Uncovering the Mind-Reading Technique

At the age of five, a fortune teller said that I would be able to see through other people's thoughts when I grow up.

My parents thought I was a genius and devoted the whole family's ...

Chapter 348: After getting drunk, he wrote "Luling Ji"

Brother Yu drove to Xuri to wait for me at 8:30 in the morning.

Yu Shuichun chose Weijia Village as his retirement resort. Arriving at the village, he met up with Party Secretary Wei and we all headed up the mountain together.

"This mountain is called Sika Deer Mountain. Legend has it that a hunter was chasing a sika deer. The deer escaped into the bamboo mountains, and the hunter, unable to catch up, stopped to catch his breath. The deer also stopped, as if waiting for him. The hunter, regaining his strength, gave chase again. The deer was running ahead, not far behind.

The hunter was led to this forest, and when he shot the deer with his arrow, it disappeared. The hunter was also tired and fell asleep against a large rock, fully clothed.

When he woke up, he found that there were hundreds of birds singing and flowers blooming. He then realized that it was the sika deer that brought him to a paradise.

So, the whole family moved here and settled down, clearing wasteland and cultivating farmland at the foot of the mountain. From then on, they went hunting in the mountains and fishing in the rivers, living a very happy life.

Secretary Wei introduced it to me as we walked.

I reached the top of the main peak and stood on the hilltop. Looking around, I saw a hill on each side. It really looked like a doe with two fawns.

There was a huge rock on the top of the mountain. It was very smooth and flat. I said, "Let's sit on it and talk."

The three of them climbed up the rock and sat cross-legged.

I said, "From a feng shui perspective, this kind of terrain, like a burden carried on both ends, is called balanced, allowing for easy advance and retreat. This is a good place to choose."

Yu Shuichun asked, "Is the feng shui good?"

"Feng shui has its own rules. It doesn't mean you can do anything just because the feng shui is good. It depends on the purpose. You're focusing on health care. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, a balanced yin and yang in the body means you're free of disease and healthy.

This mountain has a perfectly balanced topography. The two hills beyond the main peak, juxtaposed to each other, are identical in size, almost like twins. Therefore, it's an excellent feng shui location for health and retirement. It's just that the name is too vulgar.

Secretary Wei said, "The name has always been like this, unless it is changed."

I said, "People come here from all over to recuperate. How can we attract more people? You say the air quality is good and the environment is elegant, but that's not as good as the name."

Then I gave them an example.

Zhongdian County in Yunnan was once completely unknown. Later, it became a famous tourist attraction, thanks to its highly desirable name.

"What's the name?" they both asked.

"Shangri-La."

The two of them exclaimed again, the original name of Shangri-La was Zhongdian.

"Yes, that place has always been called Zhongdian. A British writer named James visited this place in the 1930s and thought it was beautiful. He wrote a novel called Lost Horizon and named this place 'Shangri-La' - which means paradise on earth in English.

The novel was made into a movie of the same name, which won multiple Oscars.

Many people abroad know about Shangri-La, a beautiful and peaceful world, but few in China know about it.

Later, many people came to Diqing, Yunnan to look for the "Shangri-La" in their hearts, but they could never find it.

In 1996, Yunnan Province launched a campaign to develop tourism and find the Shangri-La, a place James had visited. They eventually identified Zhongdian County in Diqing Prefecture as the paradise described in James' novel.

In 2001, Zhongdian County was officially renamed Shangri-La with approval. Since then, it has truly become a paradise in people's minds. Therefore, the mountain must be renamed with a good meaning and a pleasant sound.

Yu Shuichun smiled and said, "I can only ask you for this. I can't think of it."

I said, "I just came up with an idea. I haven't thought it through yet. Let's take our time and think about it together."

Next, let’s look at how to plan according to local conditions.

After surveying the hills on both sides along the main peak, I came up with an idea.

When we arrived at Secretary Wei's house, Tian Dehan had been there for half an hour. When we went inside, we saw that Lao Jin had also arrived.

Secretary Wei’s wife was lighting a fire and cooking.

A few of us went to the living room to discuss the matter.

Secretary Tian asked, "What do you think of the place after you've looked at it?"

I said, "As a health and wellness center, the feng shui is fine. It's a prime location, but I have two thoughts."

Then I briefly mentioned the name change for Zhongdian. Secretary Tian, who was much more knowledgeable, knew the answer immediately and asked me, "What do you think would be a good name?"

I said, "Sika Deer Mountain, I just borrowed the word 'deer'."

Tian Dehan said, "That's good. Deer is a symbol of longevity."

I said: Ge Hong of the Eastern Jin Dynasty wrote in Baopuzi that a deer can live a thousand years, and at five hundred years old, its color turns white. Therefore, in traditional longevity paintings, deer are accompanied by the God of Longevity to symbolize longevity.

Lao Jin asked, "Is Ge Hong the Taoist doctor who used Artemisia annua to treat illnesses?"

Tian Dehan responded, "That's right. Tu Youyou was inspired to develop artemisinin."

I said, "It's called Dongli Luling. The slogan is: Dongli Luling, the deer live a thousand years."

Tian Dehan said: "Good name, good slogan."

Lao Jin hurriedly asked, "What's your second idea?"

I said, "Secretary, Lao Jin, I'm not afraid of you laughing at me. I seem to have an article in my mind that has been surging. I want to write a "Record of Luling in Dongli" while I eat and drink.

Secretary Wei asked, "After dinner, will you write?"

"Yes, prepare the pen and ink, and find some big red paper. I came down from the mountain and I basically had an article in my mind."

Everyone laughed, and Tian Dehan said, "We need this kind of energy to do things. Now that the name is decided, I'll write an article and find a big stone to carve the masterpiece of Wanshanhong on it."

I said, "Secretary, please don't laugh at me. You graduated from the Chinese Department. I'm just showing off my skills in front of you. But today, I didn't drink, but I'm already drunk."

Tian Dehan said, "Old Wei, are the dishes ready? Bring us some wine."

Secretary Wei said, "Okay, wife, set the table."

This wine is a delight to drink.

Secretary Wei set the table while he sent for paper and pens. He was busy until we were almost finished eating before he sat down at the table and hurriedly took a few bites.

I was quite drunk, and I wrote:

Records of Luling, Dongli

In ancient times, there was a hunter who chased a deer. The deer passed over several hills, appearing and disappearing. The hunter chased it to a high peak, where the deer stopped. He then drew his arrow and shot it. The deer fell to the ground. The hunter was overjoyed. When he got closer, he saw it was a huge rock. Suddenly, he was dismayed. He tried to find the way he had come, but the trees were thick and the bamboo was dense, so he could not get out. Frightened and terrified, he camped on the peak.

Awakening at dawn, birds chirped and flowers bloomed. Climbing to the summit, I gazed upon the lofty mountains and dense forests. Monkeys frolicked in the trees, rabbits scampered along the paths, and branches overflowed with fruit, their fragrance filling the air. After pondering for a while, I finally realized: "Could it be that heaven has bestowed upon me a place to live?" Beneath the mountain, I realized there was a path. Bringing my brothers and wives, I arrived here, built dikes to form canals, split rocks to create roads, and split the land between farming and hunting, ensuring a comfortable life. The grateful hunters named the place "Luling."

Today's Luling is vastly different from its former self. Roads lead to the summit, and houses stand in a state of serenity. Lush forests and bamboo groves create a tranquil retreat. A man named Yu Shi Shuichun chose this mountain range and created a garden for wellness and wellness.

The bamboo sea is lush, covering tens of thousands of acres, and the air is fresher than any other place. Climbing the mountain, you can see thousands of boats moored at the door of East Lake. Take a rest in the forest and listen to the sound of thousands of birds singing.

Spring brings forth a hundred flowers, summer brings new bamboos, autumn brings the sound of shepherd's flutes, winter brings the icicles, and the April blossoms of the world are over, when the peach blossoms at Luling begin to bloom. Climbing on Double Ninth Festival brings a sense of refreshment, while the sound of the wind blows across the river from the railings.

Build a house in the bamboo sea and enjoy a beautiful home; eat in the mountains and enjoy delicious food. Visit old friends with a crutch and talk about the past and present around the fire. There is a fairyland on earth, and Luling is the best among them.

Drinking clear spring water makes you feel refreshed, and eating mountain delicacies makes you salivate; these are the desires of the mouth and tongue. However, when drinking, it is not for intoxication, but for the mingling of light and quantity; when eating, it is not for delicious taste, but for returning to simplicity and truth.

Those who fly high in the sky will find peace of mind when they look at the peaks, and those who manage affairs will forget to return when they look into the valleys. This is the true interest of Luling and the easy way to stay healthy.

One day, Shanhong visited Luling and the host asked for a seal, so Yeqin presented one.

After writing, I threw down the pen and let everyone read it.

The ground was already filled with countless villagers. Those who couldn't understand it simply knew that Wan Shan Hong was too profound, while those who could understand it were left shaking their heads.

Secretary Wei’s wife had already fetched a basin of water for me to wash my hands.

I dried my hands. Tian Dehan, a brilliant scholar in the Chinese Department, squeezed out from the crowd and said, "Wan Shanhong, Wan Shanhong, you have such a talent! Did you graduate from high school?"

"Secretary, I've made a fool of myself."

"It's really good," he said to Yu Shuichun, "find a big stone and carve it."
