Chapter 106 The Myriad Realms, Chapter Sixty-Five

The dimly lit, dilapidated passage seemed to have no end; no matter how fast Number One ran, he could never reach the end of the passage.

Fortunately, the passageway is not a straight line, but rather winding, and every few meters, there are two opposing doors on either side of the passageway.

It was the existence of these doors that allowed Number One to escape the pursuit of the red-clad figure, and occasionally food and water would appear in the rooms.

However, he was not as lucky as before. During his escape, the doors in the passage were all locked from the inside, and those seemingly fragile doors were actually as hard as iron.

In his current normal form, he has no way of breaking down these locked doors.

Moreover, the red-clad figure behind him was still closing in, and was now less than five meters away.

Every now and then, he would glance at the red-clad figure behind him that was about to touch him. His forehead was covered in sweat, and his loose-fitting shirt clung tightly to his body because of the cold sweat on his back. A feeling of itchiness and fear kept surging into his heart.

"Ahhh, stop chasing me! Even if I die, I can't die with my back to the enemy!"

Looking back at the red-clad figure less than three meters away, Number One roared furiously, his face contorted with rage.

He was almost exhausted. Since he was going to die anyway, he figured it was better to face the enemy head-on and fight bravely than to be killed from behind while running away. Even if he knew he was no match for them, he would rather die at their hands than on the way out.

Recklessness is closer to courage than cowardice!

Just as Number One slowed down, preparing for a final battle with the red-clad figure that was getting extremely close behind him, a door on the left side of the passage not far ahead opened from the inside.

And a figure was waving its arms, seemingly shouting something at you.

Although it was unknown whether the figure was human, Number One had no other choice but to place all his hopes on the figure waving its arms in front of him being human.

"Hey, come here! It's safe here. Keep going, hurry up! Hurry up!"

Now less than ten meters away from the figure, Number One finally saw the figure's appearance clearly and heard what the person was saying.

The figure appeared to be an ordinary-looking adult male, around thirty years old, who kept leading him into the room, which seemed to be safe.

Number One immediately exerted all his strength and frantically ran towards the door on the left side of the passage where the person was.

At this point, he couldn't think straight anymore. Regardless of whether the middle-aged man in front of him was a monster in disguise, he could only choose to believe that he was not a monster, but a kind-hearted human being.

After all, even if the person in front was a monster in disguise, at worst he would just die. Anyway, even if he stopped, he couldn't escape the clutches of the red-clad figure behind him.

Number One looked at the door, which was very close, and subconsciously glanced back.

Startled, he immediately turned his head. The red-clad figure was already close to his body, and the pale arms, like those of a zombie, were almost touching the clothes clinging to his back.

With a gritted teeth, Number One seemed to exert every ounce of strength he had, veins bulging on his forehead, arms swinging back and forth, and his rapidly running legs appearing almost like afterimages.

Finally, just as Number One felt the pale fingers of the red-clad figure touch him, he was less than half a meter away from the door.

The middle-aged man in the room seemed to know about Number One's situation, and he immediately stretched out his arm, as if asking Number One to pull him along.

Looking at the arm so close to his face, and remembering the red-clad figure behind him who had already touched him, Number One didn't think about anything at the moment and directly placed his hand on the outstretched palm in front of him without hesitation.

Seeing that Number One had placed his hand in his, the middle-aged man did not disappoint Number One.

He felt a tremendous force erupt from the middle-aged man's arm, and before Number One could even react in disbelief, he was dragged into the room by the man. After pulling Number One into the room, the man swiftly closed the door again.
