"Boss." Fan Bai went out first and took the reins from the boss.

Yuan Zhuangtou was holding a lantern. He was startled when he saw a tall, unkempt dark figure. He shone the lantern upwards and recognized the man's face. He exclaimed happily, "My dear! You're back!"

Jiang Nian nodded and turned sideways to face the car. "Well, I brought back two calves, and there are five sheep on the car. You can feed them with warm water first, and then give them some food."

"Two sheep died this morning. We'll skin them tomorrow and make two pots of mutton soup for everyone."

As for the few good furs left, they were all on his back.

Yuan Zhuangtou leaned over and saw these drooping sheep and two cows standing on the ground. He smiled from ear to ear. "Young Master is really capable! I've never heard of anyone in this area who can get sheep and cows like this!"

Although they look skinny, it's probably because they were tossed around on the road and haven't gained any weight. No problem, they'll fatten up in a few months on their farm! These two calves will be perfect for next year's spring plowing!

"Oh! All right, my dear. Don't worry, we understand!"

After Jiang Nian gave them instructions, he couldn't wait to go in, and just happened to run into Jiang Yue who was rushing out.

Looking at her bulging belly, Jiang Nian was terrified. "Yueyue, don't move. I'll go over. It's getting dark, so go slowly!"

Jiang Yue's heart finally settled down when she saw the people returning safely.

She wiped her wet eyes and walked back to the yard holding his hand.

"Are you hungry? Go wash your hands and eat, then take a good bath after you've eaten."

Jiang Nian held her hand tightly and slowed down his pace. "Well, after we finish eating, I'll tell you about the journey."

Aunt Yuan was horrified to see her husband; he looked like a refugee. His clothes were tattered, covered in mud and dried blood.

Jiang Nian himself couldn't stand it anymore. He asked Aunt Yuan to get a few more buckets of water and went into the bathroom to take a shower first.

Jiang Yue was worried that the floor would be slippery, so she sat at the table and let the noodles cool down for him first.

Jiang Nian changed buckets of water one after another, rubbed himself thoroughly with soap, and shaved off his beard. Only then did he feel relaxed all over.

Jiang Yue asked Aunt Yuan and her daughter to go back to the servants' room to sleep first, and touched the fox and rabbit skins he brought back.

When he came out of the shower, wearing only a pair of shorts, Jiang Yue's eyes became red again.

Jiang Nian has lost a lot of weight and his face is even thinner. He must have suffered a lot.

"Come and eat."

Jiang Nian ate voraciously, finishing the entire bowl of noodles on the table before starting to eat other dishes and meat.

"Okay. Leave these dishes for Aunt Yuan to wash tomorrow. Let's go upstairs and rest."

Jiang Nian looked at her belly, picked her up sideways, and walked back to their house quietly.

Lying back on the big bed, Jiang Nian hugged the person in his arms and took a deep breath. He missed the smell of her body so much.

Jiang Yue leaned sideways, being careful not to press on her stomach, and leaned on his chest. She had a lot to say just now, but now she was silent, enjoying the quiet moment.

Jiang Nian keenly noticed that her mood was not right. He placed a kiss on her forehead, caressing her smooth forehead with his soft lips. "Yueyue, what's wrong? Are you unhappy?"

Jiang Yue lowered her head. "If it weren't for my sudden idea, you wouldn't have to suffer and stay outside for so long. You've never gone out alone before. It's all my fault..."

Jiang Nian could feel a wetness on his chest, and her voice was nasal with self-condemnation.

"Yueyue, is the child mine?"

Jiang Yue didn't say anything.

"You just told me to go hunting. I went to the grassland on my own initiative. It's my fault that I haven't come back for such a long time. Why are you taking the blame on yourself?"

Jiang Nian sighed. This was the first time they had been apart for so long, and he felt really bad.
