Chapter 30 Paying Back the Debt

Mu Jin refused without hesitation, saying, "Thanks, but I can't eat when I see you."

Su Yi continued, "No, sister-in-law! Please give me a chance to apologize. We're family after all. Once this misunderstanding is cleared up, we can still be a loving family."

Mu Jin sneered: "Heh~ Who cares about being part of your family? Don't try to make yourself look good. Even if you were before, you won't be anymore. Don't waste your energy trying to maintain this crumbling family relationship."

Su Yi was taken aback: "What you said about it not happening soon, sister-in-law? You wouldn't make Third Brother cut ties with me just because you dislike me, would you?"

Mu Jin felt that Su Yi, a grown man, was more talkative than a woman. She secretly resented the size of the palace and the fact that the journey had taken longer than the trip there. She wondered if the eunuch had led her astray.

Mu Jin couldn't help but walk forward impatiently, taking two quick steps forward and saying to the young eunuch, "Sir, are you leading us the wrong way? Why haven't we reached the palace gate yet after walking for so long?"

The young eunuch replied, "Your Highness, this is the closest road to leaving the palace."

Mu Jin felt a little annoyed, thinking to herself, "It's not that the road is far, it's just that there's an annoying person by my side that makes the road seem difficult."

Ignoring Mu Jin's apparent reluctance to speak to him, Su Yi continued to shamelessly press himself against her.

"Sister-in-law, please give me some face. What do you want? I'll give it to you as an apology, how about that?"

This is really annoying. Hearing this, Mu Jin stopped and looked at Su Yi with a cold smile.

"You said it, you'd give me whatever I want."

Hearing Mu Jin's tone, Su Yi touched his nose, wondering if he had agreed too casually, but he still stubbornly insisted.

"Of course, as long as it can appease your anger, I'll give you anything that can be bought in the capital."

Mu Jin grinned mischievously: "Very good!"

Qing'er waited anxiously for Mu Jin outside the palace. She was afraid that Mu Jin would be punished by Shen Rong in the palace and did not know when she would be able to come out. She paced back and forth anxiously in front of the carriage.

Every now and then, he would instinctively glance towards the palace gate once or twice.

This time, she finally saw Mu Jin's figure appear in front of the palace gate, with Su Yi beside her. She was stunned for a moment.

Qing'er immediately stepped forward and bowed to Su Yi, saying, "May Your Majesty be blessed."

Su Yi nodded and smiled at her.

Qing'er walked towards Mu Jin and saw that Mu Jin seemed to have no signs of being punished, so she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sister-in-law, please go first. I'll follow in the car behind." Su Yi said, looking at Mu Jin with his alluring peach blossom eyes.

Mu Jin didn't show it on her face, but she sneered inwardly, "Fine." Then, as she got into the carriage, she told the driver to go directly to Shuyu Tower.

Qing'er asked doubtfully, "Sister, it's already time for dinner. Let's go back and eat first. If we want to go to Shuyu Tower, we can choose another time to go another day, okay?"

Mu Jin said, "Someone has generously donated money today to apologize to me. If I don't accept this kindness, I would be letting them down."

Qing'er asked suspiciously, "You want to go to Shuyu Tower to kill King Yi?"

Mu Jin nodded and said, "He came to me so eagerly to apologize, I can't let his filial piety go to waste, can I?"

Qing'er, sensing Mu Jin's intention to ruthlessly kill Su Yi, couldn't help but happily say, "Then Miss, you must accept King Yi's filial piety."

The master and servant chatted and laughed in the carriage, and soon arrived at Shuyulou on Zhenpin Street.

As soon as Su Yi got off the carriage, he saw Mu Jin standing in front of the Shuyu Tower with her maid waiting for him.

When Su Yi saw that Mu Jin wanted to go to Shuyu Tower, he raised an eyebrow, walked towards Mu Jin, and said, "Please, sister-in-law."

When the three of them reached the entrance of Shuyu Tower, Qing'er noticed that Su Yi hadn't stopped to hand over the verification fee, so she reminded him.

"You have to pay silver to get in to King Yi's place."

Upon hearing Qing'er's reminder, Su Yi stopped and turned to Mu Jin and her servant with an embarrassed smile.

"Oh dear, please forgive my rudeness. This is my first time here, and I really don't know the rules. I'll pay right away."

As he spoke, he glanced at the doorman, handed over a thousand taels of silver notes, took the receipt, and then led Mu Jin and her servant into Shuyu Tower.

It was probably lunchtime, as there were no guests in Shuyulou.

Mu Jin asked the attendant beside her, "Where is your most expensive counter?"

The waiter glanced at Su Yi, and Su Yi nodded.

The waiter replied to Mu Jin, "Every item in our Shuyu Pavilion is priceless, and each one is extremely valuable. What specific items are you looking for? I can recommend some to you."

Mu Jin saw the waiter looking at Su Yi before replying to her, and assumed that Su Yi was implying to the waiter not to tell him.

It was lunchtime, and Mu Jin was hungry. She didn't really want anything in particular; she was just there to fleece Su Yi, so she didn't want to waste any time in the building.

Mu Jin walked to the nearest jewelry counter and said to the sales clerk, "I'll take all of these, pack them all up for me."

The waiter was immediately taken aback. He looked at Su Yi, then at Mu Jin, and then said to Mu Jin.

"Please wait a moment, sir. Given that the items you have purchased qualify you as one of our most distinguished customers, I will have our manager come and attend to you."

After the waiter finished speaking, he went upstairs to Zhao Yefan.

When Zhao Yefan heard the servant report that Su Yi had brought a distinguished guest and bought a cabinet full of rare treasures, he immediately jumped up with joy.

Overjoyed, Zhao Yefan assumed that some sucker who wanted to curry favor with Su Yi had brought him money, so he excitedly ran downstairs to see which sucker it was.

When Zhao Yefan came downstairs, he was somewhat taken aback when he saw Mu Jin standing next to Su Yi.

However, given that General Mu's daughter is also the Princess Consort of Yun, she should be able to afford it.
