...Upon hearing the term "in-laws," Ye Zhenning finally breathed a sigh of relief and glanced at Ye Ruoxin out of the corner of his eye.
Ye Ruoxin immediately stepped forward, placed a cup of brewed tea in front of Madam Pei, and said obediently.
"Auntie, please have a cup of tea before you go."
Madam Pei glanced at the tea and chuckled softly.
"No need for tea, I'm afraid I won't be able to sleep if I drink tea so late at night. I appreciate your kind offer, but please come visit Minghan next time. It seems like it's been a long time since you two last met."
Ye Ruoxin nodded, her face beaming.
“Okay, I miss Minghan too, but he’s been busy with work lately and doesn’t have time to spend with me. I don’t want to bother him and disturb his work.”
Madam Pei nodded, somewhat satisfied with Ye Ruoxin's words.
Ye Zhenning smiled and gestured for him to proceed.
"My dear in-law, I'll take you home so that Xin Xin can get some rest."
Before leaving, Madam Pei said something.
"Let me know when you're discharged, and I'll have Minghan come pick you up."
Ye Ruoxin escorted the two to the door.
"Okay, definitely."
...
Almost simultaneously, Li Mochuan's extended Rolls-Royce drove through the streets and alleys and finally stopped in front of the small building where Ye Ningwan was.
The assistant watched as Li Mochuan opened the car door and got out, and instinctively wanted to follow him out.
Li Mochuan turned around and stopped him.
"No need, I can go up by myself."
Li Mochuan stepped into the dark stairwell. With each steady step, the lights above lit up one by one, and the area he walked through gradually dimmed.
He continued until he reached the door of apartment 601 on the top floor, raised his hand, and knocked on the iron door.
A familiar female voice came from inside the door.
Who is it?
