Infected at the start and exiled to the City of Strange Species.
Octopus extended its tentacles: What is this? Let's suck it!
Goat extended its hooves: What is this? Let's suck ...
Gu Li was pulled out of the car by the two, with Lucy following closely behind. Silver threads formed a protective shield in front of everyone.
The group fought and retreated, but the men in red uniforms quickly surrounded them. Once they realized the guns were no longer effective, they abandoned their pistols.
They roared, their bodies suddenly swelled, and their hands transformed into long, dry claws, slashing fiercely at the densely intertwined silk threads.
A powerful strike ripped through the transparent protective shield, but countless threads instantly filled the gap, resulting in a stalemate between the two sides.
03 roared and its body grew larger again, tearing its clothes. Soft chunks of flesh spilled out from the tear, and thick blood vessels throbbed rapidly on the flesh.
The eight uniformed handsome boys simultaneously transformed into flowing chunks of flesh, quickly becoming indistinguishable as they merged together and suddenly pounced on the four of them.
Putting aside the power, this scene was indeed quite impactful.
Gu Li held the longsword Lucy had tossed to her, and took a step back without making a sound. Ugly things can be cut, but things that are horribly ugly will only make people want to stay away from them in every way.
Jack looked away from the thing with disgust.
"Damn it, I take back what I said before. If I have to survive by turning into something like this, I'd rather die."
Lucy suddenly clenched her fist and said in a gentle tone, "Please step back behind me, Miss."
When Gu Li saw the red airship above begin to shake, he decisively hid behind Lucy.
Jack and Barry watched helplessly as the spaceship above them was suddenly shattered into countless pieces, crashing heavily onto the eight writhing brothers on the ground.
Instantly, flesh and blood flew everywhere, and juices splattered all over the place. What was even more terrifying was that the protective barrier in front of them couldn't stop the liquids!
Jack: Ugh!
Barry: Ugh?!
They were covered in fragments of the eight brothers, and their faces showed a sense of helplessness, as if they wanted to kill but couldn't win.
With Lucy protecting him closely, Gu Li strolled out unharmed, and under their weary gazes, he pressed his longsword against the neck of the pilot who had climbed out of the airship.
A smile played on her pale, beautiful face as she slowly inquired, "How did you find us?"
The man's face did indeed resemble the eight brothers below, but now he was filled with fear, and he said haltingly, "We...we were just on routine patrol!"
"We haven't found anything all day except for picking up a few people. That's why the captain... the captain brought us here... Please, let me go!"
Gu Li's eyes flashed, and he pressed his longsword forward: "Dare to lie to me? There's nothing on the spaceship."
The driver felt a chill on his neck, and the stinging pain and the sensation of liquid running down his neck made him grit his teeth, and a vein throbbed on his forehead.
"I'm not lying to you, the person was sent to the camp before we arrived. I can give you money! Just let me go!"
A cough came from behind Gu Li. Jack came up behind the two of them and grabbed Gu Li's wrist: "Don't kill him here. Just leave him here."
"It's getting dark, we need to get out of here quickly, stop playing around, young lady."
Gu Li sheathed his longsword, his tone tinged with regret: "Alright."
The two turned to walk outside when suddenly a whooshing sound came from behind Gu Li. She pushed the longsword away with her thumb and her arm was tense as she was about to draw it.
Suddenly, Jack, who was walking beside her, grabbed her and threw her away, pointing his gun at the driver whose face was contorted with rage.
"You asked for this."
"Bang bang bang!"
As darkness fell, the four walked along the path through the massive garbage mountain, each lost in their own thoughts, and fell into a quiet silence.
Ignoring Barry's wary gaze, Gu Li walked up to Jack and asked, feigning nonchalance, "Didn't you say we shouldn't kill anyone here?"
Jack snapped out of his reverie and glanced at the young lady he had picked up and his subordinates who had also been thrown into the garbage dump.
He knew these two men were definitely not ordinary people, but he put on a calm face and said, "I didn't kill him, I just made a few holes in his legs."
“Over the years, these men in red have lured away countless of our people. Even if he doesn’t retaliate, I’m still planning to do the same.”
When the four arrived at the edge of the outer city, Gu Li suddenly looked back and saw a burst of polluted air erupting from the depths of the garbage mountain.
It was probably right where they left.
The aura was exceptionally strong, turning the sky a deep black.
There was a transparent barrier at the edge of the outer city. As the four of them walked in, it lit up with a dim light. Gu Li's gaze lingered on this thing for a second.
Finally, we landed on the outer city buildings, which was a huge square paved with old-fashioned bluestone bricks.
In the very center of the square stands a statue covered with a black cloth.
She seemed to be an exceptionally tall woman, and Gu Li vaguely sensed an attraction emanating from her, making one want to get closer.
When Barry's gaze swept over her, she calmly shifted her gaze to the street ahead, which exuded an exceptionally refined and retro atmosphere.
It has an architectural style that resembles that of a city of aliens, but it is clearly not a forgotten city. The architectural style of Grantham is still stuck fifty years in the past.
Jack and Barry led the two through the city, eventually stopping in a narrow alley.
"Excuse me, please take this with you before you go to the base."
Gu Li looked at the black strip of cloth he pulled from the wall and exchanged a glance with Lucy.
Ten minutes later, Gu Li and the other person were placed in a room and were allowed to remove their blindfolds. She breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Jack and Barry were looking at her with serious expressions, but they were speaking to Lucy.
“Thanks to you all for your help today,” Jack said, his gaze landing tentatively on Lucy. “You’re not from Grantham, are you?”
He didn't wait for their rebuttal before continuing, "The outer city is about to hold a festival to celebrate the Mother Goddess's birthday. It's very chaotic. You'd better stay here for a while before going out."
"You saved our lives, so we can do two things for you without harming White Eagle."
Since entering the house, Barry's expression had softened considerably, and his dark eyes no longer appeared so menacing.
"You can take your time to think it over. Three meals a day will be delivered. If you want to go out, just ask Lisa."
After the two left, Lucy straightened up and carefully examined the room, then shook her head at Gu Li: "Nothing's wrong."
Gu Li turned her gaze away from the pitch-black window: "Lucy, can you feel it? This house."
Lucy nodded, and with a slight movement of her fingers, countless silver threads enveloped the room.
Her expression was somewhat grave: "I can't sense the existence of this house."
Gu Li blinked; it seemed they felt the same way.
This organization is a bit more interesting than I imagined.
