At night, Ah Li and Nan Xing lay down in the grass nest first, and Kong Qing waited for a long time before slowly lying down.

The night grew deeper and deeper, and the cave was pitch black.

Ahri suddenly opened her eyes; someone was touching her.

The man's hand moved from Ah Li's face to Ah Li's waist, and then reached towards Ah Li's legs.

The man's voice was calm and familiar. He said softly, "I've found you."

Ahri raised her hand to grab the man's hand, but the man suddenly withdrew his hand and left.

"Who are you?"

Ahri sat up abruptly, and the figure in front of her ran out of the cave. Ahri followed suit.

As a result, he bumped into someone.

"father?"

Nanxing covered his head and looked at Ah Li.

Ahri rubbed her chest; this kid's head is really hard.

Ahri also looked around, but it was still dark, and the figure had long since disappeared.

Ah Li asked Nan Xing, "Did you see anyone run out of the cave just now?"

Nanxing said, "Yes."

Who is it?

"Isn't it you? Dad, why are you in such a hurry so late at night? Are you going to relieve yourself too?"

Ah Li raised her hand and pressed down on Nan Xing's head. "I'm asking you, besides your father, have you seen anyone else?"

Nanxing shook his head and said, "No, Dad, did you see someone?"

Looking at Nanxing's silly expression, Ah Li patted his head and said, "Go back to sleep."

"oh."

Nanxing entered the cave, lay down in the grass, and said, "But Kong Qing hasn't come back yet either; he went out before me."

"He went out too?"

"Yeah, they probably went to relieve themselves. But they haven't come back for so long, they might have an upset stomach."

Ahri stood at the cave entrance and looked around again; it was still quiet.

The man's hand and voice immediately reminded Ahri of the man she had sex with as soon as she arrived.

He came looking for me?

Just then, Kong Qing returned and noticed Ah Li standing at the cave entrance. He asked, "Uncle Li, what are you doing standing here?"

Ah Li looked at Kong Qing and sized him up. This person was much smaller than the figure from before.

So, it wasn't him?

"Uncle Tanuki?"

Kong Qing looked at Ali with confusion. Why was Uncle Ali looking at him like that?

Ahri twitched the corner of her lips and said, "It's okay, go to sleep."

Nanxing had already fallen asleep by then, and Kong Qing didn't think much of it, so he lay down as well.

Ahri stood at the cave entrance for a while longer, but when she found there was still no movement nearby, she went back into the cave.

Inside the grass nest, Nanxing slept in a really bad posture, with her arms and legs spread wide apart, like the character "大" (da), taking up a lot of space.

Kong Qing was still awake. He was standing a good distance away from Nan Xing, and he moved aside, saying, "Uncle Li, sleep here."

"Um."

Ah Li lay between Nanxing and Kongqing, and even took some dry grass to cover Nanxing's belly.

Kong Qing said, "Uncle Li is so good to his son."

Ahri responded softly, "Mmm."

Kong Qing said, "Then I'm going to sleep. Uncle Li, you should get some rest too."

"Um."

Ah Li lay quietly, as did Kong Qing.

Instead, Nanxing suddenly pinned his long arms and legs against Ah Li and cried out, "Dad, I want to eat lots and lots of meat..."

Ah Li raised her hand and removed Nan Xing's hands and feet from her, whispering, "You can't even sleep properly."

Nanxing changed his sleeping position again, and he moved to the side to sleep.

Ahri didn't try to pull him away; she just grabbed a bunch of dry grass and covered him with it.

Ah Li still keeps that thin quilt from before; she can use it to cover herself when it's cold.

Twelve years have passed, and that thin quilt, which Ah Li has washed, is almost worn out.

Because of that person's appearance, Ah Li couldn't fall asleep. She lay down next to Nan Xing, and every now and then he would kick her and slap her.

Ahri endured it all; it was her own offspring, she couldn't hurt it.

Ah Li could only move back a little, and then she realized that by moving back, she was right next to Kong Qing.

Kong Qing's breathing was long and even; you could tell she was fast asleep.

Ah Li slowly turned around and looked at Kong Qing. This young man was truly handsome.

However, Ah Li did not continue to face Kong Qing directly, because her face was disfigured. If she woke up tomorrow and saw this face, wouldn't she be scared to death?

The next day, as soon as it was light, Ali was the first to wake up. She went outside the cave and found that there were many footprints at the cave entrance the night before, and they were very messy. It was impossible to tell whose footprints they were.

Ahri could only tell herself to be more careful in the future and not to sleep so soundly.

Kong Qing woke up as well, and he immediately noticed Nan Xing sleeping beside him. He quickly stood up and walked towards Ali, saying, "Uncle Ali, good morning."

"Yes, good morning."

Nanxing rubbed his eyes. He was still lying in the grass nest. He muttered, "What are you doing up so early?"

Ah Li knew that Nanxing would continue to sleep, so she didn't wake him up.

Kong Qing seemed to be in good spirits. He even said to Ali, "Uncle Ali, I'll go find some food."

"Okay, sure."

Ah Li didn't say she wanted to come along. She watched Kong Qing leave. This guy was really physically strong; he fell from such a high cliff and wasn't injured at all, and...

Ahri's thoughts were interrupted when a white eagle appeared in front of Kong Qing. The white eagle folded its wings and stood beside Kong Qing, letting out two low cries.

Kong Qing said, "I'm fine. I wasn't hurt after I fell, but I passed out. Someone even saved me."
