Ah Li followed closely behind Xu Zhi, her eyes fixed on his deep blue robes fluttering in the wind, like a blue butterfly about to take flight.

Xu Zhi glanced at Ah Li from time to time, thinking that she was now obedient, following him as she was told, without asking why, which made him think that the rumors were completely unbelievable.

But thinking about it, perhaps it was because I was being deliberately tormented in this foreign land that I had no choice but to become obedient.

It's like that chattering woman from last night, who only appeared in his dreams.

"Take her to the side room."

Xu Zhi gave the instructions and then went out again.

Once the tea had cooled, the imperial physician arrived.

Ah Li stretched out her hand, letting the imperial physician take her pulse.

The imperial physician was young, and he even placed a handkerchief on Ah Li's wrist.

However, after taking the pulse, the imperial physician left.

They didn't mention getting medicine, nor did they leave a single word.

Ah Li remained silent. After she withdrew her hand, another eunuch came in to refill the tea.

When Xu Zhi returned, the imperial physician was waiting for him in his study.

When the imperial physician saw Xu Zhi return, he said, "Master, that princess is physically weak, her constitution is extremely poor, her blood and qi are stagnant, and she has many hidden injuries."

“These are all underhanded tactics used by the palace.” Xu Zhi also ordered an investigation.

The people in the palace are mostly snobbish and opportunistic, adept at flattering the powerful and currying favor with the weak. They revel in tormenting the princess to gain a perverse sense of satisfaction.

Moreover, since the princess was from another country, no one would blame them, so they became even more unscrupulous when they attacked her.

"Should I get some medicine?" The imperial physician looked at Xu Zhi, wondering when this man had ever been so kind.

Xu Zhi shook his head and said, "No need, let me see it too."

After Xu Zhi sat down, he stretched out his hand.

However, he still placed his hand on Xu Zhi's hand and waited quietly for a while. Then he looked at Xu Zhi in surprise and asked him to use his other hand.

Xu Zhi then switched to his other hand.

The imperial physician frowned and asked Xu Zhi to open his mouth so he could see.

Xu Zhi looked at him expressionlessly and said, "Just say it."

The imperial physician exclaimed in surprise, "Your poison has been cured? You've met a master!"

Xu Zhi already knew the answer in his heart. He withdrew his hand and whispered, "Keep it a secret."

"Don't worry, my mouth is always sealed tight," the imperial physician quickly replied, as he had always been utterly loyal to Xu Zhi.

"I know, otherwise I wouldn't have let you take my pulse today," Xu Zhi said, and then left.

The imperial physician followed closely behind him, continuing, "Eunuch, please have mercy and tell me which divine physician you met, so I can become his apprentice."

Xu Zhi merely glanced at him lightly before continuing to walk towards Ali's room.

When the two arrived, Xu Zhi took out a bottle of ointment, placed it in front of Ah Li, and said, "Take this and apply it."

The imperial physician's eyes widened in disbelief. When did this eunuch become so kind?

Ah Li glanced at the ointment, then at Xu Zhi, and whispered, "Thank you."

Xu Zhi didn't say anything more. Seeing Ah Li open the plaster and start applying it, he couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

He initially thought the person would refuse.

The imperial physician glanced at this and that, and seeing that Ah Li wasn't having an easy time applying the ointment herself, he said, "How about I help you?"

Xu Zhi looked over, and the imperial physician quickly shut up, then said, "Then I'll be going now."

After everyone left, Xu Zhicai walked over and said, "Let me apply it for you."

Ah Li nodded and said, "Okay, thank you, Master Eunuch."

Xu Zhi glanced at her, then took her hand and began to carefully apply the medicine to her.

After that, they bandaged her up.

Ah Li tilted her head and said, "Master Eunuch, how am I supposed to do this later?"

Xu Zhizheng stood to the side washing his hands. He took a handkerchief from the eunuch and dried his hands, saying, "Remember, you don't need to do anything here with me."

Ahri blinked, her eyes slowly reddening, and tears gradually welled up in them.

Seeing that the man was about to cry, Xu Zhi said, "You have helped me a lot. In this Liang Kingdom, no matter what you want to do, I will protect you."

Detoxifying him would save his life.

"Really?" Ahri sniffed, her voice a little hoarse as she asked.

"Um."

"I'm hungry."

After Ah Li finished speaking, she saw a young eunuch bring in food, followed by a young palace maid.

Xu Zhi said to the young palace maid, "You will take care of her from now on."

And so, Ah Li stayed at the Eastern Depot to recover from her injuries.
