In the late Eastern Han Dynasty, the world was in chaos.
Liu Wei transmigrated to become a prince of the Eastern Han, initially framed by Empress Dowager He and granted the barren and dangero...
The person who arrived was a scout sent by Wang Fangyi.
"Reporting to the lord, four thousand elite cavalry have appeared in the direction of Julu, about a day's journey from here."
"The specific person in charge of the troops has not yet been identified."
Liu Wei nodded slightly.
However, for a place like Jizhou, where there are not many horses, being able to mobilize four thousand cavalry is already quite a feat.
"Investigate further! Find out who the commander is, and whether Yuan Shao has come!"
Although Liu Wei was certain that Yuan Shao would come, it was best to get the intelligence more accurate.
What was originally planned as a grand bonfire feast ended up burning some cats and dogs instead of Yuan Shao. Isn't that a waste of the reeds in Baiyangdian?
"My lord, the thousand cavalry and five thousand infantrymen by the Hutuo River in Wuji are still stationed in the same place and have not made any moves."
Lu Jianxing immediately reported this.
Last night, he removed the tiles from the roof of the Zhen family's house to find Liu Wei, who happened to be looking for him to pass on orders to Gao Lan and Zhang He.
After sending someone to deliver orders to Gao and Zhang under the cover of night, Lu Jianxing went to Wuji to spy on the Jizhou army garrison along the Hutuo River.
This morning, after Liu Wei and the Zhen family set off, he came to meet them.
"This part of the troops should wait until the people from Julu arrive before they move out, or stay where they are, or join the pursuit of us. We'll only know the answer after they meet."
"Commander Lu, continue scouting. Report to me immediately if they make any moves."
After a moment's thought, Liu Wei gave instructions to Lu Jianxing.
"Yes, sir!"
Lu Jianxing accepted the order and left.
"Commander Wang, pass on the word: we will not travel today; we will set up camp here!"
"If we leave too quickly, Yuan Shao will not chase after us, and all our efforts will be in vain."
Liu Wei looked around and saw a small hill that seemed to embrace him. There was an open space at the foot of the hill and a river in front of it, making it a very good place to camp. So he asked Wang Fangyi to arrange for them to set up camp.
"Raise my banner. If any Jizhou scouts appear in the vicinity, do not kill them all. Leave a few to inform the Jizhou army."
"If they knew I was here, they would surely come out in full force."
Then, Liu Wei gave Wang Fangyi further instructions.
Before long, a hundred guards dismounted and used their swords to clear a space at the foot of the hill to set up camp.
When Zhen Yi saw that Liu Wei wanted to rest there, he didn't know why, but he had no choice but to stop the Zhen family's carriages and put them together, and then ordered the guards to set up camp.
More than fifty villagers from the Zhen family stayed behind with Zhen Yi. They were quick and efficient, cutting down trees and building fences.
After a flurry of activity, they set up the cooking pots and started preparing the meal, with wisps of smoke rising from the chimneys.
Liu Wei's tent was naturally set up first. He had just entered and sat down when the curtain was lifted:
"Your Highness, Shishi and Sisi are here to serve you!"
The two widowed sisters-in-law of the Zhen family came in to pay their respects.
"Which of you is Sisi, and which is Shishi?!"
The two didn't introduce themselves last night, but when they did say their names today, they were surprised to find they had the same name.
“Your Highness, we are all called Sisi. We will all serve you when you call our names.”
The two answered happily.
They were sent back to their parents' home by Madam Zhen yesterday, which they were extremely unwilling to do.
Determined to fight for his own destiny, he sought an audience with Liu Wei early in the morning.
They hadn't held out any hope, but to their surprise, Liu Wei kept them and served them by his side. Overjoyed, the two women wept and resolved to take good care of Liu Wei.
"I see you two, one big and one small!"
Liu Wei smiled as he looked at the size of their chests, and after a little observation, he figured out how to tell them apart.
"From now on, you'll be called Da Shishi, and she'll be called Xiao Sisi!"
"You are my Liu Sishi!"
The two were overjoyed and bowed again to express their gratitude.
Judging from their behavior, they are dignified and proper, and must be ladies from respectable families.
"alright!"
Liu Wei smiled slightly, "I don't know what to arrange either. Just take a look at what needs to be done here and do what you think is best!"
"If any other people come to visit later, please help serve them tea and water!"
"Yes, Your Highness!"
The two bowed gracefully and then got to work with great enthusiasm.
Before long, Zhen Yi had instructed his servants to set up camp. After thinking for a while, he went to see Liu Wei alone.
When Sisi and Shishi saw that it was their former father-in-law, they were a little embarrassed and stood there awkwardly.
Liu Weilang said loudly, "Sishi, serve the tea!"
"Yes, Your Highness!"
The two women immediately came to their senses and brought tea to Zhen Yi.
Zhen Yi hurriedly bowed to express his gratitude, and also thanked Sisi and the other person.
This left the two women somewhat bewildered.
However, they quickly accepted it.
After all, they are no longer daughters-in-law of the Zhen family, but maids of the prince, their status is completely different now.
Zhen Yi will probably need their help again in the future.
The two women were feeling one word right now: awesome!
Zhen Yi watched all of this unfold, his heart filled with emotion.
I never expected Liu Wei to like married women!
But why did he disagree when Madam Zhen told him that Liu Wei had disguised himself as a young man from Zhuojun and came to Zhen Family Village to marry Zhen Mi, and when Madam Zhen took out the Moye sword with a sharkskin sheath, a thousand taels of gold, and his two widowed sisters-in-law?
Seeing Zhen Yi's eyes darting between the two widowed sisters-in-law, one could tell what he was thinking.
He immediately smiled slightly: "Mr. Zhen, is there something you need from me?"
Zhen Yi hurriedly cupped his hands and said, "I dare not accept such praise. I do indeed have something I wish to discuss with Your Highness."
"Is this your daughter's wedding?" Liu Wei naturally knew why he had come.
