Chapter 67 Going Mad

Mu Jin went around to the back of the house, lit the firewood in her hand, and threw it onto the roof. The roof was made of thatch, and it caught fire immediately upon contact with an open flame.

Before long, Mu Jin heard the bandits in a panic, shouting and yelling as they ran to fetch water to put out the fire.

Knowing that the bandit stronghold must be in complete chaos, Mu Jin smiled and planned to take advantage of the confusion to escape down the mountain.

Just as she was about to look up, she heard a furious shout.

"So it was you, you bitch, who was behind this! Brothers, help me get her down. Whoever gets her first gets tonight."

The person speaking was none other than the second-in-command who had just been receiving compliments in the main room.

As soon as the second-in-command finished speaking, several bandits rushed towards the direction she was standing.

Mu Jin looked at the bandits rushing towards her, smiled coldly, and with a piece of firewood already tightly gripped in her other hand, she swiftly charged towards the bandits as well. In just a few moves, Mu Jin knocked the bandits to the ground.

The second-in-command knew that Mu Jin had some skills, but he didn't expect that Mu Jin could defeat them all with just a piece of firewood.

How could the second-in-command allow Mu Jin, a woman, to act so recklessly on their territory? He grabbed his knife and immediately tried to rush over and kill Mu Jin.

Unexpectedly, a bandit ran over, crying in terror, and told him that someone had broken into the mountain and was killing people outside, killing half of his brothers.

Upon hearing this, the second-in-command disregarded Mu Jin and hurriedly turned and ran away with the bandit.

Mu Jin was taken aback when she heard the conversation between the bandit and the second-in-command. She wondered who would break into the bandit's den at this hour. Perhaps it was an enemy of the bandits.

Because of the fight with those people, Mu Jin's wrist wounds had become even more severe, and blood was slowly seeping from the wounds.

Sweat soaked Mu Jin's hair, making it messy and sticky against her face. She pursed her lips, silently bent down, picked up the scattered knife from the ground, and walked out from behind the house step by step.

As soon as Mu Jin stepped outside, she smelled the strong stench of blood. Looking up, she saw the vast mountaintop in complete disarray.

The courtyard was littered with the corpses of bandits, their bodies covered in blood. Judging from their fatal wounds, they had all been swiftly and cleanly killed, including the second-in-command who had threatened to take her life just moments before.

Mu Jin squinted, unsure whether the newcomer was friend or foe. Just as she was about to make a run for her life, she saw a man in black, holding a sword in his bare hand, standing at Zhao Dahu's door.

The man's face was splattered with hot, bloody blood. The firelight illuminated half of his outline and his scarlet eyes, making him look like a death-binding demon. Only then did Mu Jin realize that this man was actually Eleven.

Upon seeing the number eleven, Mu Jin was taken aback.

Eleven was utterly dejected, unable to find Mu Jin anywhere on the mountaintop, when he suddenly spotted her standing amidst the chaos. He was momentarily dazed, until Mu Jin called out to him, "Eleven!"

Upon hearing Mu Jin's voice, he seemed still in a dream, murmuring, "Miss," but his eyes were filled with desolation.

Mu Jin noticed that something was wrong with Eleven and immediately went over to her.

Mu Jin, who had walked to Eleven's side, called his name softly once more.

Eleven stared blankly at Mu Jin. Mu Jin raised her head slightly, reached out her hand, and used her sleeve to wipe the blood off Eleven's face.

When the blood was wiped away, revealing Eleven's handsome face, Mu Jin realized that the blood was not Eleven's, but rather blood splattered from the bandits' bodies onto his face.

Mu Jin's call seemed to awaken Eleven, and he finally responded, his scarlet eyes filled with tears.

Eleven lowered his head slightly, glanced at Mu Jin, and slowly stroked Mu Jin's swollen lips with trembling hands. At this moment, he longed to hold Mu Jin tightly in his arms and feel her warmth and reality, but how could he, who was covered in filth, taint her?

Eleven stood quietly beside Mu Jin, and tears welled up in his bloodshot eyes as his trembling body slid down his cheeks.

This was the first time Mu Jin had ever seen Eleven like this. She watched Eleven trembling uncontrollably and thought to herself that if she died this time, the man in front of her might really feel sorry for her.

Her heart softened, and she slowly embraced Eleven's trembling body.

It wasn't until Mu Jin hugged Shi Yi that Shi Yi stopped trembling and stiffened, letting Mu Jin hold him like that with his arms hanging down.

"Are you here to find me? Don't be afraid, I'm here. Didn't you teach me martial arts? They can't hurt me."

Eleven didn't speak, but heard Mu Jin say those reassuring words. He involuntarily relaxed and instantly slumped down. Mu Jin, unaware, didn't even catch Eleven, and they both knelt on the ground.

Looking at the exhausted Eleven, Mu Jin couldn't help but ask, "What happened? Were you injured just now?"

Shiyi looked at Mujin and finally showed a gentle smile, saying that she was fine.

Mu Jin looked Eleven up and down again and noticed that the back of his head was a little damp. When she touched it, she found that her hand was covered in blood.

Mu Jin was about to say something when Eleven interrupted her.

"It's alright, these are just minor injuries for me, they'll be fine in a day or two."

After speaking, he hesitated for a moment, then gently took Mu Jin's hand. Looking at Mu Jin's wrist, which was cut and mangled by the rope and shards of the teacup, a hint of ferocity appeared in his gentle eyes.

The head injury on Eleven was caused by the second-in-command hitting the back of his head with a chair during the fight with the bandits. However, as he said, he had a special constitution, and this injury was nothing to him.
