Chapter 473 Reencounter with Zhou Lang 1

"Sisters, I have been secretly observing these handsome scholars for a long time. The essence in their bodies is of great benefit to our demon race's cultivation."

Inside the study, a group of refined scholars sat upright under the dim candlelight, completely unaware that they had become delicacies in the eyes of a monster.

"Good sisters, you must carefully select the best for me. This selection is crucial to the smoothness of my cultivation path," a female demon said softly, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

"Oh dear, sister, don't worry. These scholars, no matter which one you choose, will be of help on your path of cultivation."

The demon who spoke had a playful and teasing tone in her words.

The surrounding female demons could hardly contain their excitement. Some swayed their fox tails and looked at each other with seductive eyes; others flicked their snake tongues and licked their lips, as if they had already tasted the intoxicating flavor.

"The aura emanating from them is so captivating, irresistible, and makes one want to succumb to their charm as soon as possible."

They whispered, their voices filled with longing and anticipation, and an indescribable allure and expectation permeated the entire area outside the study.

Before I knew it, night had fallen.

Wisps of eerie smoke quietly swirled around the study. A female demon, with a graceful figure, lightly leaped onto the roof with ethereal steps, and with a flick of her fingertips, lifted a corner of the roof tile.

The old tile quietly slid down, revealing half her face as she looked down. Her voice was full of lingering emotions as she called out, "My dear husband, Cui'er is filled with fear. Under the lonely lamplight, I hope you can come out and see me, to give me some comfort, and to spend this long night with me."

On the other side, outside the window, several alluring figures clung to it, the moonlight outlining their silhouettes.

Some even use their fingers as pens, as if sketching endless expectations on cold window paper, each stroke seemingly telling of endless sorrow and longing.

The door was half-closed at some point, and the demons outside portrayed their fragility and helplessness to the fullest extent, their voices trembling slightly: "Young husband, the night is deep, and the cold dew seeps into our clothes. We are all wanderers in this world, and we only wish for a moment of your tenderness to comfort our endless loneliness. Please have pity on us and do not let us wither away alone in the cold wind."

In this situation, every soft whisper and call seems to contain endless allure.

However, not a single scholar in the study left their desk. They lowered their heads, lit the candles before them, and then loudly read the Tao Te Ching before them: "The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao; the name that can be named is not the eternal name!"

Suddenly, several claps of thunder sounded.

The demons surrounding the bookstore fled, some still looking back with lingering fear.

"You audacious banshee! How dare you trespass upon my Dragon City and disturb the peace of my people!"

Several Taoist priests, each carrying a talisman and a peach wood sword, appeared out of nowhere and chased after us from a distance.

The demons dared not linger any longer; they scattered and fled for their lives.

The pursuing Taoist priests scattered, some chasing after the female demon, shouting, "Slay the evil spirit! Where do you think you're going, you demon!"

The scholars inside the study all breathed a sigh of relief, and one of them whispered, "Luckily we were prepared, otherwise I would have gone out to find out what was going on."

"Fortunately, the major families in Dragon City have hired Taoist priests to keep watch, otherwise these demons would have caused a huge uproar."

The scholars in the study all wore expressions of relief at surviving a disaster, along with lingering fear.

In the heart of Dragon City, there was an old, dilapidated courtyard with a patch of green bamboo growing inside.

A little sparrow hovered over the bamboo grove and whispered, "Sister Green Bamboo, be careful too. There are quite a few Taoists with high cultivation levels in Dragon City."

"Okay, I understand. Thank you for letting me know, little sparrow."

Ahri gently parted her pink lips and let out a lazy and charming yawn. Her slightly watery eyes, like shy dewdrops in the morning light, shimmered with a captivating soft light that evoked tenderness in people.

The little sparrow circling above the yard chirped twice, then flew away; she needed to escape for her life.

Ah Li moved her body and returned to the patch of green bamboo in front of her.

She is not human in this world, but a demon, specifically a bamboo demon.

Before Ah Li could react, a middle-aged Taoist priest suddenly barged into the courtyard, exclaiming, "Such a strong demonic aura!"

Numerous yellow talismans flew from his hand, densely drifting above the courtyard, forming a cage-like net.

The owner of this courtyard has long since passed away, and the courtyard has been abandoned for a long time. There are many green bamboos, so dense that they almost fill the entire courtyard.

While the yellow talismans were still gathering power, Ahri directly found her true form from within the bamboo grove and escaped while protecting it.

In the past, she was the one who used talismans to kill people for fun, but now it's the other way around. She's going to be killed by someone with talismans. She really wants to cry.

Ahri escaped silently, unnoticed by the Taoist priest.

However, at some point, quite a few Taoist priests appeared in the city.

Ah Li quickly shielded herself from demonic energy and looked down at the green bamboo she was protecting in her arms. This was the original owner's true form; if it were destroyed, she would lose her life.

The original owner was a bamboo demon. She couldn't escape. She thought that the bamboo forest was so big that she could hide deep inside.

As a result, it was cleaved away.

"What are you doing? Can't you see there are people ahead?"

At some point, Ah Li bumped into someone, and the person helped her fall down. When the person with her saw that Ah Li had fallen, he gave her a cold look and was almost cursing her out.

Ahri stood in front of the man, her face filled with panic, and could feel his heart beating.
