Chapter 137 The Male Lead as a Bodyguard in the Apocalypse (5)

Ah Li looked at Duanmu Ye with great pleasure and said, "Good brother, you're awesome!"

Then, with a wave of his hand, he collected all the supplies piled up on the ground like a small mountain.

Seeing how effortlessly Ah Li worked, Duanmu Ye asked, "Can your space hold more?"

Ahri seemed to have given it no thought at all, and said directly, "Sure, I have plenty of space."

Duanmu Ye thought, "This person really doesn't understand the importance of being wary of others."

Then Ahri said, "I'm hungry, go cook some rice."

Duanmu Ye almost laughed. He had just called him a good brother, and now he was ordering him around.

Around midnight, Ahri felt very cold.

She took out a large cotton quilt, but it wasn't enough, so she took out another large cotton quilt, but she still felt cold.

Hearing Ah Li's teeth chattering, Duanmu Ye peeked out from the other side of the bed and asked, "Are you cold?"

Because Duanmu Ye possesses a mutated fire ability, he is always quite warm.

Ahri said sullenly, "Yeah, it's cold."

It seems that the weather has started to turn bad because of the red rain.

Duanmu Ye went downstairs, then walked to the sofa, reached out and touched Ahri's head. It wasn't hot; instead, it was ice cold.

It seems I'm not sick, I'm just really cold.

Ahri peeked half her face out from under the covers, blinked her big eyes, and looked at Duanmu Ye with a slightly puzzled voice, asking, "What... are you doing?"

Duanmu Ye stretched out his hand, and a small flame rose from his palm, saying, "I have fire powers; I'm warm."

Ah Li looked at the small fire; it was somewhat warm, but if she put a small stove next to her, she thought better of it. If the big quilt fell down and caught fire, she wouldn't be able to escape.

So, Ahri shook her head and said, "Since you're so capable, why don't you just use electricity to turn on the car's heater?"

Duanmu Ye thought about it for a moment, and then actually went to turn on the heater inside the car.

But Ahri still felt cold, and then she felt it was too unfair. She came into this world and was given a space, but no special abilities were given to her.

Or, she could go outside and get soaked in the red rain to see if she could awaken her superpowers.

However, the thought of not awakening her powers and instead turning into a zombie from the virus made Ahri decide against it.

It'll be cold for a while, but you'll get through it.

Just as Ah Li was thinking of getting another blanket, Duanmu Ye came over and hugged her and the blanket together.

Ah Li tried to struggle, but Duanmu Ye said, "My body temperature is high. Let's try holding him first. If that doesn't work, we'll think of other ways."

Ahri stopped struggling and said, "Then don't move around."

When Duanmu Ye felt the hair that could prick his face, he said, "We're all grown men, what's there to be afraid of?"

Ah Li stopped talking. It seems that her behavior over the past two days has made Duanmu Ye think she's a boy... right?

Ah Li gradually felt less cold, so she moved slightly and awkwardly said, "Thank you, Duanmu Ye."

Duanmu Ye had already fallen asleep, but when he heard Ah Li's voice, he woke up again and said, "Go to sleep."

Ah Li then fell asleep again, but she was still covered with two large quilts.

Duanmu Ye only covered a little bit, but he still held Ah Li close.

The rain was still pouring down outside the next day.

Ah Li curled up on the sofa, watching Duanmu Ye cook, and said, "Hurry up and cook, it'll keep you warm."

However, with Duanmu Ye sleeping with her last night, it really wasn't so cold.

So, she should still be polite to him.

Duanmu Ye cooked rice, then took out pickled vegetables and fermented bean curd.

Ahri ate with relish, and it was even more delicious when served with boiled water.

After eating and drinking his fill, Ahri wanted to continue sleeping. It was too cold, and Ahri didn't want to move at all.

Then, she stared longingly at Duanmu Ye.

Duanmu Ye pretended not to know anything, and after washing the dishes, he prepared to get out of the car and go for a walk.

But seeing Ahri still staring at him expectantly, he asked knowingly, "What?"

Ahri said, "It's raining and quite cold now, so you shouldn't go out."

"But I'm hot."

With the car heater on and Ah Li, who was carrying two large quilts, Duanmu Ye felt his life was going to be incredibly difficult.

After thinking for a moment, Ah Li said, "Then let's turn off the heating."

Duanmu Ye looked at Ah Li and said, "Aren't you cold?"

"It's cold! It's because you get hot. If I want you to help me warm up, I can't turn on the heater, otherwise you'll get very hot."

Then he felt warm all over, like an electric blanket, providing warmth from time to time.

Duanmu Ye opened the car door and felt that the temperature outside the car was indeed lower than inside. He then closed the car door and walked towards Ah Li.

"Go sleep in the big bed upstairs, the sofa is too cramped."

He didn't sleep well last night either.

I guess I'll just take a nap.

Ah Li nodded immediately, and then quickly put down the big bed. She climbed on it, but the big quilt was still draped over her.

Duanmu Ye followed, and then lay down.

Ahri, wrapped in a blanket, slowly leaned against it.

Duanmu Ye said from behind Ah Li, "How about we take off the blanket?"

Ah Li quickly said, "I think this is fine. I'm afraid of the cold, and you're afraid of the heat. If I cover myself with a blanket, I'll be warmer. If you cover yourself with a blanket, I'm worried you'll sweat later."

Duanmu Ye thought about it and realized it made sense, so he reached out and pulled Ah Li closer to him, saying, "Come closer, it'll be warmer."
