face, and asked Emily with concern.

"Brother Li... Brother Li!... Waaah!" Emily threw herself into Li Jia's arms. Tears streamed uncontrollably down her face. She hugged Li Jia tightly and sobbed loudly!

The events Emily had experienced these past few days had pushed her otherwise strong heart to the brink of collapse. Even though she had been intentionally exposed to this world of bloodshed since childhood, the reality still left her feeling helpless, especially after experiencing several brushes with death in just a few days—the experience was simply unbearable.

"It's alright, get in the car, I'll give you a ride." Li Jia patted Emily's shoulder, his tone calm yet full of confidence and concern. "Mm..." Emily's pent-up negative emotions found release in Li Jia's arms, and she gradually calmed down. She nodded and silently got into the passenger seat. Xiao Long, leading two other fully armed henchmen, also came to the car. "No matter who you are, thank you!" Xiao Long bowed immediately upon reaching Li Jia, then got into the car with his two henchmen. Inside, the men stared silently at the still-smoking, flickering fire on the side of the road, their thoughts unknown.

"Sit tight." Li Jia glanced at the group in the rearview mirror. One of the henchmen nervously avoided Li Jia's gaze. Li Jia didn't pay attention to his expression. Surviving such an ordeal was a stroke of luck for anyone, and some unusual behavior was normal. So Li Jia just glanced at him, said calmly, "Sit tight," and then started the car, turned it around, and drove onto the highway.

Angel's car was driving slowly ahead, waiting for Li Jia. When Li Jia returned to the road, Angel gently honked her horn twice before picking up speed. The two cars then left the spot where they had been standing and sped off towards Florence.
