Chapter 560 The Spy in the Republic of China (8)

Arriving at a lakeside, the man wearing a gray-black long robe and a black hat was sitting on a chair with a backrest by the lake, holding a newspaper in his hand.

Ahri looked around and saw that there weren't many people around, and no one was paying attention to her.

When Ahri came in, she also bought a newspaper. She walked over to the person and asked, "May I sit here?"

"Can."

This man is Commander Wang's butler, Old Wu.

The two of them sat on opposite sides of the chairs, each reading their newspaper, as if they were strangers to each other.

The willow branches by the lake were blown up and down by the wind from time to time, and dragonflies flew across the lake, touched the water and flew away.

Old Wu's gaze remained fixed on the newspaper. He said, "Why haven't you sent any messages back during this time?"

"I've run into a little trouble."

"So how did you and Master Xing meet?"

That's how we met.

Old Wu wasn't satisfied with this answer. He turned to the next newspaper and said, "Then do you still remember your mission?"

"Um."

Ahri put the newspaper away; she didn't want to read it anymore.

Old Wu continued, "Has that person's identity been confirmed?"

"It's confirmed, it's him. He's the one who resold that batch of weapons."

"Who will you sell it to?"

Ahri rolled up the newspaper and used it as a telescope, saying, "I sold it to the enemy."

"Then kill him."

Old Wu stood up and took the newspaper.

Ahri is still sitting in the same spot. Is this another assassination mission?

Furthermore, she can actually accomplish this all by herself.

Ahri says this is too difficult.

Ah Li wasn't planning on leaving right now. She spread out the newspaper and covered her face. Too much trouble.

That man had a wife and daughter... a family of three, and they looked very happy.

But he was a traitor.

"I'm in trouble."

Xing Ke walked over to Ali and removed the newspaper from Ali's face.

Ahri squinted at him, "You were following me?"

I'm worried about you.

Xing Ke picked up the newspaper and looked at it. It was filled with news of war breaking out everywhere, of places falling, and of places being breached.

There are also articles written by some people, and some rumors.

Meanwhile, Lu Liuyun had Old Wu beaten up and said, "He's Fourth Master's man now. When you get back, don't say anything out of line, understand?"

Old Wu left with a bruised and swollen face, still thinking that when he got back he would complain to Commander Wang that this man might also betray him.

Ahri stood up and said, "Instead of worrying about me, you should worry about yourself. You come here every day, but you don't even take care of your own business?"

Xing Ke stood up and replied, seemingly unrelated to the question, "Indeed, with the nation in peril, personal feelings seem insignificant."

Ali turned to look at Xing Ke, then looked away, her previous dejected expression vanishing. She said, "That's true, but I'm still thinking about getting married and having children."

Xing Ke immediately looked at Ah Li, "You want to get married and have children?"

"Yeah, find someone you like, have two kids, just thinking about it makes me feel great."

Ahri walked forward happily.

Xing Ke felt a bit of a heart attack. No, why would this person want to get married and have children? Wasn't he a homosexual?

"Come back and tell me which girl you like, and I'll help you find one."

"Well, that's a long story. I like a lot of girls: the one on the east street who keeps dogs, the one on the west street who keeps rabbits, and the one next to me who keeps parrots."

You like them all?

"yes."

"No, those people all have partners."

How did you know?

"I've investigated."

Xing Ke didn't want to hide anything anymore. As soon as he finished speaking, Ali stopped and looked at him, then looked away without saying anything and continued walking.

"Are you angry? Then you can yell at me, just don't ignore me."

Xing Ke felt that she had never been so humble to anyone before.

Fortunately, Lu Liuyun and his men were far away and did not hear these words.

Ahri snorted, "You've been investigating me for more than just a day or two. If I were angry, I would have put something in your medicine long ago."

Xing Ke smiled: "Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Qin."

"You're too kind."

Ahri seemed pleased with being addressed as "Master Qin," but then abruptly changed the subject, saying, "I have plans tonight, so don't come over for the next couple of days."

"Who are you meeting with? That junior officer?"

Xing Ke was still thinking seriously about how that junior police officer hadn't shown up at all during this time.

Ah Li looked at the man in front of her, who seemed unaware of his jealousy, and said, "I don't think I need to report to you about who I have an appointment with, Fourth Master."

Xing Ke noticed that Ah Li didn't seem to care at all, which made him feel a little heartbroken. He had thought that they had become friends over this period of time.

And then there's Xiao Liu. He got quite familiar with Ah Li during that time because he wanted to get medicine from her.

It's normal that he didn't come back once he no longer needed the medication.

Now, regarding the assassination mission, Ahri thinks that the harm shouldn't extend to his wife and children. Killing that traitor would be a way to avenge the original owner of this body.

Murder.

Ah Li thought about the information she had found out earlier. This person would occasionally go to nightclubs in Shanghai to meet his lovers. She could make her move there or on the way.

Ah Li was preoccupied with her own plans and didn't notice whether Xing Ke was still following her.

At night, Ahri planned to scout out the location first, and see if she could make a move early to avoid any unforeseen complications.

Ali didn't change his clothes. He walked to the corner of the street and looked up at a long-broken street lamp. The house there was still brightly lit.
