...The bodyguard's surprised yet somewhat indescribable voice reached Li Mochuan's ears.
Li Mochuan frowned, stood up, and walked towards the restroom.
Immediately afterwards, Li Mochuan witnessed a terrifying scene that he would never forget.
A man dressed in black, despite being blocked by two bodyguards, lunged at the toilet like a hyena that had been thirsty for an entire dry season on the African savanna, panting wildly as if he would die of thirst if he waited even a second longer.
When the bodyguard saw Li Mochuan standing at the bathroom door, he looked at Li Mochuan with a helpless and at a loss.
“Mr. Li, we really can’t stop him, he’s like a madman.”
Li Mochuan frowned, clearly confirming that this person, like Liao Qiongfeng before him, had been hypnotized by the woman who broke into the manor.
However, Li Mochuan couldn't understand what deep-seated grudge that petty thief had against this person that made him go through all this trouble.
Finally, the bodyguard caught the guy who was clinging to the toilet.
One bodyguard tied his hands behind his back and pressed them in front of Li Mochuan, while another bodyguard grabbed his hair and forced him to raise his head.
"Ah—let me go! Let me go!"
What Li Mochuan saw was a ferocious face. His face was covered in water and contorted as he frantically tried to break free from the bodyguards' restraints, but he was no match for them and could only scream desperately.
Li Mochuan stared silently at the beast-like man, his gaze deep and cold, uttering a few words without a trace of emotion.
“This is not someone I know.”
The bodyguard was surprised.
This person was dressed in the same black outfit as the bodyguards, so they assumed he was a colleague.
Upon closer inspection, it is indeed not true.
"Could they be bodyguards from the manor?"
After all, the manor has its own basic security.
But soon, Li Mochuan spoke with great certainty.
"They're not from the manor either."
Although the bodyguard was surprised, he did not doubt Li Mochuan's words in the slightest.
They had been by Li Mochuan's side for quite some time and knew their boss's abilities; he could remember anyone he had met even once.
Since Li Mochuan says it's not true, then it must not be.
The two bodyguards exchanged glances, both seeing a hint of shock in each other's eyes.
The implication is that...
"Besides the petty thief we're catching, someone else has infiltrated the manor!"
They might even arrive earlier than the petty thief who caused trouble all night.
The two bodyguards looked extremely grim.
Li Mochuan gave a cold laugh.
"Ha, what an impenetrable security system, it's actually like a honeycomb."
Although Li Mochuan was smiling, those who knew him well knew just how angry he was at that moment!
Neither of the two bodyguards dared to speak again. They simply lowered their heads and waited silently for Li Mochuan to speak, not even daring to breathe too loudly.
The spacious and bright bathroom felt cramped and suffocating, with only the magician's beast-like roars echoing incessantly, layer upon layer, piercing the eardrums.
The scene was chaotic and silent. The two bodyguards kept their heads down, not daring to look at the expression on Li Mochuan's face at this moment.
Finally, Li Mochuan reached out and pinched the magician's nape.
With a crisp click, the magician's head tilted to the side and slumped down like a lump of mud.
"Take him away and interrogate him thoroughly when he wakes up. Something's not right here."
Li Mochuan immediately thought of the assassination attempt he had encountered a few days ago. His eyes turned cold, and he seemed to be thinking about something even more profound. His thin lips pressed into a stern line.
The two bodyguards dared not look at him again and hurriedly helped the unconscious magician away.
Li Mochuan walked out of the bathroom and stood in the study for a long, long time, unconsciously clenching the jade pendant in his hand.
He lowered his eyes and looked at the jade pendant in his palm, muttering to himself.
"Niannian, could that person be you?"
No one answered him in the empty study.
...
Then there's Ye Ningwan.
After she jumped off the building, she quickly made her way to the balcony below, and then jumped down to the first floor.
The balcony was on the second floor, and the height wasn't a big problem for her, especially since Li Mochuan's study faced a soft, green lawn.
Ye Ningwan dared not linger, and quickly left the place using the lush vegetation as cover, sneaking into the building next door.
At this moment, most people must be gathered in the building where Li Mochuan is, and loopholes will appear in other places.
What Ye Ningwan didn't expect was that the room she randomly sneaked into turned out to be Li Mochuan's bedroom!
For a moment, she didn't know whether to say she was lucky or unlucky.
But since we're already here, it would be a waste not to take a look.
So she quickly searched through Li Mochuan's bedroom, looking for anything valuable or that could be used as intelligence.
But in the end, they gained nothing.
She peeked through the curtains and saw that the entire manor was once again engulfed in noise and chaos, with lights flickering and the whole manor shrouded in light pollution.
This is never going to end!
Ye Ningwan slammed her hand on the painting in front of her in displeasure, sighed deeply, and pondered how she should get out.
Suddenly, the painting she was pressing on inexplicably dented, followed by a mechanical clicking sound.
