Transmigrated into an 80s Pretty Widow, Remarrying the Military Officer Brother-in-Law

This novel features transmigration, double purity, a sweet, pure-yet-seductive socially anxious beauty versus a deep-minded, outwardly warm but inwardly cold military officer. It's a sweet, dot...

Chapter 50, Who Bought the Matches? (2/2)

There was only one box next to the stove. Tang Huan stood up and opened the drawer under the table where the thermos was placed.

There was a stack of matches in the drawer. She put them down and counted them. Including the one on the stove, there were ten in total.

If the matches were not bought by her, then Meng Zeyan bought them. Could he be afraid that she would not have enough when lighting the fire?

My pride is hurt! Really!

Xing Cui said disdainfully, "Those were bought by your brother. A grown-up man doesn't even know how to buy things. He has so many matches, isn't he afraid that they'll get damp if he keeps them for too long?"

Tang Huan thought about how quickly she used up the matches. If she was the one making the fire for the next two or three days, the matches would not have a chance to get damp.

It’s better not to mention that she used many matches but failed to light the fire. She also has to save face.

······

Meng Qinghe has taken leave from the factory these days. He should have retired at his age, but he felt that retirement was too boring, so he discussed with the factory whether he could go back to work.

It just so happened that the factory was reluctant to let him retire, and he was willing to continue working, so the two sides hit it off and re-hired him.

After being rehired, Comrade Meng Qinghe's career seemed to have a second spring. He was more dedicated to his work and rarely came to work late or left early.

I rarely take leave, so I rushed to work early the next morning.

Tang Huan, a high school student, was actually the second earliest person to get up in her family. She first went out to buy breakfast for her mother-in-law, and then prepared to go out to take the bus to school.

When passing by Wei's house, he saw Wei coming out of the house carrying a huge bag. The bag was so big that Tang Huan suspected he was moving.

"Today is my first day setting up a stall." Perhaps noticing Tang Huan's gaze, Wei Ye explained with a smile.

Tang Huan nodded, smiled and said, "Come on."

Then he jogged out of the alley, running faster for fear of missing the bus.

Meng Zeyan was away for several days and did not come back on Sunday.

Xing Cui called him, but no one answered at home, no matter when.

Knowing that as a soldier she might be called on to go on a mission at any time, Xing Cui was not too anxious and just made a phone call every day.

Tang Huan was particularly concerned about her mother-in-law's daily phone calls, and she would ask every day whether the call had gone through.

Tang Huan had previously promised Feng Sisi that he would go watch her ice skating, so Feng Sisi made an appointment for this Sunday, and Sun Qiyang also asked Meng Zeyan to tell Tang Huan to meet at the ice rink on Sunday.

After breakfast on Sunday, Tang Huan went out and took the bus to find Feng Sisi, and then went to the ice rink together.

It was just past ten in the morning when I arrived at the skating rink. As soon as I entered, I saw Sun Qiyang standing by the shoe rental counter.

Sun Qiyang didn't know if Tang Huan would come. He didn't have her contact information, and he didn't know if Brother Meng had delivered the message. He had been waiting here since early morning, not worried that she wouldn't come, but worried that he wouldn't see her if she came.

Feng Sisi went over to rent shoes, and Tang Huan followed her.

Sun Qiyang smiled at them, turned to the shoe rental staff and said that the rental would be free for both of them from now on.

The staff brought Feng Sisi the right size of shoes, then turned around and asked Tang Huan what size he was wearing.

Tang Huan shook his head, “I don’t wear it, I just watch from the sidelines.”

She had another purpose for coming today, to say thank you. Last time in the hospital, she didn't have time to say thank you to Sun Qiyang.

"Why not wear it? I remember you were planning to learn ice skating last time?" Sun Qiyang asked curiously. He wanted to teach her.

Tang Huan smiled and said honestly, "I'm afraid of pain. Falling hurts too much." This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
