Lu Qinglin stared coldly at the surveillance footage.

Almost the instant the iron gate closed, he pressed the red switch next to him.

"call!"

In an instant, flames erupted from the room, the intense heat instantly burning Lu Fan, whose body had mutated, and the awakened one who hadn't managed to escape.

After the intense burning subsided, the iron gate reopened.

Several soldiers went in expressionlessly to clean up the wreckage. Zhou Xu couldn't bear to look at the horrific scene and helplessly turned his head away.

Zhou Xu's heart raced instantly. He quickly walked to the data terminal, and the data on the screen made his pupils constrict.

These genes appear to encode a self-protection mechanism.

They are activated when the white monkeys are threatened, releasing powerful energy fluctuations that continue to spread outwards.

Several soldiers worked together to push the device controlling the white monkey into the second iron gate.

After calming down, Zhou Xu looked at the screen next to the workbench, which displayed the real-time scene in Lu Fan's room.

"There are actually people willing to come? Lu Yuefei, you're not kidding me, are you?" Zhou Xu smiled and turned around.

Lu Yuefei walked in with a smile, holding a worn-out sign in his hand.

The sign that read "Superpower Upgrade" proved that Lu Yuefei was the one energetically hawking his wares on the street.

Commander Lu Ling made no move in response to Lu Yuefei's appearance.

Lu Yuefei seemed to have an unusual identity, as he frequently appeared in this secluded underground laboratory.

“These people urgently need free ability upgrade services, please expedite this.” Lu Yuefei pointed to the several refugee awakened individuals behind him and raised an eyebrow to hint at it.

“No problem, let them come over.” Zhou Xu said, taking out a box of liquid and syringes from under the workbench.

The two seemed to have been working together for a long time and were extremely in sync.

Upon hearing that Zhou Xu could upgrade his superpowers, the refugee awakener walked over with a happy expression.

Without the energy replenishment from the alien beast crystal cores, they would probably remain only first-tier awakeners for their entire lives.

Earlier on the way, after hearing that they could upgrade their superpowers for free, they were already impatient and couldn't wait even a day longer.

The group huddled together and whispered their plan, deciding that one of them would use their stealth abilities to sneak out with them.

After they came out, they went straight to Lu Yuefei to upgrade their superpowers, which is why they were brought here.

"Then let's start upgrading our abilities quickly," one of the refugee awakeners said eagerly, his eyes filled with a desire for greater power.
