Chapter 111 Treatment

Lin Li's heart sank; she knew how serious Mr. Yu's father's illness was.

Before coming, she spent an afternoon in the library of B University's medical school, searching through medical books in hopes of finding a suitable prescription, but she found nothing.

Now we can only wait until we see the patient, and then combine that with the medical skill books we redeemed from the space to make a comprehensive decision.

While I was still pondering how to handle the case, the flight attendant's sweet voice rang out in the cabin, reminding passengers to fasten their seatbelts as the plane was about to land.

Lin Li took a deep breath and looked out the window.

Below, Hong Kong resembles a pearl embedded in the blue sea, with skyscrapers densely packed together and streets interwoven like a spider web.

The glass curtain walls of those buildings reflected the sunlight so brightly that it was hard to open one's eyes.

The plane began its descent, and the fuselage shook slightly.

Lin Li gripped the handrail tightly, her palms sweating profusely.

Mr. Yu patted her on the shoulder: "Don't be nervous, we'll be there soon."

His voice carried a subtle hint of reassurance.

With a soft "bang," the plane landed smoothly on the runway.

We've finally arrived!

The people in the cabin began packing their luggage. They were sitting in first class and could disembark as soon as the plane came to a stop.

As we stepped out of the cabin with Mr. Yu, a wave of humid, hot air hit us, a stark contrast to the dry winds of Beijing.

Lin Li subconsciously pulled her clothes tighter, but felt even hotter.

The airport terminal was bustling with people of all skin colors, speaking different languages.

Flight information scrolls across the electronic screen.

"We'll collect our luggage first, then go through customs."

Lin Li nodded and followed behind Mr. Yu.

She looked around at everything, feeling both strange and familiar.

The airport floor was so shiny it reflected her image.

In the distant duty-free shop, a dazzling array of goods were neatly arranged, including beautifully packaged cosmetics and perfumes from brands she had used in her previous life.

After collecting their luggage, they headed towards the customs checkpoint.

The checkpoints here are more modern, with electronic devices beeping.

The uniformed customs officers quickly checked the documents, their faces expressionless.

Lin Li handed over the pass.

The customs officer took the pass, quickly glanced at it, then looked up at Lin Li and asked in Mandarin with a Cantonese accent.

What brings you to Hong Kong?

"I'm here with Mr. Yu to see a doctor for his father. I'm a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner," Lin Li said calmly.

The customs officer said "oh," typed a few things on the computer, and then returned the pass to her.

"Alright, let's go."

As she walked out of customs, she looked at Mr. Yu and saw him standing in front of a private car.

"Dr. Lin, over here!"

Lin Li walked in his direction.

He opened the back door, covered the roof with his hand, and waited for Lin Li to get in first.

Lin Li had just sat down when he quickly followed.

After putting their suitcases in the back of the car, Awei quickly got into the passenger seat.

"Go to Repulse Bay."

Mr. Yu said to the driver, then turned to Lin Li and said, "My father lives there."

The car drove away from the airport, and Lin Li looked out the window at the street scenes rushing by.

The banyan trees lining both sides of the road are lush and green, with branches and leaves almost touching the ground.

The colorful shop signs along the street, flashing neon lights, formed a stark contrast to the gloomy streets of Beijing.

Fashionably dressed young people were walking on the street, and their hairstyles and clothes made Lin Li feel refreshed.

Cantonese songs were playing in the car, with upbeat melodies.

She leaned against the car window, watching the ever-changing scenery, comparing it to the Hong Kong movies she had seen in her previous life.

Hong Kong in the 1980s was indeed prosperous!

The car drove through a tunnel, and the outside light suddenly dimmed and then suddenly brightened again.

Lin Li saw a vast blue sea ahead, with beautiful villas standing along the shore.

Mr. Yu pointed to one of the buildings and said, "That's my home."

Lin Li looked in the direction he pointed, and saw that the villa was surrounded by lush green trees, like a castle hidden in a fairyland.

So beautiful!

This gave her the urge to buy a house in the port city!

Actually... we could make a plan.

Lin Li's eyes lit up.

The car drove past a row of beautiful villas and finally stopped in front of the gate.

"Dr. Lin, we've arrived!"

The car door was opened by a man in a black suit.

Mr. Yu got off the car first.

After Lin Li got out of the car, she followed Mr. Yu onto the bluestone path.

The aerial roots of the banyan tree drooped down to its shoulders, damp with the afternoon air.

The villa's white walls were etched with pale yellow patterns by the sea breeze. In the birdcage hanging under the eaves, a thrush fluttered its wings, making the bamboo strips rustle.

Upon seeing them, the maid standing at the door immediately opened the living room door.

The crystal chandelier in the living room hangs very low, and the light shines through prisms, casting tiny spots of light on the carpet.

A splashed-ink landscape painting hangs on the wall, with a seal in the lower left corner that is so red it's almost black.

Lin Li's gaze was drawn to the person on the sofa.

An elderly woman dressed in a moon-white silk shirt was picking out bird's nests with a silver pick. When she saw them come in, she gently tapped the porcelain bowl on the tray, making a clinking sound.

"Awen is back."

The old woman spoke very standard Mandarin, with a long, drawn-out ending.

She looked up, and Lin Li noticed that the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes were filled with fine gold powder.

Mr. Yu nodded and tilted his chin towards the stairwell.

Is Dad awake?
