Outside the window, Li Jia's gaze was fixed on the Starbucks parking lot. In front of her Passat, a guy in a denim jacket was squatting in front of her license plate, fiddling with something. Another guy was looking around. The license plates of several cars next to hers had disappeared. Besides the guy squatting there fiddling with something, the other guy was carrying a black plastic bag, which looked like it contained stolen license plates.

Li Jia took out her phone and dialed Jiang Ling's number. "Officer Jiang, hello, I need to report a case! Someone is stealing my license plate. Chen Yi noticed the stares of those around her, playfully stuck out her tongue, then apologized to everyone with a slightly flushed face. She then sat down, but her eyes were fixed nervously on the scene outside the window.

Li Jia paid the bill for the two of them, ordered a cappuccino for Chen Yi, told Chen Yi to wait for him there, and then left Starbucks.
