#Filming Begins Today for Series Spin-off of Happiness Street Movie#
Since its official announcement, "The Legend of Happiness Street" has been generating a lot of buzz. Even before filming began, stills were released. The seven main actors play various roles, including a bookstore owner, a mobile phone shop owner, and a roast duck restaurant owner. Shang Yechu also donned a minor role, playing a corpse.
The official Weibo post included nine photos, arranged in the classic nine-grid layout. At the center was a picture of Xingfu Commercial Street, with a large, bright red "拆" (demolish) character plastered on the wall, making a strong and noticeable statement.
The seven main actors, plus Shang Yechu, make a total of eight people. The stills of the eight surround the central photo, each person looking up, down, left, or right from different angles at the large "拆" (demolish) character in the center, their expressions varied: panic, anger, smugness, confusion…
Even the minor corpse played by Shang Yechu secretly opened one eye and looked towards the upper left corner. Although it was supposed to be a scene of a corpse, the scene had a strangely comical quality that made people want to laugh at first glance.
The structure of the still is a perfect homage to the poster for the movie "Happiness Street, Please Come In!"
It's strange, even though the color tone and layout are almost identical. But Ye Chu's still looks ten times better than everyone else's. Although she's making a strange face, she doesn't look ferocious at all; instead, she looks quirky and playful. The onlookers are completely baffled, and can only attribute it to Ye Chu's good looks, or perhaps Qingping Entertainment favors its top star and used a better photographer.
Qingping Entertainment was equally baffled. Shang Yechu was far away in Yinzhou, so it was impossible for her to come to Hengshi to take stills. This photo was taken by Shang Yechu in Hengshi and sent over via email.
The art team was absolutely blown away when they saw the stills sent by Shang Yechu—the composition, the details, the expressions—they were all captured perfectly! They were even better than the stills the company shot in the studio.
Even a casual snapshot taken by the top female star during her busy schedule turns out better than a studio photo. There are far too many good-for-nothings being supported by entertainment companies.
The company really wronged the photographers this time. They didn't perform badly; the stills were all of handsome men and beautiful women, each one stylish. It's just that the photographer who took this picture of Shang Yechu is far superior to ordinary photographers.
This still was taken by Shao Guangji.
The story is a long one. That day, Shang Ye Chu received a publicity request from the company and went to ask Shao Guang Ji if he could borrow the photographers from the "Heavenly Emperor" production team. No need for a big fuss, just one or two people would be fine—"They'll pay you."
Shao Guangji wouldn't refuse such a small favor. After filming wrapped, Shang Yechu asked the crew's photographer to take a few pictures for her.
Just then, Director Shao happened to pass by, walked over to the photographer, and looked at the results. He frowned as he looked at them.
Finally, Shao Guangji stepped in himself, carrying the camera to take a few pictures of Shang Yechu.
As expected of a director with a background in documentary filmmaking, the final product turned out surprisingly well despite the unprofessional location and equipment.
The leaf buds were also quite satisfied with the picture of the corpse. The humiliation-chasing and moe-chasing fans offered their insightful opinions:
@叠青钱: [What's wrong with Qingping Entertainment? They usually take such terrible business photos, but they take surprisingly good pictures of corpses...]
[Not surprising; it's a job for the underworld to take funeral photos.]
[This is hilarious, the person upstairs could frame this.]
[Actually, I was a little bothered by putting Lao Ye at the end, but I forgave it after seeing the quality of the stills.]
It's not surprising that the last picture is shown; that's how it is with special appearances.
@DesperateAbandonedWomenRiseAgain: [Has Lao Ye gained weight again?]
[I'm not the only one who thinks this.]
This is Lao Ye—give her a little sunshine and she'll shine; she'll eat as soon as she joins a film crew. While others expand their network on set, she expands her weight first.
[My great figure from the last time I posted those beautiful photos in a green dress is long gone...]
[Can't a director as big as Shao Guangji control her mouth?]
[Old Master Ji sent seven or eight assistants to keep an eye on her, but they still couldn't control her... I won't say anything more, even though I'm being rude.]
[Stop! This topic is long over!]
@叶面肥肥哒哒: [Those scumbags are inflating the likes, is the data team dead? Aren't they going to do something about it? They'll behave themselves once the scumbags suppress the likes.]
@Sugar-Preserved Honey Leaves: [Don't worry if you can't compress it, I've already left the group.]
@初初的叶间星: [Ye Bao's first time as a producer~ Everyone, please support her~]
@Frozen Leaf Buds into Amber: [Baby's dream is to revitalize Happiness Street! Although her special appearance doesn't involve many scenes, the "Happiness Street" IP is already tied to Ye Chu; without Baby, there would be no IP! Everyone, don't slack off!]
@LeavesTreeGroup: [A Little Happiness spin-off series, come quick, cut all the hype! First, follow the official Weibo account of [A Little Happiness Spin-off], then grab the following posts and give them twenty likes!]
