Zhang Xiaojun spat out a mouthful of blood and two teeth with two spitting sounds. The pain was so intense that his nerves were almost numb. "You bitch, you ruined me."

Without Zhang Changsheng and Zhang Xiaojun keeping things in check, and with Zhang Xiaojun causing trouble these past two days, Zhang Yanqing and her sister's patience with their younger brother had reached its limit.

But that was when the three of them were alone together. As soon as Gu An'an appeared, they quickly united as one again.

"Gu An'an, how could you be so heartless? Xiao Jun is still your brother, how could you hurt him!"

"Exactly. Luckily, you only bumped your teeth today. If you had hit your head and someone had died, could you take responsibility for that?"

The three siblings were united in their hatred of the enemy, but Gu An'an was not afraid at all.

"If I haven't lost my memory, wasn't he the one who was yelling at me to kill me just now? What? You dare to kill me, but I don't even have the right to hide? Should we ask a leader to come and judge this?"

Zhang Yanqing was taken aback by these words, then said, "I saw you trip Xiaojun."

Gu An'an sneered, "If you want to find fault, you can always find a reason. I was so scared when he suddenly rushed out that I didn't have time to react. I haven't even blamed him for kicking my leg yet, but you're crying wolf."

She pulled her trousers up slightly, revealing a small patch of red.

The older women immediately stepped in to protect him, saying, "What's wrong? Three against one! Even if the Gu family has no one else, they still have us old neighbors. It's not your place to yell at us bastards."

"Didn't the factory tell you to leave immediately? What are you still doing here? You're just occupying the toilet without doing anything."

"Like father, like son. Can the people in the factory office even do their job? They can't even handle this simple matter. There are still many people in the factory waiting to be allocated housing."

Zhang Yanqing's worst fears have come true. They can buy new things, but if they lose their house, they won't even have a place to stay.

"You bunch of despicable people! My mother and second uncle's affairs haven't been settled yet, and you're already in such a hurry to kill them all. Aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning?" Although Zhang Yanhong was younger, she was the most vicious of them all. If it weren't for her instigation behind the scenes, the original owner wouldn't have suffered so much.

Seeing that they were still clinging to a last shred of hope, Gu An'an directly exposed the truth, "I just came out of the police station, and they have already admitted to the fact that they committed indecent acts."

Zhang Yanhong was filled with hatred! She hated that the two of them weren't stubborn enough, but she didn't realize that the things they found were irrefutable evidence. Even if Wang Meihua didn't admit to being with Zhang Changsheng, they would still have to find another lover.

Just then, the factory office staff arrived.

“Zhang Yanqing, you are the oldest, you should understand that even if you keep occupying this house, it doesn’t belong to you. We are only trying to persuade you out of kindness because we all lived in the same residential compound. If you don’t listen, we will have to call the police.”

They were all afraid when they heard that the police would be called.

The man shook his head helplessly. If he didn't pressure them, he would only drive himself to his death. Heaven knows how many people had pressured him for these two houses.

“Wang Meihua and Zhang Changsheng have already been fired from the factory. The notice will be posted soon. There’s no point in you staying any longer.”

The siblings exchanged a glance, both seeing despair in each other's eyes.

Gu An'an watched, a cold smile playing on her lips. Was this all the despair she'd found? The real show was yet to come.

It's a bit of a pity that she won't be able to see the excitement.

Just as I was thinking this, another unfamiliar voice rang out from the stairwell, "Excuse me, does Wang Meihua from the machinery factory live this way?"

The elderly woman who was asked immediately nodded, "Who are you? What do you need Wang Meihua for?"

A gossipy look unconsciously emanated from their eyes; they all wanted to know what other earth-shattering things Wang Meihua could do.

"Oh, I'm not looking for her, I'm looking for her son and daughter."

The crowd made way for them, pointing to Zhang Yanqing and her group, saying, "These are the ones."

The woman in the lead frowned as she looked at the three siblings, whose faces were filled with anger. "Zhang Yanqing, Zhang Yanhong, Zhang Xiaojun?"

The three nodded warily.

“I’m from the office for sent-down youth. I heard that none of the three of you have jobs, so I came here specifically to deliver your notices of going to the countryside.”

“I have a job,” Zhang Yanqing said first.

The woman in the lead showed no surprise at her reaction. "Don't get agitated. I just came from your workplace. I heard you've been fired, and according to current policy, you're on the list for being sent to the countryside."

Zhang Yanqing was shocked that the other party had even found out about her being fired. Now she was truly panicked.

She came from the countryside and knew all too well what life was like there. Of course, she didn't want to suffer in the countryside, let alone in an unfamiliar place. If she had known this would happen, she would have gone back to the village much earlier. Why was she staying here and stubbornly clinging to this place?

As soon as the idea popped into her head, Zhang Yanqing grasped at it like it was the last straw: "I'll go back to the village. I'm originally from the countryside, I don't need to go back."

Although there is no one left in their hometown, the house can still be lived in after some minor repairs. More importantly, there are relatives in the village who will surely prevent the three siblings from starving to death.

The woman shook her head, shattering her last illusion, "Your household registrations are all in the city now."

They had to beg for this. When they first came to the city, they were unhappy that Gu An'an, who was also Zhang Changsheng's child, had a city identity, while they were called country bumpkins every day. They begged for several days before Zhang Changsheng reluctantly spent money to get their household registrations transferred to the city.

Little did I know that it would become a death warrant.

The three of them panicked. They had no money, no belongings, and no family to help them. How were they going to survive if they went to the countryside?
