Fox Wei cursed inwardly.

Damn it, he's after her stone house, not the coal she owes him!

If becoming her partner meant risking all that coal, he would never have said those things.

Feeling the scrutinizing gaze from the bearded man, Fox Wei trembled and quickly stopped Eagle Willow from speaking:

"Don't talk nonsense! When did I ever say those things!"

After saying that, he quickly turned around and explained, "I really don't know her well. Since you're here to see Ying Liuer, I'll be leaving now so as not to disturb you..."

He grinned sheepishly, trying to stand up and leave.

Before he could even get up, the bearded man slapped him on the shoulder.

"Stop right there! Did I say you could leave?"

Another orc behind him roared, "You two aren't even familiar with each other, yet you live together? And Eagle Willow even brings you medicine? Do you think we're fools?"

The bearded man blew a breath, his mustache twitching upwards twice. "I don't care if you're familiar with Ying Liu'er or not. Since you're here today, you have to pay off her debts for this coal!"

"How could a female possibly produce coal? Of course we'd come to you!"

Hu Wei's face turned pale; he felt as if his shoulder was about to be shattered.

"I...I really don't..."

He tried to explain, but the bearded man's face hardened, and he angrily asked, "You won't return it? Fine, then chop him up and throw him into the forest to feed the wolves!"

"Wait! I'll eat it, I'll eat it!" Fox Wei exclaimed in terror, hurriedly stopping the other four beastmen who were about to step forward.

With their menacing expressions, he felt they weren't just threatening him; they were truly capable of doing such a thing.

"Then return it."

The bearded man extended his hand in a gesture.

"I... I don't have that much coal right now, could you..." Hu Wei said tremblingly and cautiously.

Before he finished speaking, the bearded man's face visibly darkened.

"Are you kidding me?"

Before Hu Wei could react, the bearded man grabbed his shoulder and tossed him out into the snow like a chick.

"Let's teach him a lesson and show him the consequences of lying to us."

As soon as the bearded man finished speaking, four males rushed up, pulled Fox Wei, who had fallen face-first into the dirt, up, dislocated his jaw and arm, and tied him up with ropes they found from somewhere.

They took him down the mountain, near the caves inhabited by the orcs, and hung him from the tallest tree.

Fox Wei felt dizzy and disoriented. When he came to his senses, he was already hanging upside down under the tree.

The commotion was quite significant, immediately attracting the attention of many orcs.

He hurriedly opened his mouth to shout, but because his jaw had been dislocated, he couldn't utter a complete sentence. Instead, his mouth was drooling so much that it almost froze.

"We'll only release him when the coal is returned!" the bearded man ordered.

Hu Wei's face turned pale; they were trying to freeze him to death!

"Ahhh!" he cried out in a panic, like a monkey.

It screamed and struggled violently, trying to make more orcs see their evil deeds.

If the king finds out, he will definitely save me!

He's not Yingliu'er's partner at all, so why should he pay her back for the coal?

Fox Wei was indignant, his eyes full of hope, but the bearded man seemed to see through his thoughts and sneered:

"Don't bother. Everyone in Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain knows about your relationship with Ying Liuer. Who would believe you if you said you had nothing to do with her?"

"If you owe us coal and don't pay it back, even if the king were here, we wouldn't be too much of a fool to beat you to death."

"You won't have a good time until you return the coal!"

Despair and regret filled Hu Wei's eyes in an instant.

He must have had the worst luck in eight lifetimes to be implicated in this situation by Ying Liuer.

Ying Liuer must have planned to drag him down with her all along. What a vicious woman! He only just saw through her.

After the bearded man finished speaking, he instructed the four orcs to take turns guarding the area and then left it to its own devices.

The nearby orcs watched the spectacle, none of them showing any intention of interfering.

Living in this world where people eat meat and drink blood, not many orcs have the kind heart; most of them are indifferent to things that don't concern them.

It's already good enough if they don't kick someone when they're down.

Fox Wei's heart sank.

Knowing he couldn't leave anyway, he cursed Ying Liuer dozens of times in his mind, then obediently conserved his energy, closed his eyes, and cleared his mind.

At first he was shivering from the cold, but soon his body stiffened and he felt nothing anymore.

Close your eyes, and give up.

Just when Fox Wei thought it was nothing special...

The baby monkeys appeared out of nowhere, stretching out their arms and hanging themselves from the trees.

When they saw the orcs tied up under the tree, they all looked angry, chattering as they picked up sticks and made snowballs, throwing them all at Fox Wei's face.

"hiss!"

A snowball hit Fox Wei in the face. He opened his eyes angrily and saw a bunch of monkey cubs lying upside down.

Then came countless snowballs flying in.

"Ouch! Stop... your hand!"

"You...you guys, stop hitting..."

Fox Wei's incoherent cursing eventually turned into pleas for mercy.

The snowballs wouldn't cause much harm if they hit you, but the monkey cubs were very clever and knew where to hit you to hurt you more.

Wounds, eyes, nose, roots...

The monkey tribe is a very united beast tribe; if you anger one of them, you will suffer the revenge of the entire tribe.

Sure enough, after several waves of monkey cubs bombarded him, Fox Wei was nearly killed.
