The female lead never takes any grievances. She hits when she should hit, and beats when she should beat.
Su Tian from the apocalypse transmigrated into a book, becoming the love-brained char...
"You're really something, chasing me all the way from Qinzhou to Beijing."
Song Zhe looked at the homeless man on the ground and said coldly.
Su Tian was surprised. Was this someone she knew?
Seeing her questioning look, Song Zhe said quietly, "This man is Chen Zhong, the director of the Revolutionary Committee of Qinzhou Town. I've seen him a few times at the police station."
Su Tian glanced at Chen Zhong. He was wearing tattered clothes, his hair was messy like weeds, and his face was covered with several streaks of black ash.
He tried to disguise himself as a down-on-his-luck vagrant in order to avoid their sight.
Chen Zhongxin knew that he could not escape today. He had fallen into their hands and he had accepted his fate, whether he lived or died.
Anyway, since he lost so many cultural relics and antiques, his country won't let him off the hook.
"Tell me, where are you staying in Beijing?" Song Zhe asked Chen Zhong.
Chen Zhong lowered his head and remained silent, blood continuing to flow from his leg.
"Don't think you can get away with it by not talking. If you keep being stubborn, we have plenty of ways to make you open your mouth."
Song Zhe squatted down, staring intently at Chen Zhong, and even tore off a piece of cloth to tie up the wound on his leg.
Chen Zhong glanced at Song Zhe, but remained silent.
"Don't forget, you've been in Qinzhou for so many years, you're already married and have children. Don't you want your wife and kids anymore?"
"If you speak up, you might be able to get lenient treatment from them; if you don't, your whole family will be executed," Song Zhe said coldly.
Upon hearing Song Zhe's words, Chen Zhong's face turned deathly pale.
His lips trembled slightly, as if he wanted to say something but fear choked him up.
“I said, I live nearby, I will take you there. They are innocent, they don’t know I am an enemy agent, please treat them leniently.”
"Lead the way first, take us there as soon as possible, and get you to the hospital sooner."
Song Zhe said expressionlessly, then called two police officers who brought a plank of wood and lifted him up.
Ten minutes later, the two officers had carried him outside his house.
“This is the place, I’ll stay here,” Chen Zhong said, trembling with pain.
Seeing that the surrounding area consisted of dilapidated and low houses, Song Zhe signaled the police officers to guard the door, and he and Su Tian went into the house together.
The room had a musty, old feel to it, and the corners were cluttered with miscellaneous items. Song Zhe's gaze swept across the room, finally settling on a locked box in the corner. The box looked quite ordinary.
"Where's the key to that box inside? Take the key out," Song Zhe ordered as he walked out the door.
Chen Zhong shakily took out the key and handed it to Song Zhe. The lid of the box was opened, and inside were neatly stacked stacks of enemy agent documents.
The papers were densely covered with all sorts of confidential information, action plans, and intelligence codes, each line seemingly exuding an aura of conspiracy and danger.
Song Zhe stepped out the door and asked seriously, "Did you write everything in the box?"
"Yes, I wrote it all, and I also planned it," Chen Zhong said honestly.
"Take him to the hospital for treatment first, and have someone keep a close watch on him," Song Zhe instructed the police officers.
"Yes." They lifted Chen Zhong into the car and drove away.
"Let's go back too."
Song Zhe picked up the box containing the documents and walked out of the house with Su Tian.
The two got into the car. Song Zhe first took Su Tian back to the compound, and then drove to the military region.
When the car arrived at the gate of the compound, Su Tian got out.
"You stay home for now, I'll go to the military region first," Song Zhe instructed.
"Okay, you go ahead and get busy."
Song Zhe immediately drove away, while Su Tian strolled leisurely through the courtyard.
Su Tian experienced a terrifying scene that morning, and everyone in Songjia Village was filled with unease.
Yesterday morning, the team leader was already broadcasting that the typhoon would arrive by noon the next day.
Upon hearing this, everyone worked overtime to harvest the rice.
At four or five in the morning, everyone in Songjia Village got out of bed and quickly harvested rice before the typhoon arrived.
The team leader kept encouraging everyone at the edge of the field: "If we work harder, we can harvest more and suffer less loss."
Two-thirds of the rice has been harvested, only a little over half remains. Everyone must work together!
Since learning that a typhoon was coming, everyone in the village, young and old, has been working against the clock to harvest the rice.
The sky, which was originally azure, gradually turned gloomy and oppressive, like a heavy iron plate slowly pressing down.
Before the typhoon arrived, the entire Songjia Village seemed to be encased in a stuffy, airless steamer, with the air thick with suffocating heat.
Large beads of sweat rolled down their foreheads and faces, but they had no time to pay attention to them.
Even when He Hua tried to slack off, her aunt next to her stared at her intently.
She had no way to express her suffering, so she could only work desperately.
Fine beads of sweat streamed down her face, and even her hair, soaked with sweat, clung to her cheeks.
If she stops to wipe her sweat for a while, people will say she's slacking off.
Why are these peasants only targeting her and not anyone else? It's infuriating!
By noon, the clouds in the sky were getting darker and thicker.
A fierce wind began to rage, howling past and causing trees to bend and fall.
The branches creaked and groaned, and some small branches were even broken off and flew wildly through the air.
"Everyone, stop harvesting! First, thresh the harvested grain, pack it into bags, and carry it to the warehouse. Hurry up, everyone, it's about to rain!" The team leader kept urging them on.
