February 2nd, Weather: Cloudy

Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and I'm still wondering if I should give him a New Year's gift. Seeing how much he enjoys doing practice exercises, I'll get him a few sets of mock college entrance exam papers. I also discovered he's set the photo he took of me at his house that time as his phone's wallpaper.

Under the shade of a tree in the school, Ali would occasionally glance at Si Nanfeng's phone. When the screen lit up, the ragdoll cat on it had big, cute eyes and was very adorable.

Si Nanfeng sat to one side and looked at the screensaver as well, saying, "The kitten I rescued last time is quite cute. I'd like to keep her as a pet."

Ahri withdrew her gaze, her fair fingertips turning the pages of the book in her hand, and said, "We also need to see if she has an owner."

"Yes, do you think she already has an owner?"

Ahri's gaze was fixed on the book, but her thoughts had already wandered off.

He likes her when she's a cat, so does that mean he can accept that she's a cat?

Seeing that Ah Li was lost in thought, Si Nanfeng put his phone away and said, "I kept thinking that cat looked familiar, and then I realized..."

Ah Li noticed that Si Nanfeng was silent, so she turned around and looked at him.

At this moment, Si Nanfeng, holding a bottle of milk, said to Ah Li, "Here, for you."

Ahri raised her hand and took it. "Thank you."

It's chocolate-flavored milk, which Ali isn't used to drinking.

Ahri took a very small sip and then put it down.

Si Nanfeng took out another bottle, a hint of distress on his face. "Damn it, that was for me to drink, this is for you."

"It doesn't matter."

"It's related. You're not used to drinking that, so you can drink this instead."

Si Nanfeng took away the bottle that Ah Li had just taken a sip from and opened another bottle, placing it in Ah Li's hand.

Ali also noticed that neither of the two bottles of milk had any outer packaging, and they were the same size. The only difference was the color visible through the bottle; the chocolate milk was slightly darker in color.

After Si Nanfeng took the bottle of chocolate milk back, he continued, "I noticed that your QQ profile picture looks a lot like that cat, Ali. Have you also met that cat?"

Ali calmly said, "Cats of the same breed should look pretty much the same, right?"

"is that so?"

"Um."

Ah Li responded softly, then suddenly realized that Si Nanfeng had stopped talking. She turned around and saw that Si Nanfeng was looking at her, and then he raised his hand and patted Ah Li's head.

Ahri immediately sensed that the cat ears on her head had somehow popped out again. She hurriedly stood up, covering her head. Had he noticed?

Si Nanfeng also stood up and said, "It feels nice to the touch, like the real thing, but it's best to wear this kind of accessory less often at school."

"Um."

Ali was worried that her cat ears would pop out from time to time, so she usually tied her hair up in a slightly fluffy and curly style. This way, when her ears popped out, they wouldn't be so noticeable because they were covered by her hair.

However, today the south wind is too close to me.

Si Nanfeng didn't press Ah Li about her ears. Instead, he bent down slightly to help Ah Li pick up the books from the ground and said, "Let's go back."

Ah Li wasn't in a good mood as she followed behind Si Nanfeng. She even touched her ears, feeling that they were soft and warm.

All the way, Ah Li waited for Si Nanfeng to ask her questions.

However, Si Nanfeng didn't ask any of them.

February 9th, Weather: Sunny

The weather was unusually nice, and it was Lunar New Year's Eve. He said he was going home for the New Year and wouldn't be staying here. I wanted to send him New Year's greetings at midnight.

Ali put away his notebook. The Ragdoll cat wasn't there; he'd gone outside to keep his little Mei company.

It's Lunar New Year's Eve! There should be fireworks tonight, right?

Ah Li looked at the lights outside. It was wonderful; many people had returned for the New Year, and every tall building was lit up.

Fireworks are set off by the river here, and it's a group activity. Fireworks are not allowed in other places.

Ahri ate a quick bite, then carried a box of fireworks to the riverbank to reserve a spot. She wore a red knitted hat with a large pom-pom at the back so that her cat ears wouldn't suddenly pop out.

Ahri, carrying a box of fireworks, walked towards the river.

Go early, and you'll get a good spot.

When we arrived at the riverbank, there were already quite a few people around, and some had already started releasing [their animals].

Ahri also took out a sparkler, placed it on the ground to form a five-pointed star, lit one of them, and watched it gradually spread to the other sparklers.

Ali even took out her phone to take pictures; she wanted to capture them and send them to him.

After the sparklers were finished, Ahri looked at the shimmering river surface, where the reflections of the lights shimmered and were very beautiful.

Ahri was still choosing which one to put next when someone next to her said, "What a coincidence, you're here too."

Ah Li turned her head and saw that it was Si Nanfeng.

Si Nanfeng was carrying a bag of fireworks. He said, "I'm going to set off fireworks too. I even prepared a bag. After I'm done, I'll have to clean up so I don't leave any trash behind."

Ahri also took out a large bag from her pocket and said, "Yes, I've prepared one too."

"Then let's do it together."

Si Nanfeng took the "Golden Jade Abundance" and "Peacock Spreading its Tail" ornaments he was going to place and arranged them at a distance. Then he said to Ah Li, "I'm going to start placing them now. Move back a little."

"Um."

Ali took two steps back and watched as Si Nanfeng took out a lighter and lit the fuse in front of him.
