Chapter 48 Taking a nap

As the initial excitement faded, Lin Momo started to feel sleepy again.

I felt like I had just taken a nap, but it was as if I hadn't slept at all, and it was as if I had just had a fight with someone. I felt sore and weak all over.

I glanced at my phone; it was only a little past four in the morning.

So Lin bent down and retrieved the blanket from the ground, then lay down again with a clear conscience and took a nap.

The next morning.

I woke up promptly at seven o'clock after a night of drinking with a bunch of friends until I was completely drunk.

He grabbed his phone from the bedside table, sent a message to Lin Momo, and then got out of bed, enduring a sharp, stabbing headache.

After a quick shower, I finally felt completely refreshed, and even the hangover symptoms were somewhat relieved.

I brushed my teeth, shaved, and then picked out a white shirt from the closet to put on.

After getting herself ready, Shi Guang picked up her phone again. Not seeing Lin Momo's reply, she couldn't help but smile, thinking to herself that the girl probably hadn't gotten up yet.

He got up so early because he wanted to go to the hotel to have breakfast with Lin Momo.

As a result, that girl didn't give him any face at all and didn't even reply to his messages.

Well, she's just recovered from a serious illness, let her sleep a little longer.

When Shi Guang came downstairs, he saw that his parents were already sitting at the dining table, and the housekeeper was setting the table.

Good morning, Mom and Dad!

"Good morning! I saw you drank so much last night, I thought you were going to sleep a little longer, why are you up so early? Is something wrong today?" The woman, who looked to be in her forties, had a pretty face and looked very young, both in terms of her skin and her clothes.

Shiguang sat down opposite his mother and said, "Yes, I need to go out for a bit."

The old man who was reading a financial newspaper in the main seat put down the newspaper, looked at his son with a serious face and said, "You've had enough fun this time, haven't you? After May Day, you'll go to work at the company."

"Dad, I still have some things to take care of. I'll go to work after I'm done," Shi Guang said, refusing.

When his son disobeyed, the father glared at him with displeasure and then issued an ultimatum: "I'll give you one more week. After that, you'd better go to work."

After saying that, he lowered his head and continued reading the newspaper.

Time vaguely replied, "I know."

"Shiguang, you're not thinking of running away again, are you?" Shi's mother put down the spoon she was using to drink porridge and looked at her son disapprovingly.

Shi Guang smiled and said, "Mom, don't worry, I'll be in Haishi."

"Oh, that's good." Mother Shi was satisfied now and could finally eat her porridge in peace.

Ever since her son went on a road trip, she has been extremely worried. One night, she even dreamed that her son had a car accident, but when she called him, no one answered. She was terrified.

Later, when the phone finally went through and she learned that he was safe and sound, Shi's mother was finally relieved.

On May 2nd, Lin Momo slept in until 10 a.m.

When I woke up, I saw two messages from Shiguang on my phone.

The first message asked if she was awake; the second message said he had arrived at the hotel lobby.

Then I checked the time it was sent: 9:05.

Oh my god!

Has he been waiting for an hour?

"Oh dear, I was so sleepy!" Lin Momo almost jumped out of bed.

Feeling guilty, I quickly replied with a message: Sorry, I took a nap and overslept. I'll be down in fifteen minutes.

Then he jumped out of bed and ran straight to the bathroom.

Lin Momo doesn't have the habit of getting up to take a shower, but she sweated a lot during the night, so she can only make an exception today.

After she finished getting ready, slung her canvas bag over her shoulder, and picked up her phone to leave, she saw that Shiguang had already replied with a message telling her not to rush and to take her time.

Lin Momo couldn't help but smile: "This person is really quite patient!"

Downstairs, in the magnificent hotel lobby.

She had been keeping an eye on the elevator entrance when she saw Lin Momo walk out of the elevator with the crowd. Lin Momo then stood up from the leather sofa by the window, picked up a briefcase, and strode towards her with a cheerful expression.

Upon approaching, he first looked Lin Momo up and down. Seeing that she seemed to be in good spirits, he still asked with some concern, "Didn't you sleep well last night?"

He always remembered the doctor's advice: if the patient experiences any discomfort after being discharged from the hospital, they should seek medical attention promptly and not take it lightly.

"I woke up once at four o'clock. I saw that it was still early, so I thought I'd go back to sleep... and ended up sleeping until now." Lin Momo smiled awkwardly, then asked him, "Were you getting impatient?"

Shi Guang smiled and said, "While I was waiting for you, I took care of something. Let's go, I'll take you to eat."

Glancing at the briefcase in his right hand, Lin Momo realized that he had come prepared.

Well, I can balance work and waiting for her at the same time, which is a good way to manage both my personal and professional life.

This is terrible!

The more I look at this person, the more pleasing they seem to me.

At Lin Momo's insistence, the two left the hotel and instead of going to eat, they went for a walk along the riverbank to enjoy the breeze and scenery.

Firstly, it's too late to eat at this time.

And then... Lin Momo's sentimentality kicked in again.

I feel that going to eat now is practically telling people that I slept in and missed breakfast.

She doesn't want to be so embarrassed.

Besides, Lin Momo had just eaten a super nutritious meal last night, so she didn't feel hungry.

She realized that it's not necessary to miss every single meal.

Sometimes, being hungry is healthier.

Just as people get one or two days off a week, our hard-working digestive system also needs a break to relax and work better and more efficiently.

Time seemed to have been convinced by her twisted logic and fallacies, and thus allowed her to continue.
