Chapter 185 Sack (2/2)

The servile and obsequious "sack" movie is making a comeback.

What is a "sack movie"? Many younger viewers may be unfamiliar with this term. In the past, there was a group of directors who made it their mission to film the suffering, misery, poverty, backwardness, and ignorance of the small world. They exaggerated and peddled the hardships and wounds of the urban fringes or rural areas, catering to the "lower class" aesthetic stereotyped by the middle class. Under the banner of "exposing ugliness," they went to foreign film festivals to sell their ugliness and smear our lower-class people, winning a trophy or two from foreigners!

They use blood-soaked buns to earn glittering, illusory honors!

Among these, Zhang Mi's film "Sack Clothes" stands out. Therefore, this type of film is known as the "Sack Film."

In recent years, due to economic development and the improvement of audiences' aesthetic awareness, these kinds of films have gradually lost their market. I haven't seen this type of film for several years now. Sometimes I even forget that such a small parasite exists in the film market.

It wasn't until last night, after watching "The Mute Woman," that I suddenly realized: parasites don't disappear; they just come back in a different guise!

"The Mute Woman" is an extreme, unrealistic, and meaningless film filled with the malicious speculations of an detached middle-class person!

Beneath the exquisite filming techniques lies an empty core; beneath the perfect composition and lighting lies a withered mind; beneath the superb acting lies a spineless body.

Fortunately, after seeing the box office results of this movie, I breathed a sigh of relief—our audiences will no longer be deceived by such false, flattering, and condescending things.

The plummeting box office is precisely the answer our vibrant and upward-looking era has to slapstick cinema!

Even so, watching a movie leaves an impression. The content of the film shouldn't be used as a weapon to attack the lead actor. Even if I disdain this melodramatic film, I still want to ask the creative team questions to avoid being unfairly targeted.

I have seven questions about the film "The Mute Woman," and I would like the creative team to answer them.

First question: @叶初Leaves @古文华不想研究古文化, have you ever understood the real countryside?

My second question is, @叶初Leaves and @古文华, what's the point of not wanting to study ancient culture and praising suffering?

Third question, @叶初Leaves, as a rural person, Xiao Yue has fair and delicate skin. Is it because you have an idol image to maintain?

Fourth question: @叶初Leaves @古文华不想研究古文化, what was your stance and perspective when you made this film?

Fifth question: @叶初Leaves @古文华不想研究古文化, does this film contain any plot elements that depict suffering for the sake of suffering?

Question 6: @叶初Leaves @古文华 I don't want to study ancient culture, what is the main theme of this movie?

Question 7: @叶初Leaves @古文华 What is the purpose of making this film if you don't want to study ancient culture?

I will keep this post pinned until I get an answer, until @叶初Leaves and @古文华不想研究古文化 respond to my question!

The visitor is not friendly.

After reading this article, Shang Yechu's first impression was summed up in these four words.

As a popular young actress, Su Ge possesses basic vigilance and a keen sense of smell. She's right; this article is indeed aimed at Shang Yechu. The implication is clear: it's meant to ruin Shang Yechu.

Putting everything else aside, if Shang Yechu really does use the terms mentioned in Dong Hongtao's article, then the project "Half of the Sky" is off the table. It would be a miracle if Zheng Bohan didn't smash Shang Yechu's head in half.

Forget it, now is not the time to think about these things.

As an ordinary citizen, Shang Yechu, like anyone else, possessed a natural and simple patriotic sentiment. This feeling was as commonplace as breathing, something Shang Yechu had never paid attention to before. When Dong Hongtao pointed his finger at him and started firing, Shang Yechu's first feeling was not guilt or fear, but rather bewilderment, along with some anger and resentment at being wronged.

As a core member of the film's creative team, Shang Yechu knew better than anyone that what Dong Hongtao said was nonsense.

The reason for writing the script for "The Mute Woman" was that Wuhua was making sauerkraut and wanted to earn some pocket money. She'd be thrilled with just three thousand yuan. As long as it made her money, she'd do anything, let alone "The Mute Woman," even a crying woman, a laughing woman, or a screaming woman.

Ji Juntao bought the script for "The Mute Woman" simply because college students sell scripts for low prices; he took a chance and picked up a small bargain. Many companies and bosses in the entertainment industry do the same.

The original intention behind filming the script for "The Mute Woman" was that Gu Wenhua wanted to complete her graduation project so she wouldn't have to delay her graduation, Shang Yechu wanted to hone her acting skills and learn about pain, and as for Qi Ming, Li Zhenxiang, and others, they were simply there to earn their paychecks!

How can such a group of people, who rushed to film something in just over ten days, be given such a big label?

Shang Yechu stared repeatedly at words like "smear," "servile," "arrogant," and "whining without cause" in the article, her brows furrowing more and more as she read.

The number of reposts continues to grow, having already exceeded 1,700. If this continues, it's only a matter of time before it trends on social media.

Shang Yechu believed she had a clear conscience. However, in the entertainment industry, a simple statement like "I have a clear conscience" is never enough to change the tide of public opinion and garner widespread support from fans and the general public.

The question now is, what should we do?
