Han Xi had just found the answer she wanted from the prison when the culprit was seriously injured and helped the old lady. It was too much of a coincidence.

What puzzled Han Xi was whether Bai Xue knew about their capture of Dr. Liu last night. If she didn't know, then today's events were purely coincidental.

When she walked out of the ward, Shen Jiheng was waiting for her in the corridor.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'll take you back; I'm worried about you after what happened."

Han Xi crossed her arms and leaned back in the car seat, saying, "Shen Jiheng, all your attempts to please me are useless. I will not come back to you."

Shen Jiheng fastened her seatbelt and smiled, "You're mistaken. I'm doing this simply because I want to do something for you."

Shen Jiheng was not lying; he was already quite satisfied to be able to get close to Han Xi in this way.

At least she wouldn't be filled with hatred for him like she used to, nor would she look at him with such a cold and terrifying gaze.
