Chapter 29
Boom!
Jiang Bai suddenly opened his eyes, a strong light flashed, followed by a loud bang. Jiang Bai sat up and tilted his head to look at Lan Shuqing.
But unexpectedly, I met a pair of clear eyes.
It's raining.
And it was pouring rain.
Lan Shuqing was wrapped in a blanket, with only half of his face exposed. Jiang Bai suddenly understood something, "Lan Shuqing, are you afraid of thunder?"
Lan Shu nodded slightly and covered herself with the quilt and said "hmm". She woke up earlier than Jiang Bai and woke up when the first thunder sounded. She didn't know why, but she was always scared when it thundered. She was not a bad person.
She originally wanted to call Jiang Bai, but then she thought Jiang Bai was very tired so she didn't move. As a result, Jiang Bai woke up by himself.
There seemed to be some fear in the girl's eyes. Jiang Bai lay down and hesitated for a moment. She stretched out her hand and placed it on Lan Shuqing's shoulder, patting him repeatedly, "It's okay..."
Lan Shuqing stared at Jiang Bai and whispered, "Jiang Bai, can you come closer?"
Jiang Bai paused his hand movements, then moved towards Lan Shuqing. Lan Shuqing felt a warmth in her heart. She let go of the quilt, leaned over and hugged Jiang Bai, holding him tightly.
The sweet fragrance of the young girl filled his nose, and Jiang Bai's hands on Lan Shuqing froze. Lan Shuqing buried his head in her chest, and his light breathing brought a slight itch to her neck. Lan Shu moved slightly, and his hair rubbed against her neck, making it even more itchy.
Lan Shuqing clung tightly to Jiang Bai under the quilt, smelling the scent of Jiang Bai's body, the smell of laundry detergent, and she could no longer hear any sounds from outside. She found a comfortable position for herself, with her left hand on Jiang Bai's waist, feeling very at ease.
Jiang Bai Jiang Bai...
Lan Shuqing silently repeated Jiang Bai's name in her heart, but did not dare to shout it out.
Jiang Bai put his right hand on Lan Shuqing's back. As they hugged each other, their body temperature rose immediately. It was not known if it was because of the heat or something else, but Jiang Bai felt that he was about to be cooked.
Reason told Jiang Bai that she should push Lan Shuqing away, but Lan Shuqing was still afraid. Jiang Bai had no way to push her away, but she also didn't have the courage to hug her back.
So the right hand can only be placed on top.
Even as they were riding like this, Jiang Bai felt a secret joy rising in his heart, which was then suppressed by his reason. In this repeated torture, Jiang Bai couldn't bear the sleepiness and fell asleep.
Lan Shuqing still held her in his arms and found a comfortable position to fall asleep.
At 3:30 in the morning, Jiang Bai and Lan Shuqing fell asleep in each other's arms, with heavy rain pouring outside the window.
The next morning.
Jiang Bai was still a little dazed when she opened her eyes. She spent the first one or two minutes after waking up to react. Jiang Bai moved her hand, but it felt a little heavy.
Turning her head to look, Lan Shuqing was half lying on her, his left hand still clasped around her waist, his head buried in her shoulder, revealing half of his face. Jiang Bai was lying flat on his back, his left hand pressed tightly by her, and his right hand supporting his forehead.
It is still raining outside the window, and it sounds no less rainy than last night. I just don't know how long it will rain.
I don’t know what time it is now.
Jiang Bai tilted his head slightly, gently touched Lan Shuqing's hair, closed his eyes, and indulged in Lan Shuqing's warmth. He felt an unprecedented peace in his heart.
Maybe it was too early or he was too tired from the previous week, Jiang Bai fell asleep again after a while.
Meanwhile, Lan Shuqing woke up. She opened her eyes drowsily and tried to raise her head but felt a slight weight. She slowly raised her head but found that Jiang Bai had no one to lean on and he fell sideways on the pillow.
It looked like Jiang Bai was leaning in her arms.
Lan Shu chuckled. She lowered her head and rubbed the top of Jiang Bai's head, then stood up gently.
Jiang Bai didn't sleep very soundly, so she woke up when Lan Shu moved slightly. She just happened to see Lan Shu sitting up, and Jiang Bai also sat up.
"Jiang Bai, are you awake?"
Jiang Bai nodded and watched Lan Shuqing smooth her hair. A strand of hair stuck to Lan Shuqing's neck. Jiang Bai turned her head and said, "Get up when you wake up." She got out of bed and opened the curtains. Heavy rain was falling outside the window. The sky was covered with thick clouds and the gray weather looked a bit depressing, but the trees and bushes on both sides of the street downstairs were washed clean and full of green vitality.
There are always some evergreen trees in the greening of City A.
Lan Shuqing walked to Jiang Bai's side and looked outside. "It's raining so hard."
Jiang Bai nodded, "Yeah." She turned around and picked up her phone. Seeing that it was already past nine o'clock, Jiang Bai turned back to look at Lan Shuqing, "I'm going to buy breakfast. Do you want anything to eat?"
Lan Shuqing was wearing blue silk pajamas, which carried the same warmth and vitality as the green curtains. She glanced at the rain outside the window and said, "I'll eat whatever you buy."
Jiang Bai smiled, "What about lunch? When are you planning to go home?"
Lan Shuqing put her hands on her hips, a hint of annoyance on her pretty face, "Are you kicking me out so soon?"
Jiang Bai was speechless, "I didn't..."
Lan Shu lightly pointed at the rain outside the window and said, "Besides, it's raining so hard, I won't go back now. I'll go back when I want to!"
Jiang Bai: (⊙_☉)
Jiang Bai scratched his hair and said, "Then I'll buy some vegetables later. Otherwise, I won't know what to eat."
Lan Shu thought for a moment and said, "Okay, I'll go with you."
Jiang Bai waved his hand, "No need..."
Lan Shuqing walked up to her and grabbed Jiang Bai's hand. "How much can you buy by yourself? I'll buy it with you."
The tone of her voice brooked no room for argument. Jiang Bai glanced at her. She was obviously younger than her, but her temper was worse than hers. Who was the older sister?
Meanwhile, Lan Shuqing was thinking that Jiang Bai was such a taciturn person that if she hadn't taken the initiative, he would have run away long ago.
So Lan Shu looked back. Jiang Bai was wearing a beige cotton pajamas with his hair loose. His eyes were focused when he looked at her. He looked more and more handsome and charming.
Jiang Bai was helpless, "Okay, let's go together."
"Then let's go wash up." Lan Shu gently hugged Jiang Bai's arm and pulled her outside.
Jiang Bai glanced at Lan Shuqing. Although he was young, he was well developed.
"Just wash up, why are you pulling me?"
"Because you're too slow!"
It's just a few steps, so there's no such thing as slow or not. Jiang Bai followed Lan Shuqing's pace and said, "Then you should walk slower~"
After washing up and changing clothes, Lan Shuqing looked at the clothes he brought with him, turned around and ran to find Jiang Bai, "Jiang Bai, do you have any thicker clothes?"
Jiang Bai was also looking for clothes. When he heard Lan Shuqing's voice, he stood up and saw Lan Shuqing holding her clothes in her hand. Jiang Bai took a look but couldn't make out anything.
"What is this?"
Jiang Bai pulled the clothes in Lan Shuqing's hand, and Lan Shuqing spread them out on the bed. "I didn't expect it to rain, so I only brought a skirt and a sweater."
Jiang Bai took a look at the white skirt and the light yellow sweater. The weather had been a bit cold recently, and it was even colder with the rain today. "So, do you want to keep wearing the skirt or should I find you a pair of pants?"
Lan Shuqing pondered for a moment, pried open the cabinet door and looked inside. "What do you have?"
Lan Shuqing was a little surprised when he saw Jiang Bai's wardrobe. There were summer shirts and thin coats hanging at the bottom, winter sweaters in the middle, pants on the top layer, and a quilt on the top.
There was another row of cabinets on Jiang Bai's right. Jiang Bai opened them all and showed them to Lan Shuqing. "I don't have many winter clothes..."
Lan Shuqing thought that there were indeed not many, less than one-fifth of her wardrobe. There were only a few sweaters at a glance, either white or blue, and the pants were either black sweatpants or jeans. Lan Shuqing saw that there seemed to be a beige pair. She reached out and pulled it out. When she unfolded it, it turned out to be a pair of beige casual pants, which were relatively loose.
The only pair of light-colored pants in Jiang Bai's wardrobe.
Beige didn't match her sweater well, so Lan Shuqing looked at another closet. There were several winter down jackets and coats hanging there, as well as a row of hoodies, both light-colored and black.
Lan Shuqing looked up at Jiang Bai and asked, "Where are my summer pants? Thinner summer pants will do."
Jiang Bai opened the cabinet on the left again and took out a storage box from the pile of clothes hanging underneath.
"Here it is, it's all here..."
Lan Shu flipped through the books and finally found a pair of wide-leg light-colored jeans that looked quite loose. He also took out a white one from Jiang Bai's shirt.
Finally, wear a shirt under the sweater and then pair it with loose jeans.
Jiang Bai is slightly shorter than Lan Shuqing, but their body shapes are similar, so the dress fits Lan Shuqing surprisingly well. She then tied up half of her hair with a headband, and she looked really pretty.
While Lan Shu was tying her hair, Jiang Bai casually grabbed a pair of black sweatpants, a white long-sleeved shirt, and put on an off-white windbreaker jacket.
There was a supermarket-like vegetable market in the neighborhood next door. Jiang Bai walked half the street there with Lan Shu, holding an umbrella. There was actually a market downstairs in Jiang Bai's neighborhood, but the prices were not cheap and the vegetables were not good, so she had to buy them somewhere else.
This vegetable market is a chain and has a pretty good reputation.
Jiang Bai went to choose vegetables, while Lan Shuqing was picking fruits. Aunt Yao was at home, so Lan Shuqing didn't have to worry about meals. She told Jiang Bai that she could eat anything, and then went to look at the fruits.
The most difficult thing to do is to eat anything. Jiang Bai first took some vegetables, then some other things, bought half a rack of ribs, a piece of meat, and finally a box of eggs in the meat area.
Jiang Bai looked at a box of thirty eggs and went to get two tomatoes.
There are not many fruits in winter, so Lan Shuqing picked out a few pears and oranges and a box of winter dates.
After paying the bill, there were two large bags of things. Jiang Bai carried one bag in each hand. Lan Shuqing took the other bag from her hand and then held Jiang Bai's arm.
They hadn't bought breakfast yet. The buns at the bun shop next door weren't good, but there was a pretty good breakfast shop across the street that had buns, noodles, and soy milk. Jiang Bai took Lan Shuqing across the street, had a quick meal, and then went home with the food.
The rain gradually subsided, and it was no longer difficult for the two to walk in the rain.
