...Ye Ningwan followed the path she had come from and climbed directly up the outer wall to the second-floor balcony. Just as she was about to climb back to her room with her bare hands, she suddenly heard a low cry from downstairs.
"Ye Ningwan?!"
Startled, Ye Ningwan slipped and lost her footing. Her raised hand hadn't even grasped the protruding wall above her, leaving her hanging in mid-air with only one hand still gripping it tightly.
Holy crap!
Ye Ningwan cursed inwardly.
On the grass below, a male voice roared without any restraint.
"Ye Ningwan, are you out of your mind? Hold on tight, I'm going to get help right now!"
His roar was so loud that it was even clearer in the quiet morning, almost reaching every corner of the Pei family's main residence. Soon, bodyguards and servants heard the noise and rushed over.
Ye Ningwan couldn't help but curse inwardly.
Does Jiang Yinglin, that idiot, not have a home of his own? Why is he running to the Pei family every other day? Everyone's sleeping in bed this early in the morning, but he's like a mouse, scurrying around everywhere!
Ye Ningwan gritted her teeth, straightened her back, and finally climbed onto the balcony before the servants and bodyguards arrived.
The next moment, the bodyguard rushed over and immediately asked Jiang Yinglin, who was standing on the grass with a grim expression.
"Young Master Jiang, what's wrong? What happened?"
Jiang Yinglin raised his hand and pointed to Ye Ningwan, who had been hanging in mid-air.
"Quick...quick...quickly go and prepare the rope!"
The bodyguard looked in the direction Jiang Yinglin was pointing, looking completely bewildered.
"There's nothing there? Young Master Jiang, did you get up too early and not wake up properly, so you're seeing things wrong?"
Jiang Yinglin immediately looked over as well, only to find that the space between the second and third floors, where Ye Ningwan had been hanging, was now completely empty.
His heart skipped a beat, and he subconsciously glanced around, realizing that Ye Ningwan probably hadn't fallen but had climbed up. He breathed a sigh of relief and forced a smile at the bodyguard.
"You're right, I got up too early. I must have been seeing things! Hahaha, let's go, let's all go back to our work, it's alright!"
The bodyguard gave an awkward smile. Although he had his doubts, he couldn't see anything in front of him, so he put the matter out of his mind and prepared to leave.
But from the side, a lazy voice could be heard drifting out.
