Xia Baozhu transmigrated into a book she once read. Her identity in this world is the cannon fodder ex-wife who died early of the male protagonist, the richest man. In order to not be a stumbling b...
The Sun family's kitchen was small, and with Sun's mother and eldest daughter-in-law both busy, plus Xia Baozhu, there was simply not enough room to move around.
She decided to work outside.
Sun Xingyan helped Xia Baozhu carry the cutting board and ingredients to the restaurant outside.
Soak the white fungus, and the glutinous rice was soaked in advance. All that's left is to peel the pumpkin and yam.
"Wife, let me try." Sun Xingyan took the pumpkin from Xia Baozhu's hand.
Pumpkin skin is easy to peel, but yam is more troublesome because its sap can easily cause allergies and make the skin itchy after getting on it.
Xia Baozhu took two thick sheets of paper, wrapped the yam in them, and carefully peeled it.
"Wife, you tell me what to do, I'll do it." Sun Xingyan grabbed the snow-white yam from Xia Baozhu's hand.
"Don't touch it directly with your hands." Xia Baozhu didn't let go. "Go wash your hands quickly."
Sun Xingyan clearly hadn't done much work before, and Xia Baozhu told him not to bother her.
Having been relegated to the sidelines, Sun Xingyan could only play chess with his elderly father.
Xia Baozhu's two desserts are simple and delicious, with a light and refreshing sweetness that is not greasy.
The pumpkin rice is sticky and chewy with the crisp texture of white fungus, while the yam, which also has a crisp texture, offers another sweet flavor.
It was especially popular with everyone, particularly Sun Xingyan, who fought with his nephew for the last piece of pumpkin, their chopsticks vying for it.
Xia Baozhu couldn't bear to look at it and gave the pumpkin to Lele.
“Wife, you should side with me,” Sun Xingyan complained, displeased.
"I'll make you another one tomorrow," Xia Baozhu said softly.
After hearing this, Sun Xingyan smiled smugly at his nephew.
The others took it all in stride and ate their own meals.
After having New Year's Eve dinner, we watch the Spring Festival Gala, and after the Gala, we go downstairs to set off fireworks.
Sun Xingyan's playmates all came out and played until eleven o'clock before Xia Baozhu finally said she wanted to go home.
“Let’s stay here. It’s too cold to go back now, and I’ll feel bad for you being home alone.” Sun Xingyan had already prepared his words.
Xia Baozhu glared at him, but finally agreed to let him stay.
However, she slept in the bed, while Sun Xingyan slept on the sofa.
“We’re already married, if I sleep on the sofa, my family will laugh at me. Honey, can we sleep on the floor?” Sun Xingyan pleaded.
"Didn't you say I was a guest in your house? If I am a guest, shouldn't I avoid suspicion?"
Listening to the deafening sound of firecrackers and watching the white mist exhaled as she spoke, Xia Baozhu said softly.
"That's not how it works. How can you be a guest?"
Sun Xingyan was now caught in the crossfire of his earlier actions. He thought Xia Baozhu had misunderstood him, so he quickly tried to explain.
"By 'guest,' I mean the way you are treated when doing housework. You should treat them like guests."
"Did I misunderstand?"
"Yes, we are a legally married couple who have registered our marriage. You are not a guest; you are the master of this house."
Sun Xingyan emphasized the words "legally married couple," trying to make Xia Baozhu understand the hidden meaning in his words.
Back home, Sun Xingyan quietly went to his parents' room and found an old set of bedding that he had used before; thankfully, they hadn't thrown it away.
Sun's mother asked a question in a daze, but when she heard it was her son's voice, she went back to sleep.
Xia Baozhu's toiletries had been prepared long ago, and they were all new. Needless to say, Sun Xingyan had been looking forward to this day for a long time.
"Wife, are you cold?" Sun Xingyan lay on the ground, turning to look at the bulging back on the bed, his heart pounding.
Having a wife who is too strong has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, right now, if his wife disagrees, he doesn't dare to cross the line. It's so pitiful.
His brothers didn't have to go through all that trouble like him.
They've already registered their marriage, which is legally recognized, so sleeping in the same bed isn't considered indecent.
"It's not cold." Xia Baozhu didn't feel as uncomfortable as she had imagined when she changed beds.
"I'm cold." Sun Xingyan reached out and patted the bed. "Wife, feel it."
"Take out your coat and down jacket and cover yourself with them, then you won't be cold." Xia Baozhu smiled in the darkness.
She knew that Sun Xingyan wouldn't just go to sleep quietly.
"It's because the ground is cold."
"Put your down jacket down underneath," Xia Baozhu continued, offering him advice.
Sun Xingyan got up, leaned over the bed, and grabbed Xia Baozhu's hand that was on the quilt.
"I'm really cold, honey, feel it for yourself."
Xia Baozhu fought off her sleepiness and listened to Sun Xingyan calling her name again and again without getting annoyed. Instead, she found it amusing to tease him.
"How about we switch places? You sleep on the bed, and I'll sleep on the floor."
"Honey, can't we both sleep in the bed? I promise I'll behave and won't disturb your sleep."
"cannot."
The reason for her disagreement was that Xia Baozhu had always had concerns; she was afraid that she would have a stress reaction when she slept.
For example, if Sun Xingyan suddenly touches her, and she unconsciously slaps him back, the outcome could be unpredictable.
"Why?" Sun Xingyan thought Xia Baozhu might have some psychological trauma.
"I'm afraid I might accidentally hit you," Xia Baozhu said with her eyes closed.
"How will you know you can hit me if you don't try? Are we going to sleep separately for the rest of our lives because of this assumption?"
Sun Xingyan understood Xia Baozhu's concerns and immediately got up and went to bed.
"I thought you were disgusted with me."
Sun Xingyan chuckled. He tried to lift the covers and get in, but Xia Baozhu stopped him.
"Take your blanket and sleep over there, away from me."
The excited smile froze on his face until it slowly disappeared. Disappointed, Sun Xingyan got up and picked up the quilt from the ground.
The ups and downs were so exciting!
The two were about a meter apart, and Sun Xingyan insisted on holding Xia Baozhu's hand as they slept.
What a bizarre sleeping position! Xia Baozhu thought to herself.
