Chapter Twenty-Four: Clues

Such incidents happen every day at the bar entrance. The security guards are used to it and routinely step in to separate the two sides. However, the man has obviously drunk too much and has lost face in front of everyone, so he remains unyielding.

Yao Fangfang shielded Lin Yu behind her like a mother hen protecting her chicks, pointing her finger at the man and beating him incessantly. Provoked by Yao Fangfang's sharp words, the man rushed forward several times, attempting to start a new brawl, but was forcibly subdued by the three security guards.

Lin Yu retreated repeatedly, hiding behind Yao Fangfang and biting her lip. The overwhelming dizziness almost overwhelmed her. She tightly gripped Yao Fangfang's hand, hoping that Zhang Yunzhou could arrive soon.

Just as the two sides were locked in a stalemate, the argument was interrupted by the roar of an engine. Blinding headlights approached from afar, and a silver-black Harley-Davidson blocked Lin Yu and Yao Fangfang's path. The sudden braking left a charred mark on the concrete road.

The person in the car had one foot on the ground, the engine was churning and vibrating, and the exhaust pipe was spewing out grayish-white smoke. A black leather coat tightly wrapped around him, outlining his smooth and superior broad shoulders and narrow waist.

The short, stout man was startled by the motorcycle that suddenly appeared and retreated. The security guard seized the opportunity to let go, and the man, caught off guard, fell to the ground with a thud, yelling loudly.

The motorcyclist ignored the drunkard's curses on the ground, deftly kicked off the kickstand, placed his hands on his knees, maintained his riding posture, and silently watched Lin Yu through the visor of his all-black helmet.

The mask reflected the cold light of the streetlights, making it impossible to see his expression. Lin Yu hesitated for only a few seconds before walking over, driven by alcohol and curiosity.

She held the helmet with both hands, her fingers touching the cool metal buckles. With a soft click, the buckle under her neck opened. With a little force, she lifted the helmet up.

Chen Guang turned his head almost the instant he took off his helmet, irritably ran his long fingers through his neat short hair, pointed at the drunkard slumped on the ground, and then turned to look at the security personnel beside him.

"Is this all the quality your store offers?"

The head security guard glanced at Chen Guang's car, then forced a smile and said obsequiously, "I'm so sorry, we'll be right back..."

Before he could finish speaking, the bar manager, beads of sweat on his forehead, jogged over and respectfully handed him a gold-embossed business card. "Sir, what happened was indeed our negligence. We will definitely strengthen our management in the future. Tonight, both of your meals are on the house. What do you say?"

Chen Guang casually toyed with his motorcycle keys, the metal chain making a rhythmic clatter between his fingers. He suddenly looked up, staring intently at the man who was completely drunk. "That fat pig, what are you planning to do with him?"

The manager's smile froze on his face as the drunk man was being escorted into the store by two security guards, still swearing profusely. Chen Guang whistled, and the bartenders instinctively stopped in their tracks.

“Calling the police is too much trouble.” He slowly removed his gloves, his long, slender knuckles stretching the seams slightly. “How about this, we each compromise: he touches my friend once, and I touch him once. It’s fair!”

Before the manager could react, Chen Guang had already dismounted from his motorcycle, strode towards the drunk man, and stood in front of him, coldly staring down at him.

The drunkard, his face flushed, yelled, "Hurry up and touch them! My brothers are still waiting for me inside! You'd better watch out..."

Before he finished speaking, Chen Guang cracked his knuckles and punched the drunkard hard in the groin, delivering a vicious uppercut that landed precisely on the man's groin.

The recoil and immense pain caused the drunkard to open his mouth wide and stare blankly as he fell backward, his face contorted in agony. A muffled whimper escaped his throat, and a suspicious wet patch was visibly visible on his crotch.

The security guards hurriedly helped the drunk man up. He was sweating profusely, his face contorted in pain, and he was screaming in agony, his legs clamped together. He was no longer behaving the lewdly he had when he was harassing Lin Yu.

The manager had thoroughly experienced Chen Guang's methods. With people coming and going at the bar entrance, to avoid a fight affecting business, he chose to settle things peacefully, dragging the nearly unconscious man quickly into the bar. What they would do next was no longer Chen Guang's concern.

With the crisis averted, Yao Fangfang was the first to come to her senses. She first looked at Chen Guang, whose face was gloomy, and then turned to look at Lin Yu, who was hiding behind her, silent and with a flushed face.

An awkward atmosphere flowed silently between the two. Yao Fangfang, standing between them, could only smile helplessly at Chen Guang. "It's so late, thank you for making this trip."

Chen Guang leaned against the car, still being polite to Yao Fangfang. "I happened to have a competition nearby, and Zhang Yunzhou called me, worried that something might have happened to you, so he asked me to come and check on you on my way."

Yao Fangfang nodded after hearing this. "Thank you for earlier!"

"Hmph, it's a pity some people don't appreciate it!" Hearing Chen Guang's accusation, Lin Yu swayed and peeked out from behind Yao Fangfang, squinting as he was about to defend himself when he saw Zhang Yunzhou's car parked on the side of the road.

Chen Guang kept a cold face and never glanced at Lin Yu again, only raising his chin at Zhang Yunzhou who was walking briskly towards him.

Lin Yu could clearly feel the oppressive atmosphere surrounding him, and subconsciously shrank back behind Yao Fangfang, burying her face in her friend's shoulder. The lingering scent of perfume on Yao Fangfang, mixed with the coolness of the night breeze, became her best refuge at that moment.

Zhang Yunzhou ran up to Yao Fangfang, panting, and examined her from head to toe like a scanner. "Are you hurt?"

"It's nothing, just a minor hiccup. Chen Guang has already taken care of it." He then smiled kindly at Chen Guang.

Zhang Yunzhou was relieved and smiled politely at Lin Yu, saying, "You've become even more beautiful in just a few days! Not bad!"

Lin Yu probably heard this nickname from Yao Fangfang last time. Since Lin Yu had a good impression of Zhang Yunzhou, she did not object to him calling her by her nickname.

"Hehe, you have good taste!" A gust of cold wind blew, and Lin Yu felt dizzy, with goosebumps rising on his bare arms.

"Thank you so much for your help today!" The alcohol was churning in her stomach, and she could only bite her lower lip and blurt out a few words before she dared not speak further, worried that she would scatter flowers in public.

Zhang Yunzhou's gaze swept over Chen Guang, who stood to the side with his arms crossed, silent as if it were none of his business. His aura was so unapproachable that it seemed as if uttering a single word would be burned to ashes by his gaze.

This unusual emotion instantly sparked Zhang Yunzhou's desire to tease him. "Don't say that, it's my honor to be bothered by a beautiful woman!" He deliberately raised his voice, observing Chen Guang's reaction out of the corner of his eye, only to see him give a cold snort without being moved.

"The dorm rooms are all closed. Where were you planning to go after this?"

Yao Fangfang tucked a few stray hairs, ruffled by the wind, behind her ear. "The hotel near the school, the room is already booked."

"Is your boyfriend picking you up?" Zhang Yunzhou asked casually, his fingers unconsciously rubbing the car keys.

"We broke up." Yao Fangfang stated the facts calmly, as if she had no intention of continuing this meaningless test with him. "This time you don't have to worry about being ambushed."

Zhang Yunzhou awkwardly touched the back of his neck, unsure how to respond, and could only turn to Lin Yu. "It's so late, let me take you home, Banban?" His tone suddenly became cautious, as if he were the one who had done something wrong.

Chen Guang suddenly delivered a light punch to Zhang Yunzhou's chest. "So, you two are pretty close, huh? Enough with the nonsense!"

In her drunken haze, Lin Yu heard Chen Guang finally speak, and her brain automatically interpreted this as a signal that the alarm had been lifted. She staggered out of Yao Fangfang's arms, grabbed Chen Guang's arm with one hand, and covered the cold metal car body with the other.

"I want to ride in this car!" Her voice, under the influence of alcohol, had the illusion of her being pleading with someone.

"This car is so cool...it must be expensive, right? Is it faster than Zhang Yunzhou's four-wheeled car? Whoosh...ugh..."

Lin Yu suddenly covered his mouth with his hand, but still stared at Chen Guang with a pair of big eyes covered in purple eyeshadow, and said in a muffled voice, "I promise I won't throw up in your car!" Chen Guang's tightly pursed lips twitched almost imperceptibly.

Seeing him staring at her without saying a word, Lin Yu turned to Yao Fangfang for help. Yao Fangfang immediately understood and patted her on the back. "Zhang Yunzhou and I have a few words to say. Drive slowly and be careful. I'll wait for you in the hotel lobby!"

Seeing that Chen Guang did not raise any objections, the two turned around and walked one after the other toward the silver-gray SUV parked by the roadside.

Lin Yu was still drunk and hanging on the motorcycle, like a child who had received a new toy, refusing to let go, completely unaware of Chen Guang's increasingly deep gaze.

After Yao Fangfang and the others had gone far away, Chen Guang finally took a good look at the drunkard in front of him. She was completely different from her usual self today.

Her pale yellow ponytail cascaded down, styled into shoulder-length waves that gathered in front of her chest. Her delicate face, adorned with makeup, presented a colorful and comical appearance, yet upon closer inspection, one could almost catch a glimpse of mature desire within this comicality.

Her cheeks were slightly flushed, whether from drinking or blush, and the flush spread all the way to her neck. The heavy purple eyeshadow made her rabbit-like eyes look even bigger and deeper, as if they were trying to suck Chen Guang's soul into them.

The lipstick on her lips had been mostly smudged off from drinking, revealing a faint pink hue that drew the eye.

Chen Guang suppressed the crazy idea in his mind of wiping the lipstick that had spilled from the corner of her mouth. His hands hung down at his sides, his fingertips tingling from the thought, and he could only irritably rub his fingers. It was as if a raging rock musician was hiding in his chest.

Lin Yu stepped forward and, taking advantage of the alcohol, grabbed Chen Guang's sleeve and wouldn't let go.

She had to stand on tiptoe to barely reach Chen Guang's neck. Because she was leaning so close to him, her collar was pulled down even lower, and from Chen Guang's angle, he could even see a shallow cleavage that stretched to the unknown end of desire.
