Chapter 5 Beast World Part 4

Ace didn't touch the food; instead, he stared blankly at the fire, lost in thought.

Only after Ah Li returned and took a bowl of soup from Ah Ze did he slowly begin to eat.

Soon, a soft moaning sound came from the treehouse; Ellie had woken up.

Ellie, leaning against a pillar of the treehouse, asked with a puzzled look, "How did I faint?"

Because of the fear and anxiety along the way, it's not surprising that people feel dizzy once they relax.

However, Ahri didn't answer Ellie; instead, Aze smiled and invited her to come and eat.

Ellie took a big gulp of the meat soup, exclaiming as she ate, "It's so delicious! I've never had anything like it before!"

The meal ended with Ellie's surprised exclamation.

Aze started packing his things to take to the river to wash, and Ace helped him.

Ahri didn't follow. Ellie came closer and asked curiously, "Are you the only two living here?"

"Yes, that's right."

"This is great, this place is nice."

"Yes, it's pretty good."

Ahri looked at the dark blue sky and found that there wasn't a single star.

Is it going to rain?

Just as Ahri thought this, raindrops began to fall.

A sudden downpour began, and Aze and Ace quickly gathered up the dishes and ran back.

"Ah Li, it's raining," Aze said, coming to meet Ah Li under the tree.

Ahri said, "I know."

Ace looked up at the sky at that moment and said, "It seems the rainy season is coming."

In the Beast World, the arrival of the rainy season is a bad thing.

Not only is it inconvenient to go hunting, but some creatures that are normally in the river may also come up, which will be quite troublesome.

"Let's go back to the treehouse first."

Ahri put out the fire and went back to the treehouse with them.

The rain grew heavier in the middle of the night. Aze looked at Ali and said, "I don't know when this rain will stop. Ali, you shouldn't go out for the next few days."

Because there are large, brightly colored insects in the river. They take advantage of the rainy season to crawl from the river into the jungle. Their bite force is amazing, and they crawl incredibly fast.

Normally, they live in peace, but during the rainy season, the river rises, and they will drift into the jungle along the river to find lone beastmen.

Ali also remembered these colorful, large insects, which resembled crocodiles, only their appearance was more robust and sturdy.

"I know." Ahri looked at the dried meat and marinated dried fish prepared in the treehouse, thinking that as long as they ate sparingly, getting through the rainy season wouldn't be a problem.

Ellie and Ace were sitting together; they couldn't leave even if they wanted to.

Instead, Ahri turned around and said, "You should all stay here too, and leave after the rainy season."

One is a weak female who needs protection, and the other is a male who is still recovering from serious injuries. It is very dangerous for them to travel in the rainy season.

Ace looked at Ahri, and seeing no sign of distress on her face, he nodded and said, "Okay."

Ellie quickly replied, "Thank you so much, Ahri."

Aze stood up, tidying up the animal hides in the corner, and said, "Then Ace will sleep with me."

Since it's usually just the two of them, they don't have enough animal hides.

“Okay.” Ace nodded and sat down by the animal hides in Aze’s shop.

Ellie leaned against Ahri and said, "Then I'll be bothering you tonight."

"It's alright." Ahri touched the animal hide beneath her and lay down.

Nothing happened that night, except for the sound of heavy rain washing over the leaves.

Because Ahri did a good job of waterproofing when building the treehouse, the inside of the treehouse is not very damp.

The rain continued for the next few days.

Ahri also went out hunting a few times, but the harvest was not much.

Ace went out with Ahri, leaving Aze and Ellie inside the treehouse to guard the place.

Ellie was very surprised when she learned there was a hot spring, but because of the rain, soaking in the hot spring wasn't very comfortable.

Ahri, wearing a homemade leaf raincoat, and Ace ran wildly through the jungle, followed by many large insects.

Just now, Ahri saw an injured wild calf and thought of taking it back, but he was ambushed by a group of big insects.

Ace hastily bandaged his injured arm, turned back to look at the large insects that were relentlessly pursuing him, and said, "I can't escape because I smell of blood. I'll try to distract them. You go first."

Ahri stopped abruptly, grasped Ace's uninjured arm, and said, "I won't abandon my comrades."

Ace's injuries were sustained while saving her; she is not an ungrateful person.

Ahri took out the hemostatic herb she had picked along the way and said, "Let's stop the bleeding first. As long as we run fast enough, they won't be able to catch up."

Before Ace could react, he saw Ahri put the hemostatic herb into her mouth, chew it up, and then apply it to his wound.

Ahri didn't think there was anything wrong with it; doing so was normal in the beast world.

However, Ace's ears turned red, and his heart started beating faster and faster.

Ace was moved by their time together these past few days; he wanted to become Ahri's male.

Whether it was Ahri hunting, Ahri cooking, or Ahri catching raindrops, every aspect of her voice and smile left a mark on Ace's heart, making that flutter of emotion even more pronounced.

Is it bitter?

"Um?"

Ahri looked at Ace strangely, and Ace reached out and touched the corner of Ahri's mouth.

There was green sap there, and Ahri was about to raise her hand to wipe it away.

Ace leaned closer and stuck out his tongue to kiss the smear of juice.
