Chapter 19 The Exam on Demon Island 2 (Iwa-gan Valley)

Inside the room, Xia Xiang's illusion continued.

But then Wang Arthur appears at the end, making it really difficult to make a move. Xia Xiang's feelings for Wang Arthur are actually quite complicated. Although he teased her, he also saved her, didn't he?

Now is not the time to think about these things; let's just cut it down first...

Xia Xiang thought it was over, but then a circle of familiar faces appeared around her. Their clothes and demeanor were completely different from what she remembered, and they surrounded her.

Before she could react, they disappeared again.

The lights in the room came on, and Bai Yu walked in. Seeing that Xia Xiang had passed through the illusion so easily, he couldn't help but feel a little worried.

Back then, Huai'an stayed there for more than two years and was almost forcibly suspended by the elders. Some elders even thought he should be thrown into Yan Yan Valley...

"Rest for a few days, and we'll let you know about the upcoming exams later." Bai Yu noticed that her eyes were still red and handed her a handkerchief.

"No need, we can start right away, I'm in a hurry." Xia Xiang took the handkerchief and thanked her.

"Go back and rest for a few days, that's the rule." Bai Yu frowned, said nothing more, and turned to leave.

Xia Xiang had no choice but to go back and rest, as she was actually quite tired anyway.

"Eating," Huai'an said calmly, setting out the bowls and chopsticks.

"Did you make this?" Xia Xiang didn't stand on ceremony, sat down opposite him, and began to examine the dishes.

"Do I look like someone who can cook?" Huai'an was still quite pleased; Xia Xiang still had a positive impression of her.

"Have the elders' canteen cook it. Don't waste time cooking anymore, just eat at the elders' canteen."

"We know you're picky about food and don't like those nutritious but unpalatable dishes, so we specially arranged for someone to cook for you. Aren't you touched?"

"What's your purpose?" Xia Xiang put down her chopsticks, quite displeased that he was nagging and complaining when he was in such a good mood.

"Why don't we reconcile? It must be exhausting to still hate me like this after all these years." Huai'an's expression was indifferent, showing no sincerity in wanting to reconcile.

"I don't hate you," Xia Xiang said, relieved. She picked up her chopsticks and started eating. "But you think I'll forgive you? No way."

"This is delicious, you're not allowed to eat it!"

"Heh~" Huai'an snorted coldly, "You're getting all smug just because I gave you a little encouragement?"

So the two fought again over stuttering, and Xia Xiang narrowly won.

“You win,” Huai’an patted Xia Xiang’s arm that was holding his throat. “Then how about this, before you forgive me, you can ask me for anything, and I will do anything I can to help you achieve it.”

"I'm not six years old anymore, so if you're going to lie to me, at least be serious, okay?" Xia Xiang tightened her arms and rolled her eyes.

“You can give it a try,” Huai’an chuckled.

"Call me Dad," Xia Xiang commanded sternly, one hand on her hip and the other pointing at Huai'an's nose.

The smile on Huai'an's lips slowly froze, then deepened...

In the blink of an eye, Huai'an swept his long arm around Xia Xiang, pulling her onto his lap. A ruler appeared out of thin air in his hand, and he treated Xia Xiang to a meal of "rug-fried meat"...

Xia Xiang's eyes were bloodshot. Holding her buttocks, she kicked him several times hard. "Don't appear in my sight. Get out of here right now."

That scoundrel is a fraud; he can't even grant her such a small request. Luckily, she never believed him.

Xia Xiang returned to the cabin unhappily and slammed the door shut.

Huai'an didn't say anything, but watched her figure disappear from sight with deep eyes before leaving Bamo Island as well.

If you can't coax her, then don't. As long as she's happy.

After resting for a few days, Xia Xiang arrived at the fourth stage of the exam—"Brave the Library."

Here she met her classmates from the same year as her, as well as her seniors from previous years, all of whom had failed this test.

"What's going on?" Xia Xiang looked at the group of people whose eyes were glued to their books. They were all sitting neatly at the long tables around the room, but no one paid any attention to her.

"From what you've seen," Bai Yu explained, "because the Demon-Slaying Island's business spans all twelve dimensions, there's a lot of knowledge to learn. It's only a few tens of thousands of books; you can finish them by just looking at them."

"Do I really have to finish reading it?" Xia Xiang turned her head to look at the neat bookshelves, which were arranged in an orderly manner, and the other end of the room could not be seen at a glance.

The bookshelves were extremely tall, reaching the ceiling of the third floor.

Behind them appeared to be small, individual rooms, like a lounge; some were lit up, while others were dark and presumably empty.

"Of course you have to watch it," Bai Yu said, handing her a wristwatch.

"Take this with you. It will record your progress and comprehension of each book you read. When your comprehension of all books is above 98%, take this to the elder to complete the task."

"Bamo Island is so fragmented. The island is basically in a retro ethnic style, and you have to build houses like primitive people. Now they've given us something so high-tech to use for exams." Xia Xiang stroked the LCD screen on her wristwatch and continued to look around the library.

She had spent five years at the Thousand-Foot Frost Cliff, and felt like she was practically a cavewoman. Seeing such high-tech things now still felt a bit unreal.

Although Demon Island doesn't impose restrictions on her, she has never actually been here before, because the library on the training side is separate from this side.

There are those annoying elders over here who love to nag; she's never liked going this way.

Bai Yu glanced at her and waved to a cold-faced man in the corner.

"Ji'an, take Xia Xiang to her seat." Bai Yu finished speaking and left.
