Chapter 12 Conversation with Jiang's Father

After leaving her father's study, Jiang Shuyun went to her own study.

In the past two weeks, his handwriting has become almost identical to the original owner's. After all, he has muscle memory and he has been deliberately imitating, so his results are quite good.

In the original owner's study, apart from books related to the imperial examinations, there were no other miscellaneous books. In his mind, those were all useless and only served to erode his will.

Jiang Shuyun, however, did not think so. While the Four Books and Five Classics were important for the imperial examinations, travelogues and agricultural books were not useless either, as they could broaden one's horizons and help one understand the lives of ordinary people.

He sat down, wrote a large piece of calligraphy, drew a picture, then got up to stretch his muscles and did some exercises. He didn't know any other dances, but he did know the radio calisthenics, since he did it every day at school.

"Jiang Shuyun, when are you going to the county?"

Mu Yi'an pushed the door open and came in; she needed Jiang Shuyun's help with something.

"Is there anything I need to buy? I plan to go to the county tomorrow. I'll check out the bookstores and see if I can find a job copying books."

"Could you check the bookstores for travelogues, agricultural books, or medical texts? I need to learn about agriculture in this era. I also want to know the historical trajectory of this dynasty. Knowing yourself and your enemy is the key to victory!"

Mu Yi'an was used to relying on herself and being prepared for everything. Now, trapped here, living the same repetitive days, she felt insecure.

"I understand. I was just about to buy some travelogues to read, since the original owner of this body didn't go to many places either."

The two shared the same goal, which offered Mu Yi'an some comfort. At least, she had someone else working alongside her. Having an ally was better than fighting alone; she wasn't alone. Her start was better than before, but how it would end remained unknown until her last breath.
