Jiang Tiecheng was reborn.
Just because he drew the lot to take over his father's job, he got an immense benefit.
His entire life, he had to help his mother raise his younger siblin...
"Dr. Ouyang, now that you've finished eating, I'll sit with you in the courtyard for a while."
Li Zhenhua hurriedly got up.
He wanted to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Liu Yu, who was standing next to him, became anxious. This was an opportunity to get closer to Dr. Ouyang.
How could we let the Li family benefit?
My own father is still waiting here.
He also hurriedly got up.
"Dr. Ouyang, I'll keep you company. Since you don't like red wine, how about we have some tea, or something else you'd like to drink?"
“We’ve all finished eating. Why don’t we all go to the courtyard and sit down for a while, have a cup of tea, and cleanse our stomachs?”
Everyone at the table was restless; who could possibly eat at that moment?
With so many people speaking up, Ouyang Zhenyu felt a little embarrassed, as he was never the type to particularly care about embarrassing others.
Everyone treats me with such friendliness, regardless of their motives—whether it's for personal gain or because they need something from me—as long as they haven't offended me.
There's definitely no need to create such a tense situation.
Ouyang Zhenyu said with a smile.
"Okay, if everyone has finished eating, let's sit in the yard for a while."
He realized that these people weren't going to let him go today; they clearly had something to say to him.
Ouyang Zhenyu's amiable attitude immediately caused everyone to stand up in unison.
Ouyang Zhenyu walked out surrounded by people, and the restaurant was suddenly empty.
The three members of the Lu family had no choice but to follow. If they didn't, they were afraid that Ouyang Zhenyu would say something that would give them away.
Only four people were left sitting alone at the dining table.
Section Chief Li and his colleagues wiped their sweat; they hadn't even dared to pick up their chopsticks for the meal.
The main problem is that with so many people watching, and the people sitting next to them are all important figures, how can they possibly eat?
They are afraid of being looked down upon for eating too much of something, and afraid of being laughed at for not knowing how to eat something.
Each dish was eaten like a chicken pecking at rice; I only took a bite, and my stomach wasn't even full.
Seeing that everyone had left, the four of them breathed a sigh of relief. They exchanged glances, realizing they hadn't touched any of the food they had received. If those people didn't eat, they certainly would.
This is not their usual amount of food.
The four of them wolfed down their food, and no one paid any attention to them at that moment.
They ate with gusto.
And I must say, these things are really delicious, unlike the taste of Northwest China.
But they're all good stuff, all things I've never seen before. If I tell others about them when I get back, they'll probably be incredibly envious.
The courtyard was packed with people.
Ouyang Zhenyu knew from the way these people surrounded him that today was no ordinary meal.
“Dr. Ouyang, my father and Grandpa Lu were old comrades-in-arms, old classmates, and childhood friends who grew up together. They were practically inseparable when they were kids.”
The man next to Ouyang Zhenyu immediately tried to appeal to personal relationships.
"Dr. Ouyang, you and Xiaomin will soon be a family, so naturally you will be a family with us too."
My father has a heart condition and has been wanting to have surgery, but we haven't been able to find a suitable doctor.
"Dr. Ouyang, now that you're in Haishi, why don't you arrange for the old man to have surgery?"
The man next to him panicked upon hearing this.
"Dr. Ouyang, I am Xiaomin's older brother."
Although she's more than ten years older than you, when we were little she used to follow me around calling me "brother" all the time.
Since you are Xiaomin's fiancé, then it's only right that you get my mother the surgery!
My mother has liver problems.
A liver transplant is needed, and we have found a liver donor. However, no one dares to perform the surgery.
“Ouyang, since we’re family, please agree to this request and help my old lady.”
"Yes, Ouyang, since you are Xiaomin's fiancé, please help us all."
We are all related to the Lu family in some way.
"We've watched Xiaomin grow up all these years. You're Xiaomin's fiancé, so naturally you're our nephew."
Ouyang Zhenyu stood up and gestured for everyone to be quiet.
"Excuse me, I may have misheard you."
When did I become Li Huimin's fiancé?
Upon hearing this, everyone looked bewildered, and the middle-aged man next to them stood up.
"Dr. Ouyang, aren't you the grandson-in-law of the Lu family?"
"That's impossible. Grandpa, Grandma said you're the Lu family's grandson-in-law and Xiaomin's fiancé."
"Grandpa Lu and Grandma Lu would never lie."
Before Ouyang Zhenyu could speak, Grandpa Lu, Grandma Lu, and Li Huimin, who had arrived at the scene, hurriedly spoke up to stop him.
"Ouyang, come with me for a moment. I have something to discuss with you."
Grandma Lu hurriedly spoke up, saying that if Ouyang Zhenyu really revealed that he was not Lu's grandson-in-law, things would get complicated.
Li Huimin hurriedly stepped forward.
“Ouyang, my maternal grandmother wants to talk to you. Why don’t you go to the study to discuss it?”
Grandma Lu stepped forward and glanced at Ouyang Zhenyu with a smile.
"Come with me."
"Old man, you just chat with everyone. Xiaomin, you come too."
Everyone suddenly realized, was Ouyang Zhenyu just shy? This matter hadn't come to fruition yet.
Ouyang Zhenyu and Li Huimin followed the old lady directly to the study upstairs.
As soon as she entered the study and closed the door, the old lady sat down in a chair and calmly looked at Ouyang Zhenyu.
