Chapter 133 The Long Road to Winning Back His Wife

The moment he touched the handkerchief, Qi Yu's hand was still trembling slightly, and he frantically told himself to endure it.

At this moment, Li Xiaoxiao also came out of the room. She saw Qi Yu sitting straight in the chair and was immediately furious. How could she have fallen for such a scumbag?

Even though he was just sitting there, his incredibly handsome face was still captivating, along with his pained eyes.

Knowing she had come out, the man, who had been sitting upright and completely absorbed in his work, quickly turned to look at her. "My wife, you've finally come out. What are your plans for today?"

Qi Yu subconsciously went to arrange things for Li Xiaoxiao, but she suddenly felt something was wrong. They should just be strangers. Did she want to be killed again?

"This is none of your business. By the way, Qi Yu, since things have come to this, we should each go to our own rooms from now on, and we don't need to sleep together like we did last night."

Li Xiaochu's words still stung her heart, but now it was time for her to make a choice.

Jiang Wanwan has been feeling rather uneasy lately. She keeps feeling that something is off about her, but then she wonders if she's just imagining things...

"Miss Jiang? Miss Jiang?" The man opposite her called out two or three times, noticing her vacant eyes and that she seemed lost in thought.

"Um... I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention just now and didn't hear what you said. Could you say it again?" Jiang Wanwan snapped out of her daze and quickly apologized to her blind date.

This was the third blind date her family had arranged for her this month. She sighed. Come to think of it, she was already twenty-five or twenty-six, and it was indeed time for her to get married.

"Miss Jiang, it's like this, I'm very satisfied with you, how about we give it a try? My family owns a listed company, we're a perfect match..." the man said eloquently.

Jiang Wanwan felt inexplicably irritated. Come to think of it, this man did indeed fit her aesthetic ideal—tall, slender, and upright, just like...that person...

With a "bang," the teacup in her hand fell to the ground, and the tea seeped into her shoes, rolling around on the ground a few times.

She rubbed her temples. She must have been too tired lately, otherwise why would she suddenly think of such a person?

"Miss Jiang? Are you alright?" the man opposite asked with concern.

"Sorry, I have something to do. Let's call it a day. I've already paid the bill." Jiang Wanwan picked up her bag and left.

The autumn rain, carrying a hint of coolness, pattered against her face. Jiang Wanwan couldn't help but turn around; she had felt someone watching her from behind since earlier.

However, there was nothing behind him except a low wall that was about to be demolished.

She sighed, a hint of fatigue showing on her delicate face; perhaps she had been too tired lately.

As she approached her front door and reached the entrance, she impatiently kicked off her wet high heels and went inside barefoot.

Just then, a strong wind picked up and dark clouds gathered. She remembered the clothes she had hung out to dry that morning and worried that they might be blown away by the wind. She hurriedly ran to the balcony, only to find that the rack was empty and there were no clothes on it.

Was it blown away by the wind? Or did she really not hang the clothes out to dry? Jiang Wanwan felt a little uncertain.

She hung her head dejectedly, clenching her hands helplessly. Was she really in a daze?

The phone rang, and Jiang Wanwan glanced at the contact name. It was her mother, probably asking about the outcome of her blind date. She felt helpless.

"Hello? Mom?"

"Wanwan, what's wrong with you today? What a nice young man, why did you reject him? What did he do to you that you didn't like?" Her mother's barrage of voices came from across the room, making her head buzz.

Jiang Wanwan sighed, knowing her mother would nag for a while longer. She put her phone in the living room, shuffled into the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and grabbed a cold drink.

No, something seems off... someone drank her entire bottle of beverage.

Jiang Wanwan clutched the obviously empty bottle of yogurt, fear instantly gripping her mind.

"Who? Who's here?!" she shouted sharply, only realizing her mistake after she spoke. With her small frame, who could she possibly fight? If someone with ill intentions was really in her house, her shout would have put her in danger.

Large beads of sweat slid down her forehead. Jiang Wanwan looked into the shadows of the inner room, fear gripping her body, making her unable to even pick up the kitchen knife from the cutting board for self-defense.

After waiting for a long time, there was no sound, as if it was all just her imagination.

She still didn't dare to relax, thinking that she should move back home to live with her parents tomorrow. Although her parents were very nagging, it was safer than living alone.

Or should we go there tonight?

"Wanwan? Wanwan? Why aren't you saying anything?" Jiang Wanwan heard her mother's anxious voice coming from the speakerphone, and only then did she realize that she had forgotten to hang up.

"It's okay, Mom, why don't we keep chatting?" Jiang Wanwan grasped at a straw and didn't dare hang up the phone.

"You're really clingy to me now. I have other things to do, so I'm hanging up now." Before she could say anything, the other end of the phone hung up.

A gust of wind suddenly blew into the empty living room, and Jiang Wanwan shivered. She then realized that the living room window had been left open, and rainwater had already rushed in.

She trembled as she went over and closed the window tightly.

It was getting late, and she angrily threw the pillows off the sofa a long way. Then, feeling a bit childish, she went to sleep sullenly. Lately, she had been so stressed that she hadn't had the energy to take care of herself.
