A system, sweet romance, beast world, ancient times, and N...P!
I was preparing to go on a trip when I opened my eyes at the boarding gate and transmigrated to the beast world. This is a good...
A mob is a mob, a group of people unfit to be kings; when they get mixed up together, they only cause more trouble.
Life wasn't easy for anyone in Yushan to begin with, but they were lucky. Randy drove away the wandering orcs, and now the north is empty. Yushan's location is good, so their lives haven't been affected yet.
In order to gain greater power, they would still consider returning to Beast City. Not returning meant merely being a chieftain of a free tribe, which they looked down upon, yet they would still publicly proclaim themselves Beast Kings, forcibly adding a layer of prestige to their image.
Lin Lin had an honest orc take the herbs to Arthur and the others.
He kept the news a secret, and no one knew where Arthur and the others were, for fear that Arthur might seek revenge for the many people he had offended in the past.
…
In the cave, Arthur, Mickson, and Cangjue lay slumped to one side, utterly dejected, resting on the ground.
Lin Lin sent someone to tell them that the stray beasts had been driven away and Randy had become the Beast King, but there was no news of Guo Xiaoxiao.
And since their movements are restricted, even if they endured the pain and rushed out, they would probably be ambushed and killed before they even reached the halfway point.
Arthur was very weak. Although his wounds had mostly healed, his internal organs were still recovering, making it difficult for him to even stand up and walk, let alone fight.
His only thought now is to find Guo Xiaoxiao; he refuses to believe she would abandon him.
Mikson wasn't in much better shape. He was only slightly injured when he fought his way out of Yushan, but the backlash from the attack caused him continuous pain.
Cang Jue kept his eyes closed, resting. Occasionally, he would exchange a few words with the person who brought in medicine, also trying to gather information. The feeling of becoming a cripple was truly unbearable; it was both painful and exhausting.
Arthur: "Xiaoxiao is definitely in Beast City."
Mickelson: "Of course, Carlos is dead, Randy became the Beast King, and they might even be mates by now."
Cang Jue: "Xiao Xiao has the softest heart. Randy and the others surrounded him and talked him into it. How could he possibly resist? Besides, if we really rescue Xiao Xiao and kill that stinky snake, Guo Xiao Xiao will agree to become partners. We can't stop her."
What a joke! What could they possibly use to stop him? He couldn't withstand Randy's kick.
Arthur: "Lin Lin's location is too remote; even if Xiao Xiao wanted to find him, she wouldn't be able to."
Cang Jue suddenly became energetic.
"There's a way! We can pass the message out."
Arthur: "Who sent the message?"
Cang Jue: "Go and say a few nice words to Lin Lin..."
Arthur interrupted him: "Why should I tell him?"
Cang Jue has always been adept at interpersonal communication. Although he was in great pain, he rallied and went out for a stroll.
After a couple of visits, they got to know Arthur better and figured out his background. It turned out that Arthur was Lin Lin's adopted son, and had always followed Lin Lin in Beast City.
At first, Cang Jue was puzzled as to why the former Beast King would take them in. It turned out it was because of Arthur.
Many things become simpler; it remains to be seen whether Arthur can back down gracefully.
Mickson: "Well, I've heard some gossip too. Arthur, it's up to you now. We can't stay like this forever. We need to wait for Xiaoxiao to join us, and we also need to figure out how to level up again."
Even if the hope is slim, I can't give up. It's better to be dead than to be a useless person for life.
Arthur gritted his teeth; he hated those guys, and he hated his current physical condition.
He still remembered that Lin Lin had sent people to hunt him down and try to kill him in Beast City, so what was going on now that he had changed his ways and was even saving him?
Although he couldn't understand it and didn't want to delve any deeper, he couldn't fight back; even the three of them combined weren't enough to defeat him.
But Arthur's strong sense of pride prevented him from discussing anything with Lin Lin or asking for favors.
…
On the other side
The Beast Kings, still stationed in Feather Mountain, were shamelessly plotting how to return to Beast City...
Eagle King Danze: "We won't clash with Randy. He's the one who drove away the stray beasts. We'll follow his lead and obey his orders. When we return to Beast City, we'll still be the Beast Kings."
Wolf King Yili: "I'm afraid he won't agree. We went a bit too far. Randy isn't easy to get along with, and there's also Abil and Simon, who gave him the advice, and they're all hostile towards us."
Lion King Allen scoffed, "Aren't you two of the same kind? Do you think he wouldn't give you face?"
Wolf King Yili said irritably, "So many of the orcs who voluntarily left the tribe were yours. They went to the Beast City to seek refuge, why don't you ask them to give you face and say a few nice words to let you in?"
Lion King Allen: "No matter how many of my men I lose, it's not as many as yours. Your wolf clan doesn't have as many people as us to begin with. If I weren't the one playing forward, could you live peacefully in Feather Mountain?"
Wolf King Yili: "So what if there are more people? Does having more people mean you can fight? You talk like you're so capable. You're still talking about your own people when everyone's almost gone. It's laughable."
Eagle King Danze: "Stop arguing! We're supposed to be discussing how to get back to Beast City, but we haven't even started and you're already arguing."
Allen and Yili turned their faces away, clearly not getting along.
Their strength is far less than before. Previously, many orcs followed them, and with peace reigning and Randy leading the Beast King, many orcs who hadn't yet found mates and were eager for a better future had already embarked on their journey to the Beast City.
More than anything, she simply didn't want to serve those beast kings anymore. They monopolized everything, didn't coordinate any work, and only cared about enjoying themselves.
Danze: "If you ask me, I'd suggest sending someone to sound him out first, along with some red crystal cores, as an apology."
The two had no objections; life here was far more comfortable than in Beast City.
Who will provide the crystal core?
The three looked at each other, none of them willing to contribute more, but in the end they had to compromise and each contribute a few, so that no one could take advantage of the other.
…
Eight days later
Randy sat in the conference room, listening to the message from the people of the small tribe. They said they hoped Beast City could help rebuild their tribe; they were the most severely affected by the attacks from the wandering beasts, and they couldn't rebuild their tribe on their own.
Randy now somewhat understood the Beast King's predicament and could also somewhat comprehend why Lin Lin had made them hand over food.
It's a completely thankless job. Even though he's a Beastmaster, the Horde asks for his help with every little thing. They expect him to do all that for free without giving him something in return.
If you're not going to help, just say so. What kind of beast king are you? If you do help, I'll just thank you.
Although I helped with everything from start to finish, and the food rewards were all paid for by the Beast City, after all, the orcs who helped out wouldn't expect to do it for nothing.
Randy has been really worried these past few days, and he hasn't been sleeping well at night. Guo Xiaoxiao can feel his anxiety.
…
After lunch, Guo Xiaoxiao massaged Randy's temples to relieve his headache. He was so young to be getting migraines; how much stress must he be under?
I didn't want to ask about the Beast City, but seeing Randy's distressed expression, I couldn't help but ask him.
"What have you been busy with lately? Tell me about it."
Randy closed his eyes and enjoyed speaking.
“Every day, more than a dozen tribes come to me, all asking for my help. They're either asking for assistance with reconstruction, requesting support, or even asking herbivorous tribes to borrow people.”
