...Outside Li Mochuan's manor, a dark blue Maybach was parked at the intersection halfway up the mountain.
Ye Zhenning looked out the window and could see the magnificent manor in the mountains. His eyes practically sparked with rage.
"Thump! Thump!"
Ye Yongchen pounded the car door twice.
The car door made a loud noise, trembled slightly, and groaned as if it might fall off at any moment.
Ye Yongchen gritted his teeth and growled.
"Damn it! That bitch Ye Ningwan! She actually pulled this stunt on us, making us lose all face. If word gets out, I don't know how many people will laugh at me!"
Ye Yongchen's angry growl echoed in the enclosed carriage, causing the driver in front to instinctively shrink back, feeling an urge to flee.
Ye Zhenning pressed down on Ye Yongchen's shoulder and reprimanded him in a cold voice.
"Alright, what's the point of throwing a tantrum now? You'll only make yourself a laughingstock! Calm down!"
Ye Yongchen closed his eyes, took a few deep breaths, and finally suppressed his temper. The bloodshot eyes slowly faded.
Ye Yongchen turned his head and looked at Ye Zhenning with a stiff face.
"Dad, what do we do now?"
Ye Zhenning rolled his eyes and thought for a long time before speaking.
"The most important thing right now is to see Ye Ningwan. So... call the Municipal Public Security Bureau. Aren't you... quite familiar with them? Ask them to help mediate. The most important thing right now is to get your sister out of there!"
Upon hearing this, Ye Yongchen immediately realized what was happening, clenched his fist and slammed it into his palm, then laughed and said...
"Yes, let's try to turn this into a civil case so we can mediate it. That way, Xinxin can be released soon!"
Ye Yongchen picked up his phone.
"I'll make a call right away."
...
An hour later, Ye Ningwan went downstairs and sneaked into the kitchen.
Braised pork ribs were cooking in the kitchen; this was a dish Ye Ning had ordered later.
Ye Ningwan stared longingly at the braised pork ribs in the pot, as if she wished she could reach out and scoop a piece out to eat.
"Smack!"
The cook slapped Ye Ningwan's outstretched hand, glared at her, and scolded her irritably.
"Careful, it'll burn your hand!"
As she spoke, the aunt used her chopsticks to scoop a piece of braised pork rib from the pot, placed it on a small plate, and handed it to Ye Ningwan.
"Be careful, it's hot."
Ye Ningwan eagerly took the plate, grabbed a rib with her hand and stuffed it into her mouth. She was scalded and kept panting, but she refused to spit it out. It took her a long time to spit out a bone, and she finally managed to chew and swallow it.
The chef, standing nearby, looked on helplessly, pinched Ye Ningwan's earlobe reproachfully, and said with a smile.
"You're such a grown-up, why are you still acting like a child? You won't spit out what you've stuffed in your mouth. Let me see, are you burned?"
This aunt was brought over from the villa on the hillside by Grizzly Bear to cook for Ye Ningwan. Ye Ningwan always said that the aunt's cooking tasted like her mother's, so Pei Fengzhi brought her out of the Pei family's old house, and now she has been brought to Li Mochuan's manor.
The cook was very kind to Ye Ningwan, and often treated her like a child.
Ye Ningwan smiled and looked at the chef, sticking out her hot, numb tongue.
"It's delicious! I love Auntie's cooking the most!"
The cook couldn't help but laugh when she saw Ye Ningwan's expression, and reached out to pat her head.
"You..."
Ye Ningwan said.
"Auntie, shall I help you cook?"
The cook pushed Ye Ningwan out, complaining with annoyance.
"What can you do? The kitchen is smoky, what can you do? Get out, get out, get out, don't bother me here... Go, go, go..."
Ye Ningwan, however, lingered in the kitchen and refused to leave.
She acted coquettishly towards her aunt.
"Let me help you."
"Alright, stop lounging in my kitchen and get out of here! It's so annoying!"
As they were talking, Ye Ningwan was pushed out by the kitchen auntie.
Ye Ningwan clung to the kitchen door, refusing to leave. Just then, the housekeeper rushed over.
Seeing Ye Ningwan arguing with the kitchen aunt, the housekeeper coughed awkwardly.
"Cough cough!"
Ye Ningwan then turned around and looked at the housekeeper with a half-smile.
"Are the police here?"
The butler was taken aback, clearly not expecting Ye Ningwan to guess it, and nodded blankly.
"Ah... um... yes... the police came with the Ye family father and son, saying they wanted to mediate the assault case at the yacht club, but... how did you know?"
Ye Ningwan blinked.
"Just a guess."
Where are they now?
The butler immediately spoke.
"As Mr. Li instructed, they have been invited in and are now waiting in the living room."
Ye Ningwan turned around and gave the cook a smile.
"Auntie, lunch will be delayed by an hour today. I'll be right back."
After Ye Ningwan finished speaking, she waved to the cook and turned to walk towards the living room.
...
In the living room, Luo Rui and the Ye family father and son were sitting there. When they saw Ye Ningwan walk in, Luo Rui stood up.
"Miss Ye."
Ye Ningwan smiled and curled her lips at Luo Rui, speaking with a beaming smile.
"Captain Luo, I didn't expect to see you again so soon. If I remember correctly, you still owe me an apology."
