Chapter 129, The Date

After all, it was a confession of love, and they've entered a period of observation; gifts alone are far from enough.

The two of them had been extremely busy with their studies, so today was a rare day off, and since it was Christmas, they wanted to do something special.

Li Donghao intended to stay home, but since it was a holiday, they couldn't just stay cooped up at home all the time. Zhang Youyou suggested going to Sunshine Harbor District, where there were fireworks tonight. Li Donghao looked at her and added, "How about we test drive the car while we're at it?"

Having her thoughts exposed, Zhang Youyou wasn't annoyed. Instead, she tilted her chin up and asked, "Is it not allowed?"

"Of course!" he said, pinching her nose, which she slapped away.

To avoid not being able to get in at night, Zhang Youyou changed her clothes and planned to go early, but Li Donghao stopped her.

"I've booked a restaurant. We can not only watch the fireworks tonight, but also have dinner!"

Zhang Youyou was amazed by his execution ability. As she was taking off her coat, she suddenly remembered something and asked warily, "Did you plan this all along?"

Li Donghao smiled and helped her take off her coat and put it on the sofa next to her, leaving Zhang Youyou feeling very frustrated.

She used to think he was mature and steady, but now she realized that he was so scheming. It was terrifying. Zhang Youyou suddenly realized that she didn't know him at all. Then there was a lot to observe during this probationary period.

The two didn't stay at home for long before going downstairs. Zhang Youyou went straight to her new car. Although she really wanted to try it out, she obediently sat in the passenger seat for their safety.

Seeing her looking around, Li Donghao smiled and asked, "Do you really want to give it a try?"

Zhang Youyou looked at him pitifully and nodded.

Li Donghao simply patted her head and replied, "I'll teach you when I have the chance later."

Zhang Youyou pushed his hand away in dissatisfaction and complained, "Don't touch my head, I'm not a child!"

"Alright, alright, Youyou is a grown-up now, you can't touch her head!" So he naturally pinched her cheek, leaving Zhang Youyou speechless.

When the two were driving to the restaurant, Li Donghao suddenly stopped the car on the side of the road and asked Zhang Youyou to wait in the car. Zhang Youyou didn't know what he was up to, but she obediently complied.

After Li Donghao got out of the car, Zhang Youyou looked at the steering wheel, eager to try it out, but she knew her own driving skills and could only touch it, not actually move it.

Before Zhang Youyou could understand what was happening, Li Donghao came over with a bouquet of red roses, opened the car door, and held the roses up to her. Zhang Youyou was stunned.

Before she could react, Lee Dong-ho said bluntly, "It's for you!"

The chill outside rushed in, snapping Zhang Youyou out of her daze. She instinctively took the flowers and hugged them to her chest. Li Donghao got into the car and closed the door. The fragrance of the flowers filled the air. Zhang Youyou couldn't help but steal a glance at him as she smelled the fragrance. After calming down, she realized how silly she had been. He had just given her the flowers so bluntly, without any extra words or ceremony. It was so frustrating. More importantly, this was the first time he had ever given her flowers!

What a loss!

On Christmas Day, with cars coming and going on the road, Li Donghao was focused on driving and did not notice Zhang Youyou's emotional change. He only hoped that it would be easy to find a parking space later.

Because they arrived early, they quickly found a parking space. When they got out of the car, Zhang Youyou placed the flowers on the seat, and Li Donghao just looked at them without saying anything.

Zhang Youyou has always had her own ideas, and it's hard for others to sway her.

After getting out of the car, Li Donghao wanted to take her directly to the restaurant to wait for dinner and fireworks, but Zhang Youyou refused. She wanted to go for a stroll first, so Li Donghao had no choice but to accompany her.

The two walked along the riverbank, one after the other, encountering all sorts of people along the way. Some were embracing sweetly, some were heartbroken only to be met with the other's retreating figure, and others were hurrying on their way, perhaps for a living or for love. But Zhang Youyou and Li Donghao simply walked on in silence.

Tired from walking, Zhang Youyou stopped and stood on the bank, looking at the flowing river. Suddenly, she said, "If this were the north, the river would have frozen over long ago."

Lee Dong-ho stopped beside her and mimicked her posture, replying, "Not here, because it connects to the sea."
