Lu Ning walked in the fog for two thousand years. When he emerged, he found the world seemed to be sick.
The sun grew tentacles, the planets were covered in flesh and blood, the moon grew num...
When Lu Ning made the noise, he clearly sensed a familiar mental fluctuation coming from afar.
This mental fluctuation came from Yann.
However, Lu Ning still did not see Ya En's figure.
He thought for a moment, then ran quickly toward the direction from which the mental fluctuations of Yann were emanating.
Seeing this, Aishalin and the others in the distance also got up and carefully followed behind.
When Lu Ning arrived at what appeared to be the ruins of some kind of architectural complex, he stepped forward, but it was as if he had stepped over some kind of barrier.
Behind the barrier, he stood on the street.
Buildings lined both sides of the street, and the street was bustling with people.
In a daze, Lu Ning felt as if he had returned to Base City 116.
Lu Ning's gaze swept around, and the crowd did not look like an illusion, but seemed to be real.
Lu Ning tried to reach out and grab a young man who walked past him, and surprisingly grabbed his shoulder; it felt like a physical object.
The young man looked up at Lu Ning with some surprise and asked warily, "Who are you? What do you want?"
Lu Ning silently released his grip and calmly said, "You've mistaken me for someone else."
The young man walked away, grumbling and cursing.
Lu Ning looked back at the path he had come from, only to find that there was no barrier; the path behind him had turned into a street.
At the end of the street, a city wall stands.
This city wall looks familiar; it's the city wall of Base City 65.
Lu Ning felt as if he had returned to the time when Base City No. 65 had not yet been swallowed by the fog and still had vitality.
Although everything seems normal.
However, the fact that no one around him reacted unusually when he suddenly appeared is already a big problem.
After all, as citizens of a base city, their first reaction to an unusual situation is to flee.
After all, abnormalities mean they are related to disease or cults.
No normal citizen of a base city would ignore this.
After a moment of silence, Lu Ning leaped up and landed on the roof of the building, which was more than 30 meters high.
His gaze swept across the crowd below, and some of the people below looked up at Lu Ning in surprise.
This time, they seemed to realize something was wrong.
Lu Ning remained expressionless, took a deep breath, then put his hands to his mouth, making a megaphone shape, and shouted, "Ya'en! Where are you?"
Lu Ning even used the power of soul-shaking and the power of flesh and blood, and the huge sound spread in all directions.
The glass below was shattered by Lu Ning's voice.
The street below descended into chaos as glass shattered.
Lu Ning glanced at it calmly, then looked away.
Just then, Lu Ning suddenly noticed something and looked to his left.
On a tall building in the distance, Lu Ning spotted a familiar figure.
The dirty, tattered white dress and disheveled hair belonged to Yan Bing.
Yan Bing stood on the roof of the building, looking in the direction where Lu Ning was.
However, to Lu Ning's surprise, Yan Bing did not seem to notice Lu Ning's presence.
Her eyes held a hint of inquiry.
She was surrounded by an intense concentration of frost, as if even time itself had been frozen.
She stretched out her pale hand and reached out to grab Lu Ning.
The next moment, Lu Ning noticed a spatial fluctuation in the area where Yan Bing was located, and then Yan Bing's figure disappeared.
Lu Ning raised an eyebrow slightly, seemingly lost in thought.
Then Lu Ning looked in other directions.
His loud shouts just now did not bring out Yann and the others.
While on the ruins, Lu Ning clearly sensed that the mental fluctuations of Ya En and the others were coming from this direction.
After a moment of silence, he began to sacrifice his own flesh and blood.
This time, Lu Ning sacrificed himself more than once; the continuous sacrifice of flesh and blood caused the Crimson Sword to emit an eerie blood-red light.
A satisfied voice echoed in Lu Ning's mind: "So much! Delicious...! Ah~ Great Master!"
As the Crimson Sword continued to absorb flesh and blood, the power it fed back grew stronger and stronger.
As flesh and blood were continuously sacrificed, the pain was reflected on the Crown of Suffering, which in turn continuously supplied Lu Ning with powerful energy.
Lu Ning's aura stopped increasing after he reached a certain limit.
At this point, Lu Ning's aura was still not as strong as Ya'en's, but it was stronger than Osiris and Aishalin's.
He did not suppress his mental fluctuations; the mental fluctuations of a high-level saint transformed into tangible red ripples, spreading in all directions.
The pedestrians below seemed to sense something was wrong, and they all showed expressions of fear and fled.
At the same time, Lu Ning felt several mental fluctuations rapidly approaching.
These mental fluctuations weren't particularly strong; the strongest among them was an eighth-tier Awakened.
Besides this eighth-tier awakener, there are four seventh-tier awakeners and more than ten sixth-tier awakeners.
Lu Ning's gaze swept across the area, looking in the direction where those auras were approaching.
Soon, Lu Ning saw several figures flying rapidly towards him.
One of the seventh-tier awakened individuals is a telekinetic user, and he is using his telekinesis to lift the others up and move them in this direction.
The leader was a middle-aged man with blond hair.
They were wearing black trench coats, a style that Lu Ning was very familiar with.
They are from the Bureau of Mystery.
These awakened members of the Mist Bureau landed on a rooftop some distance from Lu Ning, and then watched Lu Ning warily.
The blond man at the head of the group looked at Lu Ning, who was wearing a blood-red robe and radiating blood-red ripples, with a very tense expression.
But he still took a deep breath and mustered his courage to leap toward the tall building where Lu Ning was.
The blond man stopped on the rooftop of a building two stories high, two stories away from Lu Ning.
