The people playing cards continued playing. One of them, smoking a cigarette, looked at Su Shuai and said, "Young man, even if the police come, they can't do anything. They're all family."

"Zhu Li!"

Ignoring everything else, Su Shuai pounded on the security door in front of him, as if he wanted to smash it down.

At this moment, Ah Li opened the inner door. Her hair was a little messy, and she looked just like a flower that might wither at any moment. Her eyes were lifeless. She said, "Teacher Su, you can go now. This is my home. I am very... safe."

After Ahri finished speaking, her face became deathly still.

The man appeared behind her, grabbed her neck, and said, "Let's continue."

Seeing Ah Li like this, Su Shuai felt a pang of pain in his heart, and he wanted to... save her.

The door was closed again.

Ahri's ears twitched; the person had called the police.

She crouched down and looked at the man in front of her, whose jaw had been dislocated, who couldn't speak, whose face was covered in snot and tears, and whose head was bleeding profusely from the impact.

She raised her hand and patted the man's face, saying, "If I don't fight back, you really think you're something special?"

The man, who had been so arrogant, was now afraid and tried to run away. The moment the door closed, he became ruthless and knew how to fight back!

Ahri stood up and punched and kicked the man again, then picked up the TV and smashed it down on him.

"You like watching, huh? I'll let you watch to your heart's content!"

The man was knocked unconscious by the television.

Ahri looked into another room where a woman was locked inside. Anyone who paid her could get in.

Ahri unlocked the door with the key. Inside, a woman wearing a thin nightgown sat in a chair, her feet bound by chains.

"Why are you coming in? Get out of here right now! If he finds out, he'll beat you up."

This woman isn't crazy; she's the original owner's aunt, Chen Yue.

"Auntie, you're not my mom."

Chen Yue stood up instantly. "Ali, what did you say? I'm your mother, I'm Chen Hua."

"Auntie, my mom ran away a long time ago, and she didn't call the police for you, did she?"

Ahri crouched down and helped Chen Yue untie the chains on her feet.

Suddenly, Chen Yue noticed the man lying in the room and asked, "Did you kill that person?"

"He'll probably die soon too."

As soon as Ah Li finished speaking, Chen Yue went out, took a pair of scissors from the kitchen, and stabbed them into the man's neck.

Once wasn't enough, so they did it twice... until the man had bled a lot and then stopped moving.

Ahri did not stop it.

Finally, a sound came from the other side of the door; someone was unlocking it.

Soon, the door opened.

The police arrived, and Su Shuai followed them in.

Holding scissors, Chen Yue shouted, "I killed him! I'm going to kill him, you beast!"

"Please calm down! Put down the scissors."

Some police officers tried to calm Chen Yue down, but Chen Yue, holding scissors, resisted fiercely, shouting, "Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer!"

Just when everything seemed to have reached a stalemate, Ah Li slowly stepped forward, hugged Chen Yue from behind, and held her hand that was holding scissors. "Auntie, the demon is dead. We are free."

"Is he dead? Is he really dead?"

"Yeah, he's dead."

Chen Yue threw down the scissors. She looked at the corpse on the ground and became very abnormal. First, she laughed for no reason, and then she cried so hard that she fainted.

Ahri hugged the person and slowly sat down on the ground.

When the police arrived, Ali didn't let go, saying, "My aunt has been driven crazy by this person. She has no idea what she's doing."

The police reassured them, "We'll take you for a check-up now, and we'll investigate everything thoroughly."

Ahri cooperated well, saying, "Okay."

Soon, someone came over, carried Chen Yue on their back, and draped a coat over her shoulders.

Ah Li also had a jacket draped over her shoulders. Ah Li looked at the person who had put the jacket on her, and it was Su Shuai.

Su Shuai said, "Your room was open just now, so I went in to get it. It doesn't count as disturbing the scene, and you don't need to thank me."

Su Shuai didn't help Ah Li with her bag because it was stained with blood.

The police were handling the scene carefully. Someone was dead, and the murderer was also at the scene, but there was still a lot to be investigated.

Hospital

The lights outside the ward were bright and warm.

Ah Li sat beside Chen Yue's hospital bed, holding her hand tightly.

Chen Yue didn't open her eyes, tears streaming down her face. Her lips parted slightly. "Your mother didn't run away. She was sold by him. I don't know who she was sold to."

"Auntie, you should rest first. The police will help us find Mom."

Ah Li pulled the blanket up for Chen Yue and then lay down on top of her.

The original owner's story is dark; the darkness began even before she was born.

Her mother and her aunt are twins.
