Xia Xiang is the most special child in the Xia Lan Xing De family. Because she is a rare light-type elemental warrior, she could not stay in the Xia household to grow up. Since birth, she has grown...
Xia Xiang had just finished inspecting these timelines when she received a message that the wind would stop.
"Jiu Wu has emerged from seclusion?" Xia Xiang was overjoyed. However, when she opened the passage, she was not able to return to the Wind Dimension. Instead, she was instantly drenched by the cold rain.
The surroundings were dark, and lightning occasionally streaked across the dark sky.
Xia Xiang immediately used her energy to dry the cold rainwater off her body, then took out an umbrella and held it up herself.
"It's not the rainy season in the Wind Dimension right now, is it? This rain is very unusual." Thinking this to herself, she took out the scroll to check her location, only to find herself in the Iron Dimension.
"I was just missing Tongtong, I'll go back and see her." Xia Xiang said, about to teleport away, when she sensed a dense swarm of demonized people approaching.
An eleven or twelve-year-old child hurriedly teleported in this direction, carefully avoiding the people chasing him not far behind.
"Acupuncture dance???" Xia Xiang frowned.
This was Jiu Wu, not his clone. The clothes he was wearing were exactly the same as the ones they were wearing when they were ambushed that day.
But Jiu Wu seemed not to see her and passed right through her body.
Xia Xiang thought about it for a moment and decided to go with him. Although she didn't know what had happened to her, she really wanted to know how they had escaped.
Jiu Wu had been injured before, and now his superpowers were exhausted. He hadn't run far before he stopped under a tree, panting heavily.
After a brief rest, he began to take down the demonized humans who had approached one by one. However, due to his injuries, his movements were not as swift as usual, and he struggled to deal with the demonized humans. But his eyes held a coldness and ruthlessness that Xia Xiang had never seen before.
Xia Xiang's heart clenched at the sight of him. She raised her hand but found that her energy was completely ineffective against the demonized people. Instead, it passed through their bodies without causing any pain or discomfort, as if passing through a phantom.
As for Jiu Wu, his superpowers had been completely exhausted, and he could only defend himself in the way an ordinary person would. He was knocked to the ground with a single palm strike and fell into the mud.
The demonized people swarmed forward and surrounded him instantly.
"That little one isn't here!" The demonic man said, his voice laced with suppressed anger as he saw that only Jiu Wu was there.
They lost so many men, and the mission objective is nowhere to be found?!
"Second team, return the way you came and search for Xia Xiang's whereabouts. That little brat is also injured and can't have gone far," the leader said. "First team, take Jiu Wu back. He is, after all, the alliance leader's son, and he's still useful."
“Jiu Wu, the unfilial son of the Jiu Da Chang Lao family, is naturally not going to be captured.” Jiu Wu’s eyes were cold, but his expression was smiling. “Of course, you won’t be leaving either.”
"They all have to die!" A resolute glint flashed in Jiu Wu's eyes. White light illuminated his features, and there was no hesitation on the handsome young man's face. Vigorous energy overflowed from his body.
"Oh no, he's going to self-destruct! Scatter!" The leader cursed inwardly at his madness.
As everyone dispersed, a little dumpling rushed to Jiu Wu's side at lightning speed and hugged him tightly.
This unexpected turn of events caught Jiu Wu completely off guard. What was that chubby kid doing? He told her to run towards reinforcements, why did she come looking for him? Now look what's happened, they're going to die together!
——
Xia Xiang blushed as she watched her younger self rush into Jiu Wu's arms, but she quickly forgot about her foolish behavior as a child because she was now forced to absorb her past self's body.
She tried to stop Jiu Wu from self-destructing, but she was powerless to do so.
At the critical moment, the ring on her hand burst forth with a dazzling light, and her body quickly filled with energy. This prevented Jiu Wu from self-destructing, and the surrounding demonized humans were also shattered by the aftershocks of the energy; their dust mixed with mud and water returned to nature.
Jiu Wu glanced at her and then fainted. Xia Xiang wanted to help her up, but she was too weak and had no energy to move her.
Just as she was trying to figure out a solution, she looked up and saw Huai'an looking shocked.
“You…” Huai’an was speechless.
He originally intended to intervene, and planned to take advantage of the chaos to pick up the two kids, send Jiu Wu back to Jiu Da Chang Lao's family, and bring Xia Xiang back to Ba Mo Island.
But how come Xia Xiang, this little brat, suddenly seems to have mutated? He's only been away from her for a few days, what kind of hormones did she take?
"Huai'an! Come and help!" Xia Xiang shouted loudly, ignoring Huai'an's clear yet foolish expression.
"Oh, I'm here." Huai'an immediately replied, then picked up Jiuwu and went to his temporary residence.
Xia Xiang was not used to Huai An's bewildered expression, but there was no time to laugh at him now; Jiu Wu's health was the most important thing.
"He's fine, he just fainted from excessive energy depletion. Moreover, the power from his self-destruction remains in his body, damaging his bones and muscles. It's a pity to waste such a talented person; his cultivation will be difficult to improve in the future."
Huai'an examined him and said with regret, "But it might be a good thing for him. I heard that his family's talents are earned by risking their lives, so at least he can live a few more days."
Xia Xiang ignored Huai An's words, sat on the edge of the bed, propped her head up, looked at Jiu Wu's pale face, and thought of a solution.
"Little friend, I actually work in the human resource exchange and trade, you know that, right?" Huai'an saw Xia Xiang standing there motionless despite her young age, and said, "Why don't you come with me, and I'll help you save him, okay?"
“I know you’re from Demon Island, and I know your mission.” Xia Xiang glared at Huai’an with disdain. “But you have no idea who I am.”
"Oh, tell me who you are?" Huai'an raised an eyebrow with amusement, somewhat resembling his later rogue and domineering demeanor.
