The old man followed them off the elevator, hiding in the shadows and watching the two figures leave.

This old man is Shi Dechang, Shi Xi's grandfather. He has been searching for another medium for time travel. By chance, he overheard Chong Xi's words, and it is very likely that she is the person he is looking for.

Inside the room, Chongxi started making a fuss, insisting that she wasn't from here.

After saying that, she lay down on the bed and fell fast asleep.
