In Fangjia Village, three women are labeled as "crazy."
These three women, with their three different forms of "madness," encounter three distinct life situations and destinie...
Fang Yu didn't receive a letter from Fang Dongqiang this semester, but instead heard rumors that she wanted to go to the county town to study with him.
Fang Yu took her lunchbox to the cafeteria to steam rice and ran into Ling Dan, her elementary school classmate. Ling Dan was now in Class 3, not in the same class as Fang Yu. "Fang Yu, I heard you're transferring schools next semester?" Ling Dan asked casually.
"Huh?" Fang Yu was startled. "Lingdan, why did you say that?" Although she had her own thoughts, she hadn't told any of her classmates here.
"Isn't that right? They said you're going to study in the city."
“The elixir,” Fang Yu pulled her aside, “who told you about this?”
"I forgot who told me, but it was a classmate from elementary school who said that." Lingdan smiled and looked at Fang Yu. "Fang Yu, you and Dong," Lingdan immediately changed her words, "the schools in the city are better. Our village school is always a few steps behind when it comes to anything popular."
Fang Yu bit her lip. "Lingdan, were you trying to mention Dong Qiang just now?"
"It's true, you guys really..." Lingdan seemed a little excited that she had guessed correctly.
Fang Yu waited a long time for Fang Dongqiang's letter, and wondered if it might have been taken or lost by someone else. But she was able to receive letters from her mother, so she dismissed the idea.
Lingdan's question today made her suspect that Fang Dongqiang must have sent a letter, but it was taken by someone else, and that it was a classmate from their elementary school days. The new classmate didn't know who Fang Dongqiang was.
"Lingdan, can you think carefully about who told you this?" Fang Yu looked at Lingdan anxiously.
"I just heard that you're transferring schools. Oh dear, I don't care what others say. I'm going to the classroom now." Lingdan said and left.
Fang Yu also went back to the classroom. She made a special trip past the classroom of Class (3) and looked inside through the window, wondering who her classmates from elementary school would be.
When Lingdan saw her, she frowned, pretended not to see her, and lowered her head to deliberately look for a book.
"Fang Yu, who are you looking for in our class?" Minqin, who used to be in the same class as her, called out when she saw her.
Minqin's shout drew the attention of several students in the classroom, including Xiaoyan, who had been there before. Xiaoyan glanced at Fang Yu outside the window, then immediately turned her head away, her gaze peeking out from the corner of her eye, the whites of her eyes more than her pupils.
Why was Xiaoyan looking at her like that? Could it be Xiaoyan? Fang Yu even had a gut feeling that it was her. When Xiaoyan was in elementary school, she was the one who told her classmates that Fang Dongqiang liked her, and that she liked Fang Dongqiang, but later the two didn't have much contact and just went their separate ways.
Fang Yu smiled at Minqin and said, "I was just passing by to take a look."
How should she ask? There was no evidence. If Fang Dongqiang had really sent a letter, it would have been several months ago. Asking now would be too late. Fang Yu returned to her classroom.
I was thinking about whether to ask Xiaoyan, but how? Should I just leave it at that? I felt so frustrated. But if I asked, I didn't know how, and I had no evidence.
She looked very unfriendly at me just now. Why did she do that? I should just ask her what she's unhappy about. Well, just asking that is fine. I feel uncomfortable if I don't ask.
Xiaoyan is from this village. She attends school commuting to school and always eats at home.
After finishing lunch, Fang Yu went to the school gate to wait for Xiao Yan. Shi Feihao was also wandering around the school. He saw Fang Yu standing at the gate and secretly observed who she was waiting for and what she was doing.
"Xiaoyan." As soon as Xiaoyan entered the school, Fang Yu called out to her.
"What's wrong?" Xiaoyan's tone was still not very good.
"I have a question for you?" Before Fang Yu could even ask, Xiao Yan, feeling guilty, blurted out, "You have no proof whatsoever, but I didn't take anything from you?"
Now it was almost certain that Xiaoyan had taken her letter. Fang Yu suppressed her excitement and said, "Xiaoyan, I didn't come here to ask about your letter."
Xiaoyan's expression changed instantly. Realizing she had spoken too quickly, she glared at Fang Yu and turned to leave, saying, "I don't want to talk to you."
"I'm going to ask you now, did you take my letter?" Fang Yu grabbed her arm.
"No!" Xiaoyan flung her away.
At this moment, Shi Feihao ran over, "Fang Yu, what's wrong?"
Xiaoyan had already walked quickly towards the classroom.
"Fang Yu, what's wrong? What happened?" Shi Feihao asked again.
"No, it's nothing." Fang Yu didn't want Shi Feihao to get involved.
Fang Yu returned to her classroom, feeling very annoyed. She lay on her desk, resting her forehead in the crook of her arm, staring blankly at the ground.
Someone patted her on the shoulder. Fang Yu looked up and saw Shi Feihao. "Are you coming with me?"
"What are you doing?"
"That person just said she told you everything."
Fang Yu immediately stood up. "What are you doing?"
"Just follow me." Fang Yu followed Shi Feihao to a corner of the school playground.
Xiaoyan was there, with two male classmates who often went with Shi Feihao. "You go ahead, I'll stay here and watch. Call me if you need help," Shi Feihao waved to the two male classmates, beckoning them over.
Fang Yu walked over, and Xiao Yan glanced at her before turning her face away. Fang Yu asked again, "Did you take my letter?"
Xiaoyan glanced at Shi Feihao, who was still not far away, and said, "Yes, I took the wrong one."
"Did Fang Dongqiang send it to me?"
"Don't you know who you're writing to?"
“I even wrote to my mom, and I asked you if the letter you took was the one Fang Dongqiang sent me?”
Yes, it was written to you by him.
Fang Yu took a deep breath. "Why did you do this?"
"Why is he so good to you, helping you since elementary school?"
"It's none of your business, but what I want to tell you is, don't say anything about me and him dating again. I know it's you, and if I hear it again, I won't be polite. Fang Dongqiang and I aren't dating; I just asked him about their school..."
"I don't care if you have it or not, it's none of my business. Have you finished asking? Are you satisfied? I've said everything I needed to say. Tell him not to bother me again." Xiaoyan glared at Shi Feihao again.
"Okay, but don't touch my things again, and don't talk about me behind my back." Fang Yu suddenly remembered something from second grade and swallowed hard. "Xiaoyan, when I was in elementary school, you were the one who lost my clothes and pencil case, weren't you?"
Although Fang Yu also thought it was her last time, she didn't say it to her face.
Xiaoyan's eyes suddenly widened, as if frozen in place, then she looked to the side, "Who would remember things from elementary school?"
"Okay, I won't bring up the elementary school matter anymore. From now on, we'll have nothing to do with each other, and we'll keep to ourselves. I don't want to make enemies with anyone."
"Okay, I've said everything I need to say. Don't send anyone to look for me again."
"As long as you don't do anything to me, no one will come after you."
Xiaoyan turned and left.
Shi Feihao ran over, "Fang Yu, is everything resolved?"
"It's alright now."
"Tell me if anything happens in the future."
"It's really alright now. Don't look for her again." Fang Yu nodded to Shi Feihao. "Thank you!"
"What are you thanking me for? Don't be so polite! My cousin's job is to protect his cousin, isn't it?"
"I'm going back to the classroom."
"Okay, let me know if you need anything! I'll take care of it." Shi Feihao was pleased with himself for helping Fang Yu, feeling that his cousin was really useful.
