Lu Ning walked in the fog for two thousand years. When he emerged, he found the world seemed to be sick.
The sun grew tentacles, the planets were covered in flesh and blood, the moon grew num...
Xuanxu immediately turned his gaze to the eyeball.
"Hmm? His divine power is indeed present... but the connection to His true form has been severed."
Lu Ning glanced at his eyeballs and realized that he could no longer see the moon through them.
Xuanxu took the eyeball, and mysterious runes flowed in the mirrored pupils of his eyes.
The pupil projects the eyeball into each of its mirror-like surfaces.
A moment later, he handed the eyeball back to Lu Ning and said, "As it stands, this eyeball is now equivalent to a highly dangerous item; there's nothing special about it."
At this point, Xuanxu paused and said, "Tell me in detail what you experienced in the 233rd Mist."
Yann nodded and recounted what had happened in the Mist No. 233.
When Xuanxu heard that the king of the pilgrim race had become a god and the capital had fallen, Lu Ning clearly saw Xuanxu pause for a moment while chewing chocolate.
After listening to Ya'en's account, Xuanxu said, "It's not impossible that relics from other civilizations have indeed been discovered in the mist."
Upon hearing this, both Ya'en and An Lan were taken aback.
An Lan asked, somewhat puzzled, "Lord Xuanxu, how come we didn't know?"
Xuanxu glanced at An Lan and laughed, "Only a few of us demigods know about this; it hasn't been spread around."
An Lan suddenly understood and didn't ask any more questions.
Since the demigods were unwilling to spread the news, they obviously had their reasons.
Xuanxu continued, "Since the evil god behind this Departed Brigade has made contact with the moon, the Moon Goddess Cult may make some moves in the near future. I will have someone keep an eye on this matter."
Ya'en and the others nodded slightly.
Xuanxu continued, "Your current task is to find Yan Bing."
After a pause, Xuanxu said, "If Yan Bing really reaches the demigod level and is still human, then putting aside everything else, just in terms of combat power alone, she would be of great help to us humans."
Yaen said, "I understand."
"Well, if there's nothing else, you can go now. I'm going to watch TV."
Xuanxu slumped back onto the sofa.
Ya'en and An Lan exchanged a glance, then stood up and said, "Then we'll be leaving."
Lu Ning also got up, and the three of them turned and left.
Before the group even left the suite, they heard the sound of cartoons coming from the television.
After leaving the suite and closing the door, Yann smiled and said, "The information has been sent. Let's go upstairs. I wonder how Osiris and the others are doing."
The four of them quickly returned to the headquarters lobby, following the route they had taken.
After waiting in the hall for a while, Lu Ning saw Osiris and the others walking over.
Everyone had a smile on their face.
Osiris said, "It's all settled, all the items have been redeemed."
Yann nodded, then smiled and said, "Why don't you rest at my place today? We can talk about it when we get back."
Osiris and the others had no objections.
The group left headquarters and took a taxi to Yann's home in Base City 1.
Yann's home is not far from the central square; it only took a few minutes by taxi to get there.
It was a small estate located in a villa area.
According to Yann, every Saint will have one of these small manors in Base City 1.
Although most saints have families, because saints live very long lives, unless they are very young saints, their partners have mostly died.
If there are descendants, perhaps they will live on the manor.
However, Yann is a saint who has no offspring.
His wife died four hundred years ago, so his estate is empty.
Only staff from the Bureau of the Mist come to clean and tidy up regularly; otherwise, Yann lives alone.
Even Yann himself didn't like living in such an empty place; most of the time, he lived in a small apartment in another neighborhood.
However, given the large number of people this time, it is clearly not suitable for them to stay there.
After entering the manor, Osiris took out some of the items he had exchanged.
“Yarn, this is yours.” Osiris took out a rock that shimmered with golden light.
The rocks radiated a sacred light, and those standing beside them felt as if they had been purified, unable to harbor even the slightest evil thought.
Lu Ning could see extremely dense white fog above, indicating that it was a highly dangerous item.
As for the Soul Weapon, Yaen did not exchange for it.
It's obvious they're keeping the credit to themselves.
Not only Yann, but Osiris and Aishalin also did not exchange for high-risk soul weapons. Instead, each of them exchanged for a special-risk item to use as a trump card.
As a saint, having one or two complementary soul artifacts at the high-risk level is sufficient.
Furthermore, if they are two high-risk soul artifacts, they should be of a type with minimal side effects.
Otherwise, even a saint couldn't withstand it.
Even if a Soul Weapon has minimal side effects, a Saint will not use it simultaneously unless it is at the most critical moment.
Just like when they faced the saints and pilgrims of the Returned Brigade, Aishalin and her two companions only used one Horcrux.
Not everyone is like Lu Ning, who doesn't care how many soul weapons he uses.
During the previous battle, Lu Ning used four high-risk soul artifacts: the Crown of Pain, the Crimson Sword, the Bone Pocket Watch, and the Bell of Resurrection.
Any saint would probably fall ill in this situation.
Even without developing the disease, they can die from the side effects.
As for Lu Ning, he also only exchanged for a single-use, extremely dangerous item.
It's not that Lu Ning can't use one more high-risk soul weapon.
