Second, in order to protect "Anna Doriya," they watched helplessly as Shao Guangji and Yang Huanyi acted as a matchmaker, causing "The Heavenly Emperor" to fall through.
Oh no! I've been working on "The Heavenly Emperor" for so long, and someone's going to snatch it away!
What should have been a perfect two-way blockade has turned into a choice between two options!
Shang Yechu's vision blurred, and all thoughts of her family's troubles vanished. Her heart was burning with anxiety, but she had to pretend to be nonchalant in front of Yang Huanyi: "It's alright. Teacher Shao's collaboration is almost finished, he won't care about these things. At worst, I'll apologize to him on your behalf next time I see him."
"Alright." Yang Huanyi seemed unsuspecting. "Are you hungry? Shall I order you something to eat?"
Shang Yechu paused for a moment, then said, "I need to go to the restroom."
Yang Huanyi immediately said, "Then shall I help you?"
Shang Yechu shook her head.
Yang Huanyi raised an eyebrow in confusion.
Shang Yechu forced a shy expression and said in a muffled voice, "You're in your room, I'm too embarrassed to go."
The VIP ward has a private bathroom, and the soundproofing and hygiene are top-notch. Although she didn't understand why Shang Yechu, who had been perfectly fine when they lived together, suddenly seemed shy, Yang Huanyi nodded and smiled, "Okay, I'll go out for a bit. Call me when you're done. But, can you stand up by yourself?"
"It's nothing." Shang Yechu stretched her arms. "I just have a hand injury, but I'm fine."
Yang Huanyi felt relieved and turned to leave.
Three seconds after her figure disappeared from sight, Shang Yechu threw off the blanket, roughly ripped the IV needle off the back of her hand, and, ignoring the spurting blood from the wound, scrambled out of bed!
The moment her feet touched the floor, Shang Yechu's legs went weak, and she almost knelt on the ground. She scrambled to her feet, like a lame fighting rooster, grabbed her phone, and stumbled into the bathroom.
After locking the bathroom door, Shang Yechu dialed Ji Juntao's number and urgently whispered, "Ji Juntao! What's going on with Shao Guangji?"
Ji Juntao asked, bewildered, "What? What happened? Oh right, that family has already been sent away. They probably won't come back in their lifetime—"
"Stop with this nonsense," Shang Yechu said urgently. "How are your negotiations with Shao Guangji going?"
"The old man won't budge. He's a tough nut to crack. But filming for 'The Heavenly Emperor' hasn't even started yet, so he's afraid to make a move, worried he'll be sued and lose everything. With both sides at this stalemate, I'm getting tired of trying to persuade him."
Shao Guangji indeed had a trump card up his sleeve.
Shang Yechu felt dizzy and sat on the toilet with her legs spread wide, her heart pounding. After a while, she finally said, "I have to leave Hengshi."
"Huh?" Ji Juntao exclaimed in surprise, "You haven't fully recovered yet, what kind of trouble are you causing now?"
"I'll tell you slowly later." Shang Yechu stood up, and the toilet flushed automatically. "I'm going on my honeymoon with Yang Huanyi."
Ji Juntao sneered: "With your kind of behavior, you want to go on a honeymoon? You're lucky if you don't become enemies."
"I'll leave the rest to you for now." Shang Yechu calculated the days. "After filming 'Anna Doriya,' 'Rules Street' should be released around the same time. There's publicity and roadshow stuff to do. Every day that's delayed is a day."
"Okay." Ji Juntao was about to hang up when he suddenly remembered something. "Don't let things really develop between you and Yang Huanyi. Even though things are more open now, it'll still cause trouble if things get out of hand."
"No way," Shang Yechu said firmly. To reassure Ji Juntao, she deliberately made a few sarcastic remarks about Yang Huanyi, "How could I possibly fall for a woman who takes on multiple roles at once, is unprofessional, and is more than ten years older than me? There's a generation gap every five years, this is a difference of three gaps!"
Ji Juntao wholeheartedly agreed: "That makes sense. Alright, since you've made up your mind, I won't stop you. Go ahead."
Shang Yechu hung up the phone, washed her hands, and left the house like a thief.
On the other end of the phone, Ji Juntao held his phone between his neck and looked at the message coming from the WeChat app on his computer:
WeChat friend "Yang Huanyi Ye Xinxi Collaboration":
[President Ji, I've already told Ye Chu what you asked me to say.]
Ji Juntao smiled and his hands flew across the keyboard:
Thank you.
